  • @STGuilherme its imposible what you're saying, because it says that they played this music on 1988 on a tour, ans Rust In Peace was released on 1990! and in Rust in Peace, Nick Menza and Marty Friedman enter on Megadeth crew, and, in the tape they are Gar Samuelson and Jeff Young

  • @Alandroide160995 wait in this video there are Gar Samuelson and Jeff Young?? if not then what tape are you talking about??

  • Great Video!

  • I just came in a girl's mouth, and this is perhaps one of the best thrash tunes ever written. Dave's a fucking genius.

  • 0:10 IT'S MEGADETH!

  • 5:02 Dave made a yucky mistake. And then again at 5:11 he let go of his guitar at the end of his solo. I think he was too messed up at the time to realize what he was doing.

  • @TheDaveDaveDave100 You do realize that playing live 100% you cant recreate the sound that's on an album right???? Too many variables come into play.

  • @thetypezero

I can vouch for this, I've played live before. But he's right though man, you can tell Dave is fucked up in this video. Nonetheless, a stellar performance.

  • anybody here who know what guitar that jeff young used???

  • @yazidsaring kramer barretta i think , but the brand im sure its a kramer!!

  • great video!!! but they spelled the name wrong at the beginning haha!

  • simplemente me vuela la cabeza....

  • i dont want to set the world n fire~ then BOOOM!

  • Lol that's what Dave meant by " you can compare us to any band, as long as you spell our name right." it's the interview were he makes fun of Lars I think

  • I've heard about Megadeth but what is Megadeath?

  • @Teinimasiinax A million deaths. Generally accociated with Nuclear Warfare.

  • they misspelled megaDEATH haha fail

  • @HiramVazquezStudio no, that's how the band spells it douche

  • @lanakilapalani still looks weird & alots of peeps lol' about that

  • @HiramVazquezStudio no that's how its spelled megadeth go Google one of their albums its not spelled megadeath, its spelled megadeth or look at the banner in the background megadeth, moron

  • @edgeracerx thats why stupid! its megadeth! not megadeath, what are u talkin' about nazi?

  • @HiramVazquezStudio no he said they spelt megadeth wrong like this megadeath and you were like thats how the band spells it as in the band spells it megadeath i htoight thats what you meant but megadeth is spelt megadeth

  • FUCK YEAH!!!

  • Megadeth were in their prime in the 80's. Yeah, they still put on a good show today, but Dave's equipment sounded better back in the 80's.MD's early records had not fallen victim to the loudness war. Unfortunately End Game has nearly been ruined by this stupid loudness war.

  • Oh yeah I heard about that type of shit.

What do they need to do in the studio again for that?

  • @mikem376 Your comment makes no sense lol. You should elaborate more.

  • About the "loudness" of the songs in the studio version.

    Nevermind man

  • fucking hate behler

  • @IMBACHABRI dont hate him just because he sucks

  • haha! they misspelled "Megadeath"! XD awesome f**king song!

  • The year Metallica made Justice and Megadeth still had the "Kill Em All" sound... hmm... why is that I wonder?

  • @ChurchOfTheWay watch?v=6zvuhhm23oo

  • @ChurchOfTheWay Do you mean by sound wise, or just overall direction of the music. I mean Music direction MetallicA vs MEGADETH is obvious. Megadeth didn't sell out. Sound wise, could be a number of reasons. We all know Dave was the Lead player in Metallica, now he is on the writing credits for 70% of that album(KEA), and his sound was influential. High Gain (for marshalls) and med-high Mids. He transitioned those dynamics into Megadeth (still does) metallica went to absolutely no mids RTL on.

  • @XIPH0S707 Exactly. Both. I'm not accusing Metallica of selling out... well, I hated everything after the Black album... and at the time I thought that one was a sell-out, but the fact is that KEA sounds like Megadeth. I could hear Dave singing any of the tracks off that album and nothing would have been lost... I kind of wish he would cover a few of them. Not knocking Hammett but your analysis was right on although as a non-musician I don't necessarily understand the technical details.

  • @ChurchOfTheWay Ya well, if you look up the Mechanix off of their No Life Till Leather demo, you will hear Dave singing it. Metallica fans can argue if the want the facts are that Hammett really copied all of his solo structures on the first album, and Mustaine was on credits for 70% of that album. It was his sound that made KEA sound the way it did, because we never heard any mids after Ride The Lightning. I like OLD Metallica and Mega equally. Hetfield says Dave is amazing player. So thats it.

