  • american review, what a load off s__t

  • is it me or does the reviewer look like patrick duffy?

  • i have a 2007 Suzuki 2door best car ive ever owned i take her off-road doesn't miss a beat except for the fact that my model doesn't have a transfer case which is very restricting on what i can in her but that doesn't stop me!

  • The Grand Vitara really is a Great SUV and for the price and warranty you get... It's the SUV most of my family members drive

  • a air intake in front of the bumper? wtf? yeah, get hydro-lock you ugly shit

  • @MrKaoVue i dont they mean the air intake i think they mean that thats where the air go in to cool the radiator

  • fugly

  • shit reveiw

  • dacia duster looks better than this

  • 7 years warranty ? yeah, totally one of the most valuable car. and it's handsome =)

surely , i wanna have this on my garage.

  • live in Sibirea, Very fail-safe vechicle, operable in -40 temperature.

X-Trails, Outlanders, and other are not keep Vitara.

  • too bad they have a worse reliability rating I've read

  • Nice vehicle overall, but I have reservations. The radio doesn't have a USB port for MP3 music. I'd obviously pefer a standard USB port for inexpensive flash or thumb drives over a proprietary interface for expensive iPods. The radio is well intregrated into dash, so don't see how to replace it with a 3rd party radio with USB. Finally, nobody seems to be selling a winch for the GV, which does somewhat limit it's potential as an off-road vehicle.

  • Nissan X-Trail is better

  • @KPKonliner - but its uglier

  • @ryanlester1980 who cares ? the x trail saves more fuel, the dashboard is designed to avoid your knee getting knocked to the dash when off roading.

  • Is it just me or he said "big ass on the front" 0:35

  • @Dan41290

    He said big S

  • @Dan41290 lol i thought je said that too...but he said big "S"

  • I like it how he says americans are downsizing, then he reviews a huge SUV...

  • If you're so "embarassed" to be seen in it, trade it in.

I have owned a plethora of Suzukis and have been impressed with all of them. I still have an 88 Samurai, and a 95 Sidekick. I sold my 02 GV to a family member, and bought a 09 GV 3.2L XSport. Fantastic vehicle! The 3.2L will not be passed by any Chevy or Toyota SUV... So, rbolo29, do you actually have people telling you to get that "POS" out of their way, or are you being dramatic....

  • OMG!!! Samurai 88!!! that is the Jimny's grandpa!! dude, that little 4x4 is just AWESOME!!!

  • You MUST live in America. Let the redneck think they are cool with their monstertrucks and jeep v8s, let them destroy the environment och get embarressed when they get stuck do to a high weight of the truck etc, Suzuki is a very good all-terrainer for the money and looks nice to.

  • @Keup85

Sorry, but most Jeeps you'll see on the road will NOT have a V8. You'll either see ones with the 4.0L I6 or the 3.7L V6, maybe even the 3.8L V6 in the newer Wranglers. You'll only really see a V8 in a Commander or Grand Cherokee. And getting stuck has everything to do with the driver and not the vehicle. A talented driver can take a stock Jeep and take it places that idiots get their lifted and modified vehicles stuck at.

  • @The1andOnlyG33k Yeah thats why I wrote what i did, I know wrangler v8s are converted, partly because i have had e Jeep I6 4.2 , carburated, newer ones had 4.0. And I also so that the original comment i commented is gone from the site :P So I understand why u missunderstood me, have a nice day MR

  • On the Suzuki Grand Vitara, is the outer surface of the front bumper metal or plastic?

I'm seeking a way to add a small electric winch short of installing a grill guard. If the bumper is metal, I may bolt the winch directly to that.

By the way, I'm open to suggestions from those with winch experience.

