throwing of flags

i say it's a traditional thing to do in a westlife concert

I need an Irish person to answer a question please. I know people throw the flag and one of the westlife boys picks it up and wears it. I know it is done with admiration and fun, but do people find it offensive at all for the flag to hit the floor and be thrown? Please no offense here, just a curious question. I know different countries have different traditions involving a national flag.  Also on another note, if you watch enough videos you can actually see some of the same people repeatedly

@hill2mason well, i'm not irish.. but i can answer this. I swear its merely for fun. The fans throw the flag on the stage(basically because they cant throw it at them) and the lads picked it up and wear it ...for national pride. This is a concert, not a ceremony or anything.. and i doubt the throwing thing is anything offensive. To add it on, this concert is not on home ground.. :) hope that helped

@hill2mason And,... i guess thats the reason why nicky picked the flag up quickly.. to avoid any misunderstanding. From my point of view, its seriously nothing offensive.. you'll see it in any other concerts. lol :D
