  • There is no queen in heaven. There is only a King. In fact, we are told in Jeremiah that God punished His own people for invoking the queen of heaven in their worship. If there is a queen, God would have revealed this important truth to them. The elevation of Mary from a mere human to a divine being is contrary to Scripture and must be rejected as a false teaching.

  • @mpenaco Jesus didn't reveal all divine mysteries to his disciples for they were yet not ready to receive. He sent the Holy Spirit to guide the Church unto all Truth and reveal all that He spoke to us. Jesus spoke to his beloved disciple, "son, behold thy mother" and to Mary, "mother, behold they son." In this Jesus gives us Mary to be our Mother, thus we are to take Mary into our hearts as our Mother. Mary takes us as her children to be our mother and helper. She intercedes for us in heaven.

  • @evo55 Who did Jesus say his mother is?

"Someone told him, "Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you." He replied to him, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?" Pointing to his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."

    (Matthew 12:47-50).

The disciples, not Mary, are Jesus' real mother according to Jesus himself.

  • @mpenaco We know that Mary did the will of God. She is 2x the mother of Jesus, for not only did she carry Jesus in her womb and nurture him in life but she always did the will of God. Mary is the model disciple of Jesus for all Christians. She was the first to believe in and accept Christ as her saviour. She followed him all the way to the Cross. She accepted to suffer with Christ by seeing her son die on the Cross. A sword pierced her soul so that the thoughts of many hearts would be revealed.

  • @evo55 Mary, just like Abraham, Moses, David and others did the will of God and for that, she will be with God in His Kingdom. But her obedience does not mean that she is the new Eve, or that she was sinless, or that she is queen of heaven and earth, or co-redemptrix or mediatrix. She is a child of God for her obedience to God's command, nothing more. All glory and honor belong to Christ for making the ultimate sacrifice. Let us all give him that.

  • @mpenaco Mary is Queen of Heaven. She is co-redemptrix and mediatrix of all graces. The Holy Scriptures speak prophetically of Mary's queenship in Psalm 45:10-17. The people will seek her favor (verse 12) and all generations will praise her (verse 17). God has exalted Mary to be Queen of Heaven. We should honor those upon whom God has bestowed great honor. Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Christians are correct in honoring Mary as Mother of the Church and Queen of Heaven.

  • this is one of my favorite books!

  • In 2001, while he was a cardinal, the pope issued a secret Vatican edict to Catholic bishops all over the world, instructing them to put the Church's interests ahead of child safety. The document recommended that rather than reporting sexual abuse to the relevant legal authorities, bishops should encourage the victim, witnesses and perpetrator not to talk about it. And, to keep victims quiet, it threatened that if they repeat the allegations they would be excommunicated.

  • @kiwichristian2009 - What I don't understand is why, if you are so concerned with child safety, you don't reference Carol Shakeshaft's report showing that in the public school system, the incidents of child abuse and cover ups are "at least 100 times worse" than those arising from priestly abuse cases. So are you trying to protect children, or just trying to point the finger at Catholics? Honestly? Really?

  • @kiwichristian2009 If it was a "secret Vatican edict", how come you know about it?

  • ALL HOLY - Mary, the All-Holy, lived a perfectly sinless life. (Catechism 411, 493) Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Revelation 15:4 says, Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? For thou only art holy." Romans 3:10 says, There is none righteous, no, not one."

  • Dear kiwi, I am aware of these verses. Most catholics will say that verse has nothing to do with Mary. That it is totally different. The reason I recommend The Great Controversy is because it gives a fantastic treatise on how, when, why and where the Catholic religion started, where it has gone and where it is going. I know as a Christian you will be pleasantly pleased, as I was.

  • Let's talk about the Queen of Heaven. Read The Great Controversy and Early Writings first before we do. ellenwhiteestate. Period organization

  • @bornbythesea No, lets read the BIBLE. "Do you not see what they are doing in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? The children gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women knead the dough and make cakes of bread for the Queen of Heaven. They pour out drink offerings to other gods to provoke me to anger." (Jer 7:17-18). Those verses are eerily reminiscent of the Roman Catholic service.

