I only like Dante's Inferno solely on the fact that it is based off The Divine Comedy, which has never really been done before. Is it sorta like God of War? Definitely. But how many war games are out there like Call of Duty? More than I can count. So I'll give it to Dante's Inferno for taking a great story and creating a great video game from it.

They wanted everything to have a sick and twisted feel, so as to give the player that "This place is FUBAR!" kinda feeling. . .. . .Come on, It's hell! @gigigood1 It's based off of a poem by the Catholic Renaissance poet (not the fictional crusader in the game) Dante Alighieri. He wrote a piece called "The Divine Comedy," which was divided into 3 sections. Paradisio (Heaven), Purgatorio (Purgatory), and Inferno (Hell). This game is based off of the most well known part of the poem, Inferno, and is loosely based story wise, but the descriptions from the poem are very evident in the game. To answer your question it is based on early Christianity.

@jengofrett The poem mixes the two a LOT, and roman mythology is all over the place, just as many "mythical" figures appear. Even Zeus is directly mentioned as an exsisting deity, just as other roman gods make their appearance, and popular figures such as the knights of the round table. Rather than a purely christian work, it rather draws from the entire medieval culture and "italianism".

You even have the titans from greek mythology appear in threachery for having revolted against the gods.

the God of War series was made by Sony Santa Monica studios, thus making it an exclusive to the Playstation systems... Dante's Inferno is made by EA Games/Visceral Games, thus making it available to PS3 and X-Box360 owners... I know the controls and gameplay are almost identical, but from playing both games I can say that Visceral Games made a few much needed improvements as far as the controls

Ive seen these videos just now, never seen any other video from dante's inferno.

My impresions right now are that this game looks pretty close to the game style of dynasty warriors. Spawn at a map, do awesome combo's n spells and advance through the game.

Though ofc, this one is a lot more detailed. I love the tense background music.