  • @XIPH0S707 I've heard Mechanix off "Killing is my Business"... never had the pleasure of hearing the "No Life Til Leather" demo... I did come across the Megaforce demo on youtube. Which one came first?

  • @ChurchOfTheWay I believe it was the No Life that came first. That was the infamous demo that made it all around the worlds underground scene, I think Barry (Megaforce) got a hold of it and wanted to sign them, then had them come out to NY. Which of course is when they canned Dave. You can find NLTL all over youtube, give it a listen, i love it, have it on my ipod, happy listening. Remember folks OLD MetallicA and Megadeth are egual, both bad-ass and epic. However new metallica SUCKS.

  • the three ppl that dislike this are going into the lungs of hell

  • "Distorted figures walk the street. It's 1999." God how 1999 felt so far away when I heard this song and it's already year 2010. :)

  • typical 80's xD

  • @CRaunchy The fuck is wrong with you?

  • @CRaunchy Umm... no it wasn't. Typical 80's would have been Warrant, Poison or Def Leppard. You're either an old 60's/70's freak or some kid who thinks Nirvana is "Classic Rock"... I can assure you nothing about Megadeth, especially their first three albums, was "typical 80's"... try "groundbreaking".

  • The guitar part Dave plays at 5:10 is epic.

  • I was thirtenn when thisw came out and I still love it now, probably more than i did then. This is The Shit! people.

  • why such a short set, headlineing with 7 songs wtf

  • @ThePunishmentDue1 it was only their third album.

  • @ThePunishmentDue1 im sure they played sum of there older shit too. or was it 7 songs the whole tour?

  • @jtr10411 I looked it up. some shows it was 7 headlineing, others it was 11-13. at this point Dave had 24 songs offiially released with some of Rust already written. i would think they would play at least 14 for a headlinin gig. 7 is pathetic..

  • @ThePunishmentDue1 remember bands gotta make you come back for more.

  • @MetalAdam420 Yeah but 7 songs? 30 minutes? Metallica does 18 every night, and this is 1988 they could do it easily...I mean, the fans should at least get theyre monies worth!

  • @ThePunishmentDue1 They opened up for maiden when I saw them around this time. I thought they only headlined in the tour through the UK, and played under Cooper and Iron Maiden in NA/Asia/SA. Maybe I'm wrong, but ya they played 8 songs when I saw them, and like i said it was under Maiden. I agree 7 songs as a Headliner is HORRIBLE. I have seen them like 4 times in the past 2-3 years, and they usually play a 11-12 set. I saw them in 09 under Slayer, and they played 8-9 i think.

  • @XIPH0S707 Yeah I saw them twice on the Carnage tour and they played 14 songs both times

  • @ThePunishmentDue1 they were stellar. I only got to see them once on the Carnage, because the full Canadian Carnage tour only came out to western Canada once, even though there was a 2nd Canadian Carnage tour that came back to eastern Canada 4 months later, with Testament as the opener, unlike Machine Head when I saw em. I just seen Megadeth on the 20th Anniversary RIP Tour, and man, it was the best Deth show I have been to in a longggg time. David came back better than ever imo.

  • @ThePunishmentDue1 ....They cut"..boots,mecanix, sc ben skin,drum solo.....502 or liar...for TV

  • that guy had a cool voivod shirt at the end of the video

  • Fuck man. Here we go again with this bullshit Metallica vs Megadeth crap. GET THE FUCK OVER IT FOR FUCKS SAKE. Shit! I come to hear the music and to see the comments ABOUT the music. Not to see this, not only old, but childish argument going on. Get a fucking life and grow the fuck up.

  • @Paiinkillerr im sorry i cant like this but i apsolutley agree with you man..man left metallica n made his own band..get over it ppl..

  • @deathskelet0n i know right?

  • @Paiinkillerr Agreed.

Besides, can't everyone just agree that Hetfield and Mustaine are both amazing musicians and leave it at that?

  • @Paiinkillerr I wonder how many of these guys posting Metallica vs Megadeth were even old enough to buy an album back then? It's like listening to an 18 - 20 year old carry on about Axl and Slash.

Not an old, old timer but my first Metallica album was Puppets in 86. Got "Kill 'Em All" the same year. To be fair though, Dave, Lars and James kept this rivalry/controversy going for years.