  • @bornbythesea Ellen white? The Bible is clear about women preachers or heads of churches. They are to be silent in church. 1Tim2:11 "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."

  • @kiwichristian2009 that is nothing like the catholic mass. maybe you should attend a mass before thinking you know everything about it. At my church, St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, we are very Christ-centered.

  • Actually, how can you say that mary is the new 'EVE'??

RIDICOLOUS, Mary is one of the sinners saved by the new Living God. Check your bible!!

Did Mary ever Marry Jesus? If Mary is the new EVE....THEN....JOSEPH IS THE NEW ADAM???NONSENSE, MARY IS JUST AS SAME AS WE ARE, SO EVEN IF HE IS THE NEW EVE, SHOULD WE PRAY TO HER?? no!!

    Pray to Jesus only,

    Mary is no God

  • Through infant baptism, keeping sacraments, church membership, going to mass, praying to Mary, and confession (just to mention a few), the Catholic church has developed a system of salvation through WORKS. God's word says that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not through works". "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Eph. 2:8-9)

  • @kiwichristian2009 A child must be baptized thru water and receive the holy spirit as soon as possible, when they are adults they are confirmed which means they are baptized with the fire of the holy spirit like in Pentecost. Jesus instituted the 7 sacraments, Protestants take a 10th of salaries, Paul said; give happily what you can; What membership?, Mass; do this in my memory, Queen Mary to you Mr., Jesus gave Peter and every apostle the power to untie from heaven sins, it's a sacrament.

  • @damianfonseca Show me a instance where a baby or infant was baptised.

  • @damianfonseca Infant baptism isnt a Biblical practice. An infant cannot place his faith in Christ. An infant cannot make a conscious decision to obey Christ and cant understand what water baptism symbolizes. The Bible does not record any infants being baptized.Infant baptism is the origin of the sprinkling and pouring methods of baptism,as it is unwise and unsafe to immerse an infant under water...

  • @damianfonseca ....Even the method of infant baptism fails to agree with the Bible. How does pouring or sprinkling illustrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus?

  • @kiwichristian2009 As far as Eph 2;8-9 you have misread what it really means, what God is saying is the gift to us of salvation is by his grace and faith and not by our works. No man can claim works or boast what the Trinity accomplished. The New testament clearly states a man with faith and no works is a man of dead faith. These are two very different things. Now, I must say I didn't even try hard and easily defeated your silliness doctrine against my faith, don't make me break out the bible.

  • @damianfonseca Rubbish. I agree totally. Show me where i said otherwise?

  • I love Scott Hahn's book "Hail, Holy Queen"!

  • @willthacheerleader18 "Do you not see what they are doing in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? The children gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women knead the dough and make cakes of bread for the Queen of Heaven. They pour out drink offerings to other gods to provoke me to anger." (Jer 7:17-18). Those verses are eerily reminiscent of the Roman Catholic service.

  • hy to all catolics brothers an sisters im hispanic man and im very happy for wath is hapennin now because God do evreting perfect if you are interest to have the real faith i recomended to you to understandig the catolic church faith is veri reach if you read the all bible and become free God loves you all im in nc,

  • No human is worthy of any amount of veneration or worship because we are all sinners (Psalm 14:3, Romans 3:23); we are to worship God and serve Him only (Matthew 4:10); and God will not give His Glory to another (Isaiah 42:8, 48:11).

  • @kiwichristian2009 There you go again quoting Bible verses that I'm sure you googled before posting. You act foolishly. You can't build an entire belief system off a few Bible vs. Again, I challenge you to look past your nose, and study the Bible and the CCC with a learned Catholic and then you will see how it comes full circle. God didn't found the Evangelical Church, or the Baptist Church, Anglican, Methodist, Nazarene, or any other Protestant denomination. He founded the Universal Church

  • I loved this book read it twice get this book!

