  • four years past since you've started this project, but there is no more films of your 911... have you done any progres? it's really interesting though

  • And is it restored now?

Or from the field to a backyard ornament? ;-)

    Greetz,

    Joseph

  • hey did you get it fixed and how much???? im trying to see how much mine would cost to get fixed

  • Looks like you have your work cut out for you!

  • Looks like a nice project ;)

  • my dad and i found a flat black 71' 911 turbo s in a feild with whale tail its sweet

  • @DogLoverRIley nice find but sounds quite strange, there was no Porsche Turbo available for sale in 1971 and no whale tail until late 75, are you sure it's not a rebodied 911? quite common.

  • @DogLoverRIley yeah man, me myself and Irene found a '61 Panamera in an abandoned chocolate factory in nothern Carolina, Egypt, it has the 2 door wide body and a 13 cam Flat 9 engine.

  • bon courage pour la restauration car il semble qu'il y ai beaucoup a faire pour qu'elle roule de nouveau

  • does it start

  • REASON IT WAS ABANDONED IS THAT A TREE FEEL OVER THE ROOF AND OWNER AT THE TIME DECIDED NOT TO FIX IT, LEAVING THE THING OUTDOOR UNTIL I FOUND IT......HE ADVERTISED IT AS A "1972 PORSCHE 924", KNOWING THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG AND BEING AT WALKING DISTANCE FROM MY HOME I DECIDED TO TAKE A LOOK AND WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BUY IT FOR EURO 1000 (ONE THOUSAND....YES), THIS CAR HAS SINCE BEEN SOLD TO AUSTRIA TO MAKE SPACE FOR A PRISTINE, LOW MILEAGE 1988 911 CARRERA G50 COUPE' WITH LIMITED SLIP, GREAT!

  • @volkscooters That must have been one hellova tree?

Even took out the bumpers! LOL

Good luck buddy. I know what it takes to finish this. Enjoy

  • So how is it coming along?

  • Beautifull 2.4 and it's and s! ;-))) I would love one of these next, good luck with it,Im sure she will be gorgeous when finished, look forward to seeing her, please update me when done, I currently have a 35 year old dino in pristine, but took a lot of work, guys like us, it's just what we do;-) enjoy

  • at first glance iw ould think it was gone too but if you can work th magic i will sure as hell watch the vid of the resto. i wanna see it!

  • I just want to know why someone would abandon a five year old Porsche. It wasn't even broken in!

I bet you're going to have fun with this car.

  • I have a feeling this is not the first car you are going to restore, and you must have awesome sheetmetal skills aswell. love to see it done :)

  • i'm envious man!!!...anyway good luck with your job!!

  • pls tell me where did U find this beautiful pearl.... :)

  • Hello,

do you have restored this Porsche 2.4S?

    Regards

    Alex

  • WOWSERS!

looks like a lot of work.

Any updates now that nearly 3 years have passed?

  • it looks bent?

you are braving man than me

  • how about the project now? any update?

  • good luck, it look nice to repair it and resto ;P

  • Totally not worth buying.

  • That car looks like just came out of a lake, its just rusted to the core...man its sad when ppl let this cars go like this...Goodluck

  • you really bought that to restore??? good luck man... yur gonna need it.

  • I don't see any much of porche left! I think it was a bad investment, not even the cost of the towing it was wort it.

  • Poor Porsche neglected in a field.

  • l'hai restaurata alla fine? E' una macchina da Dio, spero tu l'abbia fatta rinascere come merita

  • good lord...not sure what ur plans are but best of luck...your lookin at a 50K+ restoration on this thing

  • OMG its so upseting to see a porsche in such a state i hope something can be done

  • this porshe looks good...:D:P

  • WOW

good luck man with doing it up

love to see when its done...

i bet that cost like 5k in that mess

  • paid just 1K

  • What did you pay for it in that state ??

  • I like your type 3 lurkin in the back. I thought my 911's were bad. You are determined.

  • You shouldn't have lifted something that rusty with a crane, the car could have easily broken in two...

  • thats going to be so cool when its done. any progress you can share?

  • i bet you bought this for the papers, engine and the rims :p

  • Any progress made on the 911?

  • Good Lord... I know it's an s man, but come on...

  • can u please post a new video on how its going

  • i saw a guy restore one of these with parts from a 70's 911 and other stuff he had found looked dam cool

  • and how is your project going on? video of its actual stand? would be very interessted to see the progress

  • it's gorgeous by the way, i envy you

  • Well done my friend, well done. You have truly been blessed

  • Only good 4 parts, that car is in very bad shape will cost a fortune to rebuilt!

  • you don't know too much about Porsches rite? ;) that's an S model dear....

  • Are you saying that because it's an S model it won't be as expensive to rebuild?

  • @volkscooters i love how u responded to that haha is there a video that shows her when shes done ?

  • i want a new video of that car!!

  • damn... that car is so friggin rare, how r u goin to find parts??

  • It may look like a wreck, but still I'm glad that volkscooters is trying to restore it. Too many of these died in fields and scrapyards. It may sound weird, but that car is going to have a great soul, probably a better one than an average, easier to restore 911. Good luck with the restoration.

  • glad it's not being tracshed good luck, needs a lot of work 0.o

  • im sorry, friend. at that point, its not even worth restoring.

