You dont understand. I consider myself a capitalist, but communism has nothing to do slaughtering innocents. Communism is nothing but an economic system. With one of the highest prison populations in the world the system is broken and more capitalism isn't the answer. There are no perfect countries (and never will be). But the FACT that communists EVERYWHERE had to build the walls, barbed wire fences, machine gun towers and shoot the people trying to escape just to force them to stay there shows pretty clear which ones are worse and which ones are better. Sacrificing the individual for the well being of the collective (or at least that's how they call it) is demonic and against humanity. If you like supporting an ideology that support slaughter of of others who oppose it than go ahead - at least I don't have conflicts in my head whether to support some of it/all of it/lying to myself that "the USSR wasn't really communist" like most of you do...

Only dictatorships, totalitarian nations, slaughter innocents for disagreeing. Im not defending USSR, Im defending the economic ideology of communism. Most dictatorships are economically communist, or at least considerably socialist, but there are many countrys who have socialist inclinations, which arent killing anyone.

@dudesonman4200 You're half right there. True that it's only an ideology if you look at it simply but in reality communism is a tool for dictators to emerge by gaining the support of the people. Also, communists want to dominate the world - even Karl Marx wrote that in one of his writings (I think it was the communist manifest). They can't just be satisfied with what they have they always undermine democratic regimes under the excuse of "oh but you have to accept us because of the freedom..."

I would never happily live in a communist nation, nor would I even support the existence of one, simply because of what you just said. It is impossible for a nation to adopt the economically communist ideology without quickly becoming a totalitarian nation. (Quite frankly, I wouldnt live in a nation which was only economically communist either, but thats beside the point). The point is, nations dont slaughter because of communism, they slaughter because of its sociological results.

You also have the highest standard of living in the world and thus plenty of time and energy for "rebelling." but when people in Communist countries who live in dire poverty, work 16 hour days, and survive on 700 calories a day- when they rebel, their "legitimate grievances" are not redressed, they are sent to prison camps.

I think the USA had a good start, being set-up by people of relatively noble principles (flaws included racism and genderism) but eventually capitalism will lead to a soulless society, controlled by oligarchs, which I think is becoming more and more apparent. Communism doesn't have a very good track record of being run with a democracy, and capitalism does (at least more so than communism). Force is what those historical "communist" historical figures used to gain control over their peoples' lives. But hey if it makes you happy then all power to you. There is hardly anything that you can research that is unbiased, so it's pretty much just a matter of opinion.

@itrainsinoctober It seems to be a matter of opposite point of views. Being from the US, certain parts of the country are a mess and have been getting worse for awhile now. With one of the highest prison populations in the world the system is broken and more capitalism isn't the answer. You on the other hand are anti-communist because of what you've seen in your country. It seems like Norway and Sweden have some of the best run societies on the planet.

There are no perfect countries (and never will be). But the FACT that communists EVERYWHERE had to build the walls, barbed wire fences, machine gun towers and shoot the people trying to escape just to force them to stay there shows pretty clear which ones are worse and which ones are better. Millions of people from communist countries "voted with their feet" and not just blabbered about it.

@Mauser9513 Socialism is the way how to acquire communism. Even if you don't believe that communism is utopia, socialism is based on class hatred. Besides, if you understood why I wrote it, I was replying to his comment that in communism I would be one of those taken to work camps, and I don't believe either of us were being entirely serious.
But from your channel, I see you in the US understand communism better than any of us in post-communist countries.

@frufruJ Frankly it's irrelevant where you are because there has NEVER BEEN A COMMUNIST COUNTRY. It has never been implemented, and hell, "Communist Country" is an oxymoron, there are no countries in Communism. And judging by your posts, I can very much so say, yes, I do understand Communism a hell of a lot more than you.