    Love Scott Hahn..

  • COOL..FOR THOSE OF YOU TRYING TO CONVINCE the non Catholics, a word of wisdom here. (former PROTESTANT)

Leave them alone in their confusion, no matter how much you reason with them they will always find an excuse.Their hearts have been POISONED against the Church. Only a HUMBLE heart accepts when they are wrong.

John Martignoni says it very well, TRUTH is a person=JESUS and they really don't want to know the truth, it's a matter of pride they refuse to acknowledge they have been wrong. GET IT?

  • Oh no! This is so wrong!

Mary, (if she could hear you) would be shocked at Semiramis return in her guise.

    She is NOT co-redemptrix.

Where's did she ascend, ( oh sorry assumption) into heaven IN THE BIBLE?

This is oh so very very wrong.

  • Oh no!!! Where in the Bible says that only the Byble we have to read and study...Instead of that I see Jesus said.. Go and sadly you deny the Apostolic Tradition because you have nothing of that... Only the Holy Bible that the Catholic Church define and keep for many many centuries... Doubt of the Church is doubt of the Bible... Where is your common sense... Read John 20:30 does that tell you something?

  • Read the next verse in the KJV

John20:31'But THESE are written, that ye might believe....,'

I would have enjoyed debate with you but your evil angry attitude puts me off.

    SOLASCRIPTURA.

    Goodbye.

  • @boxitomex And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven (John 3:13)

  • @kiwichristian2009 Genesis Enoc is taken by God / Where does God live? End of Deuteronomy Moises burial not found / Kings2 Elijah leaves in a chariot of fire in a Tornado upward / Where does God live? Job 1 Satan visit's God to temp him about Job / Where does God live? Mark 9.1 Transfiguration - Elijah & Moses appear, God professes this is my son the chosen one (Did heaven open for this to happen?) Judas - Archangel Michael debates the body of moses with Satan, Apocalypse 12 Virgen Mary.

  • Oh no!!! Where in the Bible says we have to read only the Bible???... She can heard you bro... and I can tell you is so sad how the ignorance and pride of the people is loosing their own souls... read John 20:21 does that tell you something?? you deny the Apostolic Tradition because you have nothing... Only the Bible that the Catholic Church defined and keep for many many centuries... Preaching around the world like JESUS himself said... Tje ignorance is so bad.. I suggest you read more hystory

WOW you just told someone that they would cheer murder ! whats your problem!! you dont worship jesus because you have no clue what worship is!! no you worship a feeling that a picture in your head gives you THATS IDOLARY! sir...and in regaurds to John 17:17 the word of God IS JESUS who is truth ......READ THE FIRST CHAPTER OF JOHN!!! so do you worship ink on paper! which is your flawed KJV bible.... no obviously you dont! dont judge people because you dont know his heart.

  • Comment removed

  • @jamesglory1 I dont think you read what antoniov64 had written. I am sorry to say that fundamentalists interprepretation of scriptures is shallow and flawed, That shows why so many interpretations of groups claiming to follow scriptures literally.

  • @boxitomex Where in the Bible does it say we ought to or should pray to mary or other dead people? Where does it mention the "queen of heaven", where does it mention extreme unction, confessionals, popes, infant baptism, baptism by sprinkling, going through mary to get to Jesus, marys bodily assumption, mary remaining a virgin, etc? I suggest you read the Bible.

  • @boxitomex "Only the Bible that the Catholic Church defined" Rubbish. It cannot be proven that the Catholic Church is solely responsible for the gathering and selection of the New Testament books. In fact, it can be shown that the New Testament books were gathered into one volume and were in circulation long before the Catholic Church claims to have taken its action in 390 at the council of Hippo.

  • @kiwichristian2009 Ignorance and denial wont serve you here. BE SINCERE, what you are saying is TOTALLY FALSE.

