In my opinion, the problem is the lack of adaptation of the music labels to the internet. Usually a label would sign like six artists , and one would be a major succes, and would provide the money for the others. But then (downloading), labels would get less income, and would only sign the artists that would make them profit, without taking any risks. The media would do what it always would, and the masses would only be exposed to this mediocre stuff and don't know other music is made.

This is THE discussion that needs to be happening on the internet. Honestly, we have an excellent device to really make change in the music industry and we are bogging things down by pushing the same lukewarm crap around, just to say we got the new new. WHATEVER.

Much propers to real tastemakers. Shoes is my hero and I hope more people in the world come to understand this.