  • @jonorancid I use to have that demo. I think I still got it somewhere. Didn't remember it being on there but I check Wikipedia and it was on it. So I guess Mustaine wrote most of that solo too. Does sound like one of his solos for the most part but like I said before Kirk tweaked the solos. He used Dave's as a guideline.

  • What is the song at the start?

  • @clem070605

I'm not sure, but I believe they use to begin their shows with that song.

Because I have some bootlegs from the SFSGSW Tour and they always begin a show with that song.

  • "megadeAth" ¿¡WTF?¡ LOL

  • @xxxCarnesxxx i know ur such a fanboy of metallica. even metallica will prove u wrong. if dave didnt write half of the songs who did then?!? and i do agree he was the CO WRITER and james and lars wrote them with him. So every1 stfu about Metallica vs Megadeth. Just enjoy thrash metal

  • @TheBiGTREx Oh, and to answer your guitarist comment about the poster with James without a guitar is cause he wanted to focus more on being a vocalist and not playing guitar. Dave wasn't even the first guy to play solos for Metallica either it was a guy named Lloyd Grant. He had originally had the solo for Hit the Lights but when Dave came in he changed the solo to his own.

  • @creepingdeath171 hey retard... You know Creeping Death was a song Exodus was working on when Kirk left right? Seriously people need to shut up and quit arguing about this shit. If anybody wants to know why Dave was so pissed is cause they used his solos and four of the songs he CO-WROTE when he told them not too and then because a magazine gave Kirk praise for the solos he wrote. He wrote on 6 songs and had solos on 9 songs in total.

  • @taylerwarren actually Dave had nothing to do with Creeping Death. It was song that Exodus was working on. I've heard the rumors about Lepper Messiah, I doubt he had anything to do with that. The riffs sound like something James and Cliff might have come up with. The solos sound like something Kirk would do too. Unless they took something from lyrics he had written before but I seriously doubt that.

  • @TheBiGTREx dude, James had been playing guitar long before Dave ever joined Metallica. He had written Hit the Lights before Dave even auditioned. Kirk came up with the solo for Seek and Destroy and that slow tempo segment of Four Horsemen. It don't take a fuckin' year to come up with solos for that. James wrote what he wrote Dave wrote he wrote and Kirk came up with solos on 2 songs. End of story. Nothing else. So to recap, Dave wrote on 4 songs and 95% of the solos.

  • @xxxCarnesxxx dave wrote the original seek and destroy listen to no life to leather demo, it was daves playing on that record.

  • @jonorancid i doubt it doesnt sound very davey and the music is cracp and arrangement too long

  • @ExploiterMetal i mean he wrote the oringal solo not the song the song was james's

  • @ExploiterMetal you can shut the fuck up man

    go listen to metallica

  • @skeleton0578 huh?

  • @skeleton0578 hahaha good one man metallica had to make a vidio about their pussy fights hahaha thouse fucking pony men

  • @MegaLDeth im with you man. Dave actually did write a lot for Kill Em All. He did Call of the Ktulu, Ride the Lightning, and some of Creeping Death. And he did some parts to Leper Messiah

  • MEGADEATH??? O.O fuck!

  • @TEO1994sniper Its Megadeth...

  • @Tombking2 I know, they wrote bad their name in the beginning of the vid...

  • @MegaLdeth You shut the fuck up! Dave did not write most or all of Kill Em All. He wrote Mechanix not the Four Horsemen. The slowed down tempo was James's writing and Kirk's solo and did not have Dave's lyrics. S&D is Kirk's solo. HTL, Motorbreath, Whiplash, NR, S&D are all James's riffs and AIE and Blitzkrieg are covers. Besides those last 2 I mentioned he wrote like 95% of the solos that Kirk tweaked.

  • @xxxCarnesxxx so youre telling me kirk wrote all that in a matter of weeks considering he was fired in april 1983 and kill em all was recorded in may 1983??? Plus in the early days dave was the only guitar player in metallica (look at there concert promo posters) dave pretty much taught james how to play thrash.

  • Killer vintage vid. I wish people would shut up with the fuckin' Metallica/Megadeth shit. Oh, and btw, if you wanna know who wrote what look at the fucking album booklets dumbasses. Mustaine didn't write all of the Four Horsemen. There is a segment where the tempo slows down. James wrote that. Kirk came up with solo for that part. He didn't write all the stuff on K E A or R T L. The only full song he wrote was the Mechanix.

  • @gdsmzroll its from the movie apocaly