  • @Enigmatik691 Open your eyes, my friend. The Bible was in wide use BEFORE the rcc "defined" it. Versions of the NT in other languages available early in Christianity:

Peshitta Version AD 150 The Italic Bible AD 157 The Waldensian AD 120 & onwards Gallic Bible (Southern France) AD177 Gothic Bible AD 330-350 Old Syriac Bible AD 400 Armenian Bible AD 400 (There are 1244 copies of this version still in existence.) Palestinian Syriac AD 450

  • @kiwichristian2009 The Catholic bible has 72 books, the protestant is missing 6 of them, Read them before you go reading other bibles. Besides, Abraham was saved by faith and not a library of books. It would take one passage of the bible to save a man's soul. God want's humility and a contrite heart more than any sacrifice offered to him. Jesus parable of "don't look at what your neighbor has in his eye when your's in worst condition ring a bell".

  • @kiwichristian2009 I seriously doubt you have a time machine the travels way back then but it's pointless to bother with that anyway. Like i said before; it only takes one passage of the bible to convert a man to salvation. If a soul is in a state of contrition and humility is present the Lord will take care of the rest. The Lord enters in his heart and cleans out the temple of prayer he's been put on earth to be.

  • @jamesglory1

so you believe in a jack chick lie about a ancient witch working with the devil to bring christians to hell. What The Heck dude?!?!?

do you know where the bible comes from?? well it comes from christians not the opposite that means the bishops of the early church put together what you put all your trust in today..... catholics dont even do this... co- redemtrix dosent mean she redeemed us NO it means that she played a role in God's plan of salvation its clear in scripture

  • @jamesglory1 Amen! The bigger-than-life Mary of Roman Catholicism is a FALSE portrayal of the Biblical Mary (the Bible never portrays Mary as being anything more than a godly woman used by God).Calling Mary a "Co-redemptrix" places her on an equal level with Jesus Christ, the Divine Son of God, making her something like a fourth person of the Trinity, a goddess or quasi-divine goddess, which is blasphemy for any true Christian.

  • @kiwichristian2009 Our Church has never professed a quasi-divine goddess, The Trinity is and shall for ever be. Israel ask for queen long before we existed in the liking of other nations. The queen is the mother of the King, as was Solomons mother. Everyone bows to the king but the king bows to the mother as the commandment written by the finger of God spells it thou shall love thy Parents. The king's place is not replaced by this, the queens access to him includes intercession for others.

  • A revealing texts on Mary in the gospel of John, mentionned twice: In Cana and at the cross, 3 words are keys to the text: WOMAN, HOUR and WINE=BLOOD: CANA:when the water turned into wine and, CROSS:when the wine turned into blood. Cana : "MY HOUR HASNT COME" CROSS: the HOUR has come to glorify the Son. CANA: What is it between us WOMAN, cross: WOMAN behold your son. And in (16,21): When the WOMAN is in labour, she is in pain because her HOUR has come, but when she gives birth, she.. is happy.

  • @antoniov64 An equally revealing text.

  • @ This only reveals the false interpretations of fundamentalists. Isaiah 14:12

How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!

    2 Peter 1:19

And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

    (continued)

  • Comment removed

  • @kiwichristian2009 (continued) Revelation 22:16

"I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."

Isiah refers to Lucifer as Morning star and Peter give the same title to Jesus. So according to your logic, calling Jesus Morning Star is idolatry! Of course there is a true Morning Star and a false one the same way there is a false god and a true God and a false Queen and a true one.(continued)

  • @kiwichristian2009 (continued 2) You obviously did not listen to Dr Hahn explanations, you just sneak into Catholic rooms to provoke through your baseless arguments. Typical of anti Catholic fundamentalists.

  • Mary had to be bor without original sin simply because God promised in Genesis 3:15 to put enmity between the devil and the Woman, and between her seed and the devil's seed.

It would be ridiculous to think that the promised woman of Genesis 3:15 would be born in sin, being that the first Adam and Eve themselves were born without Original Sin and fell. Enmity means hatred and opposition. Mary was saved from falling into original sin in the first place.

