  • Kind of odd hearing John sing this. I really love the Beatles. So versatile . :)

  • its cool to see how john goes about this

  • Isen't this when they were the quarrymen and not The Beatles with Pete Best?

  • i like green day's version better in my opinion but thats cause i like more fast paced punk rock, this is still really good

  • this is the best version in my humble opinion.

  • los dedos como piedra ,ladrones ,tendrian que dar todo lo que ganaron a chuck berry. las guitarras dan lastima ,el gusto del rock no se aprende se nace ,

  • ....rare.....?

What Beatles fan doesn't have this album? lol...

  • But Beatles didn't try to best Chuck, they were huge fans of his.

Beatles, Chuck and Rock n Roll 4ever

  • If it's from the Live at the BBC Disc 1 CD it is hardly rare, is it?

The album went double platinum in the UK and quadruple platinum in the USA. You call that RARE?

  • @liuzhou i was not aware. i wasn't even alive then. sorry about that but oh well.

  • yes this the late great john lennon singing. and a good cover. but think chuck berry adds something dirty and menacing

  • I <3 The Beatles!

  • EPIC!

  • Kobain killed himself, because he couldn't make it in the spiritual world, drugs ruined it. I'll have another cigarette.

  • what the hell did they slow this song down? The original is so much better.

  • I have not heard this before. The speed is a bit slow on the player. Good though.

  • Brilliant

  • I think Paul would have been better for this song, he does these kinda songs way better- check out 'Long Tall Sally', he's awesome in that

  • @boobyrooberts

    nah, george was their chuck.

    paul was their little richard.

  • @OropherThranduil on behalf of the people of Merseyside FUCK OFF! your a retard and your giving the Beatles a bad name.

  • @MrStraight2hell

piss of of beatles videos you fucking faggot.

that's going one step to far.

  • @OropherThranduil 1 step to far,i only live 10 mins away from the cavern,im going tomorrow to graffiti shit about u ,haha fag.

  • @MrStraight2hell

i hope police catches you and takes the half pound from you you own.

and sleeping under the bridge isn't really living there.

  • @OropherThranduil just jealous arnt ya lad,ha wots it like living in a shithole?

  • Wow! They do that song very well!

  • @AhanfordSangster90 It's actually John singing, but it's sort of easy to mix them up; their voices sound similar:)

  • @paperbackwriter1964nooo, only in the early days it can sometimes get a bit hard with john and george, but as a real fan it's always possible to even at most times think out the backing vocalists.

  • @OropherThranduil well it's just that if you listen closely to most of George's songs, you can hear his thick Liverpudlian accent. John has this too, but his voice is almost rounder and harsher, as opposed to George's sweet, milder voice. Just subtle differences.

  • @paperbackwriter1964

i know, about three years ago the singing made a problem for me, i mean i started listeining to them at that time and so for me it was sometimes hard to tell them apart in their moptop days, but by now i know every vocalist/backing vocalist by ear.

    i LOVE the liverpudlian accent.

  • @paperbackwriter1964 It's still hard to tell if it is John or George. I would say John since it has the raspiness of his voice, opposed to the nasal nature of George's voice. However, it does sound a lot like George due to the nasal tone and the fact that the singing is not on key, both of which were qualities in the early songs sung by George.

  • good to hear John singing this classic tune although it sounds inevitably white-washed

  • @Yeaahright

it just misses the old star club punk sound, listen to roll over beethoven from the star club tapes, that's pure untamed speed rock punk from 62, not a bit white washed, their star club shows must have been so great to see and hear.

  • Me encató. Pero hay que reconocer que la mejor versión de todas es la original con el maestro Chuck Berry...

  • this is def John hes soo cute :D and i like his voice

  • @AhanfordSangster90 sounds more like john, but you could be right.

  • Wish it was a little quicker, but you know. :P

It's still awesome! The Beatles are awesome.

  • i think almost ervery good band covered this song

i'm a beatles fan³ but i think the version of chuck berry a bit better

but thats a matter of opinion

    beatles 4 evar

    chuck berry 4 evar

  • it's alright. originals are usually better than the covers.

  • @savoytruffle96 Unless you're covering Dylan, then it's always better.

  • @savoytruffle96 Twist and Shout is way better by The Beatles than the original, I think almost every cover The Beatles did was better than the original, I think the guitar is easier to hear on this version by The Beatles.

