By the way, the kinect is actually very VERY different from the wii and the move, not only is it more accurate and use sensors and cameras to find you, but it also uses your whole body, including legs, so it actually is way different and better than the wii or move. I'm not saying the games are better, but all the uses of the kinect are far better, including video chat and everything else within these vids.
I got the kinect and dance central today, both are easily worth it, the kinect is very accurate and dance central gives a good workout and teaches you new moves all at once. I can't speak for any other games ( except kinect adventures, which is also fun), but dance central is definitely worth it. Very accurate, very fun.
Look at the 8:10, if you watch it careful couple of times you will see that the hand on the screen is moving even though the guy is staying still. As soon he saw the hand he starts moving his hand... What can we conclude? The whole press conference video was RECORDED, and presenters were actually the actors, they just train the whole thing so it can work smooth. ooo Microsoft, Microsoft when will you learn:)

@mauricijus - Live demonstrations are notorious for things going wrong, hence it's no surprise to see CG footage or pre-recorded footage for games, or people 'acting' to pre-recorded demos.

If the game would really respond like it does in the press conference it would be released in like 6 months, but no the game is not ready. They are just showing of what is to be expected and it looks good when watching. @mauricijus they don't train them so it can run "smooth" without lag or anything, they do recorded sequences because they want to show the games they are showcasing with all the potential it has, yes they probably use recorded sequences, but that is not because they want to act like it has no lag, everybody knows kinect has lag, technology for full body motion capping without trackers is still on a low end. E3 is about innovation and dreaming about the future...

@quackinator1 17 may be a kid to you, but I prefer hardcore games like Killzone and the such. So I don't think age has much to do with it. And I have a Wii too. And bowling is the PERFECT example of being the same, yes. But so far, that is the ONLY game that seems to have any resemblance. The Wii is shit compared to Kinect
@quackinator1 The sensors on the kinect are much more sensitive, if you swing your arm faster, the ball actually rolls faster. It's much better sensitivity-wise than the wii. plus, on the kinect, its just more realistic (as stupid as that may sound). It really gets you into the game more than the wii.
P.S. in case you haven't noticed, video games are pretty much marketed towards kids and teenagers, not 40 year old men, so quit dissin on a 17 year old for enjoying the kinect, it's a good time.

@Quartrez to you its useless but some people might want a wider windshield view, all they're trying to do is create the feeling of being on a car and being able to look around the car instead of a limited view... They just polished the game a little bit.... Also if you see the part at 5:34 you can see the guy is still facing the screen so its not even that much of a risk to to do that because you can still see pretty well.
the only game that looks like it has potential is dance central because you use your whole body in the game. the Star wars game felt like some game id play in a movie theaters arcade. It looked linear, not much movement on the players part it seemed, but thats just my first judgement. as for the racing game, i think its better suited for the wii

I think I saw a fake touch there at 8:09 Look how the guy checks up the car all around and then the white hand shows in the screen, but it shows in the screen little too early before the guy gets to move his hand.

This may show that the people are acting/pretending to play and use the system when really there just moving around while a pre recorded video of the games are being played. maybe they did this just incase the kinect was a bit unresponsive during the presentation; or they dont even trust in their own product to work properly?

@MrTalegazo I have actually changed my view on kinect watching other videos on it. It will work but to a degree I think so it still is kinda kick ass. Also where I was gonna pre-order it, I am now gonna wait till christmas to see weather there's some good feedback on it... but to "Hate" it (Not dislike it like alot of ps3 fanboys do) you have to be fat or lazy.
I am really intrigued by this new technology that it's in Kinect. I currently have a PS3 which I really like playing sports games and watching movie on. I think that since this technology is new in Kinect, there'll be a bit of lag and it won't be as smooth as being shown here. I guess after a year or 2 of release, it'll become smoother than before. I am really excited with this new technology by Microsoft. I m disappointed with PS3 Move, which is copying Wii basically.

@MrTalegazo I have actually changed my view on kinect watching other videos on it. It will work but to a degree I think so it still is kinda kick ass. Also where I was gonna pre-order it, I am now gonna wait till christmas to see weather there's some good feedback on it... but to "Hate" it (Not dislike it like alot of ps3 fanboys do) you have to be fat or lazy.

I am really intrigued by this new technology that it's in Kinect. I currently have a PS3 which I really like playing sports games and watching movie on. I think that since this technology is new in Kinect, there'll be a bit of lag and it won't be as smooth as being shown here. I guess after a year or 2 of release, it'll become smoother than before. I am really excited with this new technology by Microsoft. I m disappointed with PS3 Move, which is copying Wii basically.

@ppraish Sony didn't copy Nintendo,Sony had eyetoy waaay before Nintendo even thought of Wii.Sony has alot more RnD on move then Nintendo did on Wii.Nintendo had to bring something diffrent from Sony and Microcrap i mean soft..It works for them,Sony seen theirs a market for it and with better tech it will make motion gaming alot better.Playing Kz3 and Resistance 3 will be fun as hell even MAG will be sweet with Move.Kinect is a over priced ps3eye. Nice going Microsoft..

BUT, this is meant to bring the WII customers away from there little white box to the BOX. when little girls and i guess boys that love 'so u think u can dance' see this they will want one of these for xmas. Plus it is a great excuse for a grown male to go out and buy one so he can play COD and Dead space when the wife and kids are out ;)