  • Many Protestant failed to understand Gen. 3:15

Well said on that. The vessel of Jesus had to be pure in order for him to be pure. Just like the Holy of Holies had to be purified because it would be the dwelling place of God.

  • @PraisedBeJesus Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Revelation 15:4 says, Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? For thou only art holy." Romans 3:10 says, There is none righteous, no, not one."

  • @kiwichristian2009 No one is denying this fact, I don't see your point. Ok, your preaching to the choir. The seat on the right side of God is reserved for the son who belongs in the holiest holy. But the Kingdom of God is not a desolate place in heaven. God first formed a family because it was so important, why would heaven lack this community. Who are the armies of angels composed of ? Jesus answers the question of wives in heaven with; when we die we are like angels.

  • @kiwichristian2009 the passage you quote is referring to personal sin not Original Sin. Obviously there are exceptions to teh rule. Firstly, Jesus did not sin. Children before the age of reason and the mentally handicapped are also incapable of sinning. Furthermore, there are many passages in Scripture that use the word "all" but always includes exceptions. For example, when John the baptized in the Jordan, Scripture states that "all of Judea" came to be baptized. Clearly that was not the case.

  • @PraisedBeJesus Wrong, my friend. The passage does not "For all have sinned personally and not originally and come short...". God is very clear. "For all have sinned" and "There is NONE righteous" There are NO exceptions, otherwise God would have made it clear. Now we are arguing over the word "all"? Do you know how many people lived in Judea at that particular time? If you don't, you have no right to assume.

  • After Adam and Eve fell, God Himself spoke of Mary in the first book of the Bible (Gen. 3:15) promising to put enmity between the serpent and the woman. That woman gave birth to Christ. As for the word "all" there are many examples of exceptions in Scripture. i.e 1 Cor. 15:22 “For as in Adam ALL die, so in Christ all will be made alive.” The Bible tells us that Enoch and Elijah were taken up to heaven without dying, so obviously not all die because these two exceptions exist.

  • @PraisedBeJesus Quote where they were taken to "heaven". They weren't. They were assumed into paradise. Also, if you are saying God tells us these two people were assumed into heaven ( unbiblical ), and since you guys are so obsessed with mary and think her to be so important, why wouldn't God have also said that she would be assumed?

  • @kiwichristian2009 Seek the truth, not the winning of an argument. Here it is again: 1 Cor. 15:22 states “For as in Adam ALL die, so in Christ all will be made alive.” The Bible tells us that Enoch and Elijah were taken up to heaven without dying. There are other examples about exceptions to the word "all" but you can't get around this first one, so I won't bother.

Be careful, self-appointed freelance Bible interpreters are a cancer to the truth because they are not infallible teachers..

  • Absolutely awesome !!

  • Even though I'm quite comfortable being a Southern Baptist I love the Catholic Church and enjoy "The Journey Home" with Marcus Grodi. Scott Hahn makes an excellent case for the Church and his background gives him tremendous credibility. I wish more "cradle Catholics" knew their faith better and appreciated all that it has to offer. I have some issues that prevent me from personnaly becoming a Catholic, but have nothing but respect for the Catholic Church and their point of view. God Bless!

  • Thank God for people like you!!! I am a devout Catholic, and have in recent years come to a deep and great understanding of my faith. I truly believe in ecumenical dialogue and am so happy to finally see a protestant with charitable words for the Church. I greatly commend you, sir

  • god bless the catholic faith!

  • I love the wisdom of Scott Hahn..also ck out the conversion story of another former minister who also saw the TRUTH, MARCUS GRODI.

  • To whom it may concern: He Was a pastor in the Presbyterian Church who converted to Roman Catholicism after a very long and intense study of the Bible vs. Roman Catholicism. He found that according to the teachings of the Church it withstood 'Biblical' scrutiny and felt obligated to join.
