We are commenting our faith in God because we love him and MOST people would want to read it because we were made by him and you don't have to say that. We might be crazy christians but we are crazy for GOD. And being a christian myself, i a young age, is AWESUM (:

Yes he deserves our highest love and prominence in our hearts, but what you seem to fail to understand is the modern meaning of the word "lover" in our society (messed up though it may be). a Lover in today's culture is generally "A sexual partner outside of a committed relationship". So no, i won't call God my lover. There are better ways to express our relationship with God.

religion hasn't done that much for me either, but God has worked wonders in my life in particular. He has in yours too, you just have to look with the right eyes (not your worldly ones with our lack of true wisdom) to see it. Regardless...you can still enjoy this song.
