  • This is so inspiring . I wish every person that plays sports would be like them.

  • @ycdtotv ya exactly the point is to play fair. it wouldnt be fair if she didnt get the homerun she EARNED. if youspent your life training for that and you earned it youd probly want the other team to do that.its not bad to help them if they earned it. its not like they gave them a run. it was earned. and no where in the book does it give that definition of a homerun no one says it has to go over the fence and nothing is said about help so quit talking shit about stuff when you dont even know.

  • Wonderful story of sportsmanship. I can't believe someone actually hit the dislike on this story. What wonderful young ladies.

  • thats sportsmanship.

  • sexykatie90 any more videos like this? INJURED COLLEGE SOFTBALL PLAYER CARRIED FOR HOMERUN

  • this video touches my heart it tells me the impotence of hvn good spotsmenship is all about

  • Idk if the idea to carry her would ever cross my mind if i was the oposing team...

    :) ataaaa way.

  • nice sportsminship

  • Nonsense. You play the game to win, and if the girl couldn't circle the bases, than it's not a home run. There's nothing noble about this at all. It isn't a display of sportsmanship, it's a display of a lack of competitive spirit. Moments like these are why womens sports will never be bigger than mens here in the US.

  • @ycdtotv Heartless comment. What those girls did was more noble than any college championship. Doing the right thing will always be remembered far longer than a trophy. The fact we are even discussing this proves the point.

  • @runpenrun Helping the other team win isn't the right thing. It's fundamentally the wrong thing.

  • AWESOME!!!! ;)

  • In a way, it's sad that this is such a unique story.

    That said, it's a great story :)

  • This is amazing, put me to tears.

  • Wonderful story of great sportsmanship!

  • I am I tearfully inspired every time I watch this video. Do the right thing.

  • @runpenrun The "right thing" is to play the game the way it was meant to be played, all out, 100% effort, no mercy to the opponent--on both sides. And in the end the true winner emerges and you shake hands. The winning, the losing, the struggle. That's what athletics are about. Assisting the other team to win is nothing but cowardly nonsense. The girls who carried her should suit up for the other team next time--it's obvious they cared little about winning.

  • People like you need to stop trying to be a hardass and swallow their pride. I agree that sports are the rawest form of competition, and to succeed you must have that mentality, you must do evrything to win.In this case no one is "assisting the other team to win".They recognized that they had been beat, and all that was holding this girl back from what was rightfuly hers was a rule that barely applied. So sound tough with your "cut throat" mentality, but i'd be willing to bet that you arent shit

  • @jc3morro Sorry i ment to vote up :))

  • @jc3morro Part of a home run is successfully rounding the bases. That's part of the rules. This person did not complete the requirements of a home run. Give her a single, and move on. That's how the game is played. I wouldn't recognize this as being a home run the same way I don't recognize being down at the one yard line as counting for a touchdown, hitting the post as counting for a goal, or knocking 9 pins down as counting for a strike.

  • @ycdtotv You're an idiot. None of your examples are achieving the real goal; a touchdown, a field goal, or a strike. Your examples are comparable to that of hitting the ball off a fence but being called a homerun. She hit the ball OVER the fence. She also rounded the bases, regardless if she was assisted.

Isn't that the true definition of a homerun?

  • @EMMteo First off, nice ad hom. If the defense carried the ballcarrier over the goalline for a touchdown, I would find it equally ridiculous. Assisting the other team to win is not a part of sports. The fun in watching (or playing) sports is the competitive aspect of them: The winning. The losing. The struggle. Assisting the other team to win has no place in sports, nor does it have any place in sportsmanship-which encompasses fair play and respect. Assisting the opponent is disrespectful.

  • @ycdtotv That's extremely debatable. If the goal is to play fair, why shouldn't they count the run? Did she not hit it over the wall? Is that not considered a home run?

This is all opinion based. You may not like this, but that doesn't mean it's wrong. If you don't like it, complain to them.

  • @EMMteo A home run is hitting the ball over the fence AND rounding the bases--presumably without help. That's not a difference of opinion. If you think that assisting another team's runner around the bases demonstrates good sportsmanship, I think you have a misunderstanding of what the definition of sportsmanship is. If the objective of sports are to play fair, compete, and see who wins, I don't quite understand *the point* in assisting the other team to victory. Why bother competing??

  • @ycdtotv How many times has this really happened in sports? If this was a reoccurring issue you may have a point, but sorry, that's not the case.

  • @EMMteo We're talking about *this* case, aren't we? This case made headlines because it is so rare... yet so disgusting. If I had worked my entire life to play NCAA sports and I saw my teammates assisting *the opponent* to victory, I'd walk off the field in disgust. If you're going to help the opponent win, ... *why* compete? What's the point?

  • @ycdtotv I am so glad you just clarified the difference between an athlete and a human being, it's too bad you are neither...........join the race you disgusting piece of flotsam.

  • @ycdtotv Wow that was seriously one of the most heartless thing i have ever heard in my life! It would be a total different story if you were in Sarahs posision. she wanted a home run almost more than anything! and you have to go be a douch bag about it and act like some hardass who cares about nothing but winning!!! that is NOT what sports are all about! i mean yeah you play to win but you play for the love of the sport!! That was seriously a phenomenal display of sportsmanship!

  • @ycdtotv And sportsmanshiph is obviously something you dont have!!i envy those two girls!! that was the best thing ever! gawd people like you piss me off!!!! why you have to be a cold hearted ass!?!?!? Wow remmeber this next time you get hurt!!! wouldnt you want help??? excactly we all know you would

(sorry i couldnt send it all in one message..)

  • @BHvolleygirl I'd want help from my team trainers to get off the field, but not help from the other team. If the other team simply wanted to help her off the field... okay, that's fine. But they helped their opponent WIN! Helping the other team win is not the definition of sportsmanship. Sportsmanship includes fair play, 100% effort, gratitude toward the other team in win or defeat...Sportsmanship DOES NOT INCLUDE helping the other team win. That's being a traitor to your own team.

  • I go to Western and people here still talk about how amazing that moment was.

  • I saw this on a billboard. I never knew what it was talkin about. Awesome.

  • WOW.

thats amzing to no that the other team wud do that.
