Maybe it's because Abraham lacks the skill to land those hands over and over again, as Pavlik will when he makes Abraham look very ordinary. Abraham will lose heart when his big shots get eaten up by Kelly, while Pavlik just keeps coming forward and landing shots in numbers for as many rounds as it takes, to win.

Arthur Abraham is a skilled fighter, but I don't see anything in his fights as Champ that show he's ready for Pavlik. He's really fought nobody but Miranda, who Pavlik destroyed. Sure, Arthur has decently heavy hands, and would probably land a few good ones on pavlik, but he also fights wide open and would get hit in numbers by the accurate Pavlik. Abraham has a habit of slowing down too and rests for parts of rounds, which would be his end since Pavlik would take full adavantage.

im gegensatz zu sturm hat er noch nicht gegner wie de la hoyer(damals noch in guter form) oder demnächst sebastian sylvester(noch nicht absolute weltklasse, aber besser als alle gegner von abraham) geboxt. man sollte vielleicht erstmal abwarten wie sich ein boxer entwickelt bevor man ihn so überhypet. es kommt nun mal darauf an wie gut jemand boxt und nicht wie spektakulär!

I agree. Abraham might have very heavy hands, but those hands didn't have nearly the same effect as Pavlik's did on Miranda. Maybe it's because Abraham lacks the skill to land those hands over and over again, as Pavlik will when he makes Abraham look very ordinary. Abraham will lose heart when his big shots get eaten up by Kelly, while Pavlik just keeps coming forward and landing shots in numbers for as many rounds as it takes, to win.

It was more an uppercut and he connected first with the glove. Watch the slow-motion again, Ayala's head snaps already back when the glove connects. Later he hits with the forearm as well but I think (there is no proof) Ayala was already hurt there.

Abraham really should not be calling out anybody based on a win over Ayala. Elvin Ayala was supposed to lose to Abraham and he did. Elvin's last three opponents had a combined record of 48 wins and 29 loses. Also, Ayala lost two fights to David Banks, who was Nelson Miranda's last victim.
In short, Ayala made Abraham look good.

Arthur Abraham is a skilled fighter, but I don't see anything in his fights as Champ that show he's ready for Pavlik. He's really fought nobody but Miranda, who Pavlik destroyed. Sure, Arthur has decently heavy hands, and would probably land a few good ones on pavlik, but he also fights wide open and would get hit in numbers by the accurate Pavlik. Abraham has a habit of slowing down too and rests for parts of rounds, which would be his end since Pavlik would take full adavantage.

Ayala records: won 18 (KO 8) + lost 3 (KO 1) + drawn 1 = 22
Ayala is not a good boxer..he won his fights against cheap boxer who had bad records of KO loosing..and he was there 12 rounds!!! its not so good for arthur, from my point of view!
