Sorry, but even though you have a nice dog, the dog is NOT working on a loose lead. A therapy dog should not have to be yanked away from people or other distractions. A simple "leave it" cue should work. Pits are great pullers, but here's a hint - Therapy Dogs, Inc. will let you test in a Gentle Leader head collar.
I was nervous, it was handler error with keeping the leash so tense and I should've trusted my dog more. I trained her myself and walked into this test cold, as it just happened to be at a Pet Fest I was attending and I thought I'd see if she could do it... which she did. The springer was a dog that was pulled out of the crowd, not another socialized CGC dog being tested and I didn't know what that dog's dispostion, made me even more tense. She didn't need a halter, she needed me to relax.
Great looking Pitty, my dog Tonka is a therapy dog here in Australia he is a Rotty x Bullmastiff it's good that people can see they are great dog's. I don't believe in bad or violent dog's just poorly educated and irresponsible owners.
Great job ;-)

I am getting ready to have my dog Harley tested for the CGC. Then it will be the Therapy Dog test. What should I expect?

The dog is pulling you, not good. Should walk beside you on a loose leash.

Thank you. Inky died on 1.09.10 from a spinal injury that was never explained. She was one in a million. I miss her.
