ok - so I'm a little late watching this one... I think it's interesting. I have been in love with a guy who is 1/2 Japanese since I was 15... I have only ever really liked men with dark hair and features so that could have had something to do with it or that my family lived in Japan before I was born and Japan has always fascinated me. 3 points.-- asian men make as much economically in USA as white men.  asians are NOT economically disadvantaged, so this fails to explain, as you suggest, the pairing of AF/WM within america.

2. actors playing outside their ethnic groups-- why is it that whites are the only ones who are "disallowed" from playing outside their ethnic group..? blacks play white characters, and asians in ASIA play white characters. In fact IF whites were to protest a black actor playing a white role...

I like this video,you seem honest and intelligent. My ex was Filipino-we knew each other for approx. 2 years before we dated 10 months. I never realized he was interested in me romantically until our mutual friend(filipina) flat out told me. In the original video, a white woman who has interests in Asian males is asking the questions I'm reading out. As for "privilege" I don't believe a word you're saying. Before I met The D's dad (more than 25 years ago) I long-term dated a Chinese-Hawaiian guy from Hawaii and a pure Japanese guy from Japan. The first guy was a cop. The second guy was the son of a high-ranking member of Prime Minister Fukuda's Cabinet, each from very different cultural and economic backgrounds. Oh, yeah... and the reason why it didn't work out with the first one is because it was a long-distance romance (I commuted back and forth between Florida and Hawaii every month) and the second one is because his VERY TRADITIONAL Japanese parents had already picked out a "nice Japanese wife" for him!
