I first heard this song on "The (Even More) Incredible Machine" game and knew that this song had to exist somewhere. If it weren't for the Animusic videos, I never would have known the name. It's as beautiful as Debussy's, Rêverie. I wish it were longer.
@TheMagicCamcorder Yes. Me = photographer. :D You might like my other music videos I have just because of the photos. Thanks for all of your comments, BTW. :)
@WhiskersInc really? you - whiskersinc presents this? I doubt that. glad you could put up your sweet wipe before the video that delays the piece by 20 seconds. love it.
@WhiskersInc Why is the opening cut? I know it exists because I heard this in Return of the Incredible Machine Contraptions (the exact song, same performance)
@SethBreloom94 Hm, I don't know. When I made this video, I did not make any edits or cuts to the track. I have never heard the beginning differently. That's very interesting though. If you can send me a video of the whole song + the beginning that I've supposedly cut out, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!
@SethBreloom94 The opening is not cut. However, in this version, some variations of the theme (in the middle, I think) were edited out for some reason. I think it has to do with Ravel vs. Moussorgsky orchestration, or the piano vs. orchestra versions. Thanks for showing me your version! :)
This may be a stupid question, In the open promenade, the trumpets play, how many ledgers are they playing up? And does the note start on a B flat? Just wondering get back to me someone
@DannySpandl123 It only goes to a flat above the staff (concert pitch) the first ledger line and the starting note is a concert pitched G in the staff
None other than Bud Herseth. If it's Fritz Reiner with the CSO, you can pretty much count on it. The CSO under Reiner was thought to be pretty much at it's absolute Zenith. Just positively awesome old school musicians. Really incredible playing.
oohh...i just ment that even this promenade theme is genius work .. it`s so good that i can nearly smell the air of the gallerie the great Modest Mussorgsky wanted to describe with that theme..
Thanks for posting. I first heard this on the game Sid meier's civilization revolution and just happened to stumble across the song. Very cool.

@DannySpandl123 The composition is in C, so it's typically played on a C trumpet. It starts on a G, or an A on Bb trumpet.
TheDrPhresh 1 year ago
@TheDrPhresh because of how common the Bb trumpet it is regularly played with it, but I agree that it should be played on a C
