wow dude same thing happened to me yesterday around D&R canal state park but it wasnt going against the current and my fishing rod was in "U" shape i got mad it cut the line.
IT seems like there was a good amount of current there, muskies are not big fans of the current so I would bet it was a good size walleye, when you catch a decent amount of musky and walleye you can tell the difference from the head shakes.
id say it was a carp, looks like he was fishing a slow moving area, slack area right where a carp would be holding