  • They are plastic in the front, I have a tracker and the easiest way I found to mount the winch was to bolt a very thick plate onto the front top of the frame rails, and have this plate stick out just past the grill enough to bolt the winch to it. May be able to modify the front of the GV in a similar way, but I think the grill might be one piece with the bumper

  • @JohnJeep7 The grill is not part of the bumper, but it takes a lot of modifications to mount a winch

  • i had vitara 2000 cc since 2006 a great car save my life in car accident in my side ..a great car

  • I also had gran vitara model 2002 it also saved my life in a car accident , nice strong car indeed.

  • I'm Grand Vitaras owner since 2007 and never had a problem I like this SUV !

  • I have a 2007 GV Xsp. Seems to me that Suzuki was in a hurry to release this designe early in 2006 but the new engine intended for it would not be available until late 2008. So they decided to use the old GV H seiries engine used in the 1999 to 2005 model. The 2.7L V6 is 1990s technology used in a modern design. I think Suzuki sould have waited until 2009 to release the new design and use the engine that was intended for this vehicle.

  • I have chevrolet tracker 2001 model car which also made by suzuki, the engine is great & it will last longer than i expected. I never have any single problem with my tracker & it run flawlessly. I would highly recommend to everyone to buy the suzuki brands of car!!!

  • In 2006, we purchased a 2006 grand vitara 2.7 V6, so far we hadn't have any major problem. It has been 3 yrs now since we have it. However, it is very well maintained. We never abuse the car. After 3 yrs, I start to appreciate grand vitara because whenever we are buying big stuffs, such as tv or furniture, things seem to fit in that SUV. Last month i bought a queen size headboard, the salesman of that furniture thought it wont fit in our car, but it did..

  • I owned a 1999 grand vitara, and never had a problem , and for off-roading or going uphill this car is more than enough, too bad I had to sell it.

  • is the cheapest solution

  • I would have this over a CR-V or RAV4 any day. This is actually has SUV characteristics, unlike the competitors.

  • I just purchased an 09 Grand Vitara X-Sport V6. One word: Incredible! The new engine is awesome, lots of power. By far, the best compact SUV out there!

  • I love this SUV! :D

how much is th 2009 model?

  • 7 yrs warranty, 100,000 miles..is this just in North America, never heard about it here in Norway;-(

  • Northamerican people never trust in something that is not GM or Ford....since they think their innefficient engines and disgusting design cars are the best, car makers from other countries must offer an incredible warranty. Suzuki Vitara is a GREAT OFF ROADER, best option out there if you want a small real off roader. Everything else (Rav4, CRV, Sportage, Equinox) is just a family crossover sedan platform based SUV with no Low-range options, just electronic AWD systems.

  • Nice vehicle.. I have a 2009 2.4lt and I love it....

But the service at the Panama's Suzuki dealership "Motores Japoneses" is very bad...

Beware! Panama's Suzuki Owners, mark your replacement parts, since they might not change them and bill you like if they did.

Don't trust the Motores Japoneses' shop...

  • this is what u call i humble suv im gona buy it

  • Nice compact SUV. Another competitor worth considering is the Subaru Forester. Its highly rated by Consumer Reports.

  • You need to get your vehicle looked at. Something is wrong. 17mpg is too low. Been getting 23. A stiff ride is good if you go on tougher terrain, or on de-commisioned roads. The vehicle is superb on snow. Perhaps the best on-snow vehicle avaioable today, since the weight and power distribution is perfect.

All-time 4wd is less likely to skid than the girly 2wd which changes to 4wd when a skid is detected. This is by definition. All-in-all it sounds like you are a poser. Get yourself a CRV.

  • im gonna get you

  • Lets see how the engine works out. Never been used before. Otherwise seems good. timing chain is a big plus!!

  • wow. thats a pretty good engine increase x_x i wish i kinda didnt get the first 2006 GV..

  • Good video, but get your facts straight. The 2008 GV 2.7L has 185HP, not 170.

  • Yes, he's wrong, the old Grand Vitara XL-7 had 170 HP.

  • YESS MAN... 185HP....
