So basically the method of flipping and pitching are the same except that when you're flipping the only thing you are physically doing differently (besides not bringing the wrist up as fast to cast as far) is that when you're pitching you hold the line with your hand to help control it? Is that the only difference? Someone please answer
@Jaygay13 Try this. Let enough line that would cover your longest pitch. Then take a piece of electrical tape and tape it onto your spool of line. Then reel the line back up into your reel. Now if you backlash it will only go a few feet. I don't recommend fishing like this but it's a great way to practice without fighting backlashes all the time.
you need to set your brakes as close to all the way off as you can get without backlashing the reel but still be able to launch the bait and punch the cover. you just have to practice your pitching and flipping while you try different settings.
