@WineTrainDotCom Thanks!!! Tom Gray the guy in the video, his family (the Gray Family) owns the Virginia & Truckee RR. I actually had the opportunity to go one on one and have one of the family member owners of the RR give me a personal tour for youtube.
@WineTrainDotCom Interesting. That would be cool if I could go down to the Wine train and get a tour and make a video for youtube like I did with this virginia and truckee video. I live near Carson City, Nevada and its almost 200 miles one way from my place to Napa.
Fantastic guided tour!! I find it fascinating that even those old glass lamp shades on the old-style lamps (by Pullman) are the originals... some of those are around 95 years old now (-wow-)!! There's a ton of history in those old cars!! Great tour!!
@Squawk7600 Thanks!!!! Also here is some other info. The Gray family owns the V&T RR and the guy giving the tour was Tom Gray one of the family members who owns the V&T.
@UnionPacific18 I live down the road from Virginia City, Nevada and I drove there. The cars were just dropped off at this location and the steam engine had taken off and this Tom Gray was nice enough to give me a tour of the cars while they were sitting.
Score! If you don't mind me telling the story, you messaged me and I called you back, I asked who the V&T person was, turns out it was Tom Gray, I was like, "get an interview!" Good work.
Getting Tom to sit down for more than 30 seconds is a challenge! He was very nice to do this, as he had the regular runs going AND the speeder convention. There was a lot of chaos, a few of us became unoffical shuttles when the speeder folks didn't book a bus for their disable members. There was more that day.
@virginiatruckee Thanks! Yeah I texted you letting you know where I was and all. It was very nice of Tom Gray to take the time to do an interview/tour video.
Great seats! So convenient.