  • @TheHaick I agree. They did a pretty good cover, but Chuck did it better.

  • @TheHaick every good band covered it b/c Chuck Berry was the creator of Rock N' Roll!

  • The Beatles singing?

    I only hear John singing...

  • Oh well, I'm satisfied with the title. You get the point, The Beatles are playing a cover....

  • Comment removed

  • @MusicMan20061210 Yeah this is the Beatles ,this is a bbc recording

  • the best ever

  • @jt123egypte

you suck, without younger bands covering him he would have been forgotten, just like little richard, by the 60s nobody listened to their music, but since all the young bands covered them there was the rock n roll revival of the late 60s.

  • coom is a dick

  • ???

  • MERRY XMAS

  • ok....haha :)

  • @KyleB1988 How is Coom?

  • Dunno why dont you ask him

  • @KyleB1988 Sorry typo on my part. That should be who, not how. Also I could not find what he wrote.

  • I love this version AND Jimi's

  • ditto.

  • es ist nicht wirklich die beste Interpretation, aber die, die es bringt ... :-)))

  • I envy the Beatlemaniacs who live in the U.S.! Where I live the only music you can buy in stores is very cruddy rap in spanish and other stupid things. Only once I walked in a video store and in the music video section I found 1 Beatles CD all the way at the back and on the bottom shelf. Covered in dust. No wonder why I thought I was the only person in the world who loved the Beatles when I recently became a fan, when I was 11.

  • on the bright side, there's always the internet....

  • Man,THIS is Rock'n'Roll!!!!!

  • @GeorgeHarrison7 I could not have said it better, myself.

  • what's so shame about

  • i love his voice in this song

  • THANK YOU FOR SHARING!! ;D ;D

  • How do you get this live at the BBC cd ? ... I never see it in stores .

  • It was released 1994. My dad bought it for me, so I wouldn't know. I don't see it in stores anymore, either, but you can find all the songs on the cd on Youtube.

  • Look on Ebay

  • Oh Yeah ! Good idea

  • if you live int he states, best buy has it in stock.

  • @bigdaddy1558

there's also their 77 live LP live at the hollywood bowl, it combines three concertsm from 64 and 65, it was never released on cd, and then there's the unofficial star club tapes.

and if you search the net you can find at least 50 complete beatles shows and the compete bbc tapes (450 songs).

  • Wow I never knew they covered this!

I've been looking for their version of the song Road Runner.

  • Go Johnny Go Johnny Go!!!

    Listen 2 Johnny sing that!!!

    Go Johnny Go!!!

BTW Savory Truffle is one of my favorite songs

  • I'm getting a good laugh out of the earlier exchange with N00bcirb200 - "What's the intro?" Yes, it IS a crime not to own the whtie album. Long story - had nothing to my name but a deposit on a mangy flat, bus fare to work for the week, a six pack, and the last of the money went to rebuying the white album. Picked up a working stereo out of the garbage to play it on, and slept on the floor. You've got to have your priorities straight. ;-)

  • Great song, great band... what else?

    Nice video! ;)

  • What's the intro?

  • what do u mean?

  • The song before Johnny B. Goode when the screen blends in. It sounds Beatles-ish with the voices and stuff, never heard it before though.

  • its Savoy Truffle from the Beatles White Album....not a very well known song from them

  • okay, thanks.

  • why don't you own the white album?

  • 1) Because I wasn't alive in the period when they performed

    2) Couldn't get my hands on it by now

    3) Is it a law or something owning it? :/ I mean, geeze, not everyone owns it :/ and today there are quite some people who don't even know it...

  • calm down, it's just a way of saying that you should buy this album, i wasn't alive then either... one of the best selling albums of all time too so a lot of people actually do know it.

  • Savoy Truffle is actually one of my favourite Beatles songs, I think it's really underrated.

  • john and the beatles coverd this song great.

  • Who singing? John ?

  • yep.

  • yes john is singing this.

  • singing, yes john is.

  • is this another version as the one normally found on youtube?

i mean this rocks more than the other version here on youtube.

  • the song was actually made by chuck berry. this is only a cover.

  • i know but there could probably me more than cover from them of this song.

i know that this is a berry classic.

  • yeah, i think it is the only one.

  • jupp, you're right, just downloaded live at the beeb, which has the complete bbc recordings from the lads, only one time performed in about 450 live songs.

(and all without screaming, hahaha, happy)

  • good song