  • I suspect you are not too much into Porsche values...that's a 2.4S my friend....

  • Ok im really keen to know (as a porsche owner on a car that needs work) did you get to do a resto on this beauty???

  • Is it really worth trying to fix that car? The Body is full of rust, and the engine is hanging out the back. Literally. Good luck, but I'd say you'd be better off using that as a donor car to restore another Porsche with a better body. By the time the projects finished, your car will consist of 90% body filler. You really wanna drive a car like that?

  • its retarded to fix that car. go to germany an buy a better donator man, its gonna drive u nuts.

  • Wow, why would you lift a car like this? It bent the 1/4s and the doors. No doubt it trashed the drip rails and rockers. Certainly didn't make the job any easier.

  • a labour of love,good luck !

  • wreck beyond restoration

  • I know for sure that my dad's track prepared RUF tuned SC can take on you M3 and if it failed my grandpa's 996 GT3 would take care of it in short order.... The only relation Porsche has with VW is at the factiry we use Beetle engines to run the fans (ok, so we do source parts from them) I certainly don't see anything wrong with Beetles.... You are an ignorant, insulting, misinformed....

Good luck on the resto. The wheels and small bits are probably okay. Would make a interesting museum exhibit

  • In a strong wind even turkeys can fly.

  • ...oh shit oh shit, holy shit... first I thought you had a crash with this car, overturning... you need for restoration more money than balls..

  • Man, what a find!! I wish I could find something like that on a close field!!

About the coments, don't worry and keep the motivation for your project that you will need it!

Thank god there is not a lot of people that are able to make right coments about Porsches - because they are not acessible to every one...

As an old Porsche specialist told me once: to own a Porsche you need to have two things - money and balls... something that it is hard to find combined in many men...

  • now thats a peice of work....

  • i wouldnt bother mate, theyre not particularily good cars anyway...

  • What? Considered to be one of the finest cars ever made!

  • by blinkered people who cant see what the awful, noisy, pieces of VW based shit they are

  • so what IS a good car to you, just curious.

  • BMW M5, Lamborghini Murcelago/gallardo,928 series 2 upwards...

  • Fair enough. I guess millions of people are wrong, as it IS considered to be one of the finest by almost every car expert. I have owned both the 928 series 2 and the 911. Hands down the 911 was a better car in all aspects. Have you owned a 911, or a 928 or an M5 etc. OR driven any of them? Honest response please.

  • Had a 93 M5 (340bhp version) for a few years back in the nineties, had a few probs with the head, but other than that it was a good car

  • Fair enough.....I urge to drive a 911 when you get the chance, I think you may change your mind. Yes it does have a relationship with the VW, but we are talking apples and oranges. Seriously though, go drive one, if you dont like them then, fair enough.

  • mates got an 86 carrera, might ask him for a shot, never thought about it before...

  • You are a complete idiot. Shows how much you know. Odds are that I'll flog you in my 911 on a racetrack any day.

  • You are a complete idiot. Shows how much you know. Odds are that I'll flog you in my 911 on a racetrack any day.

  • Lets have a debate without resorting to personal insults pal, why would the odds be in your favour anyway? just because you own a rear engined, aircooled, old beetle look alike doesnt make you an automatic winner in my book!

  • Your comments show you are trying to be insulting. I said 'odds' - i.e. more likely than not. The fact that my 911 is heavily worked and set up for track racing, backed by my rally and circuit racing experience says I will more than likely flog you on a race track. Your evident lack of intelligence (or diplomacy) in your insulting posts says you are also less likely to be able to beat me, let alone have a reasonable debate. 'Pal', jealousy is a curse.

  • resto project?? it looks in tip top condition to me!!

  • Looks like you already have a type III in there.

Good luck with that restoration, that's gonna be a long row to hoe.

  • I suspect a reshell may be in order!

  • Look like you have a lot of work to do there, good luck :)

  • mmmmno. In a field for 30 years, it would have no floor and far worse rust.

  • not necessarily. beauty. have fun.

  • Yes indeed,I saw this car. It was put off the road in 1976,and stored INSIDE a hall. It was exposed outside in a field from 1985 till now,and during that time, something (a tree or so) fell on the roof section. The car had very low milage. But all elements are rusty, even beyond repair. Incredible that people buy such a horror for big money, only because it's a "S" model...!!

  • I knew this car for sale for +/- 12.000€,add there 30.000€ of parts and 1000 hours of labor,2 years waiting, hell yes,not me.

Good luck anyway...Where are you located anyway? Thanks?

  • On Sept. Porsche usually changed model -

    2400 was prod.and traded since Sept.71 till

sept.73 and a few were still traded in 1974-

2400/S:greatest car.abs.the top in its range.

Worth restoring it although quite exp.stuff=

  • who would abandon a brand new porsche

  • It was apparently wrecked/flipped. Maybe someone died in it and mom just said leave it be. Idk. See the buckled roof? and the dented front end? This series have a dangerous habit of catching wind. Theres two batteries in front to act as ballast. Some people take one out in order to increase speed. Once that front end tips up wooooof somersault. Rear engine - front end comes up acts the sail.

  • 1971 should have a 2.2L. The 2.4 was in 1972-73.

  • I think you are correct mine was a December 1970 and was a 2.2

  • just wash it good to go

  • Man, how could somebody let a Porsche go like that?

  • Is it restored now?
