  • whats the best software to model 3d models?

    blender?

  • @XxDahamonnahxX blender is by far the best free!

  • @marketanarchist2011 so presumably if i "acquire" 3ds max, isnt it better>?

  • It took notch about 7 to create the first emulation of Minecraft.

  • I couldnt do that in 20.000 hours :)

  • Ok now slow down zoom in on code and let me see where to begin???

  • nice Vid and love the music ;)

  • lol i have an Xfire account...

  • Not my taste in music but very good for 8 hours :-)

  • you cut out the porn at minute 2

  • only 8 hours !!

  • DETHKLOK :) \m/

  • I can't believe you coded all that in 8 hours. Would take me a few days.

  • Very nice too! Reminds me of the kind of thing I used to do 20+ years ago when learning to program - I'd quite often sit at my desk and suddenly be made aware of the time by the birds waking up in the early morning and think to myself "S**T! I have to be at work in 2 hours!"

  • @dchurch24 whats ur real life job now? i mean after u learned so much to program and stuff did u keep improving it further in ur life?

  • Awesome!

  • Am I wrong? Can developers can make game without ANY 3D software?!

  • @NarekNitrogen Yes. Just takes a while.

  • @RishadanPort

For example what do you think do the developers of well known commercial games use 3ds max or any similar software or they just code all the models?

  • @NarekNitrogen They certainly don't code things from scratch. Sometimes they already have coded libraries in open gl to help them assemble models.

There are amazing softwares out there to already that have amazing interface and can make a scene very quickly. However, it may be useful to use open gl for optimization or to add functionality.

  • In movie animations for example they use high level tools like RenderMan.

  • I wish i could understand how to apply the math to do this. I mean wtf is a plane, I understand trig. How the hell do i make a bsp tree. I need help. Anyone interested in joining me message me and we can make a game engine. Its just not working with my intelligence alone.

  • Great video!

Would have been greater if you actually could provide some source code to the viewers or such!

  • I mean the 3d software!

  • What programs did you use?

  • Wow dude amazing!

That cranes ugly as can be but its still 10000x better than anything i can do XD

    +1

  • @vipersniper001 call of duty modules are made in a 3d programm the space are coded in c++ so actually it would take alot of time with a team of 5 but if you got a team of 100 i think the game would take 9months to make but alone it would take like 8 to 9 years :p

  • this music makes me listen to gaga

  • I wonder how he rendered the grass?

  • @jcs101194 Not that hard to render the grass. Just loop over the surface at evenly spaced intervals and draw an ellipse. For far away grass, draw less slices and stacks so it can run faster.

  • @RishadanPort Oh, I thought you just used quads to render the grass. Thanks for the response.

  • @jcs101194 I just want to clarify that i did not make this animation.

  • yeah you think that took along time to make. How long do you think it would take to make call of duty

  • this is cool but your physics is a little off, a 4 wheeler like that could not make 360 turns, or was your main focus functionality, awesome job though, a true code junkie sits there for hours all night coding rather that an hour in "3d software''

  • @PIKAMONjake

Well, it is a bit of a waste of time to manually model something on a vertex-by-vertex basis though lol.

  • @narutofan9999

mabey but if its simple,,, oh yeah 8 hours, damn, a wyswig would make it alot quicker

  • @PIKAMONjake

It could be based on a four-wheel differential drive, which makes sense as the front wheels don't turn.

  • Love metal, but this song sux

  • ugh thatz the worst part game programmers take such a long time to develop awesome games, if people knew what it was like firsthand (ive made a few 2d java games) then maybe they could respect the work that goes into making one

  • 8 hours?? That explains the delay of a launch of a game. :P

  • awesome

  • Shit, I can't even figure out where to start with opengl.

  • @ZomgGuitarz1234 Find an introductory tutorial. Once you've made a few little things, you'll know what to do with the framework. Then it's just a matter of scanning documentation for anything else you might need.

  • @Hoerwik Yeah, I've been looking up tutorials and think I might have created a working context (have no idea how to test it though...) through reading tutorials and looking at codes people have already made.

  • Hey man. I have a professional game development team and would like to know if you want to help with the openGL game engine we are currently developing. Message me if you are interested.

    Kind Regards,

    Mendi Meyer

  • better than the most simulations :D

  • Does anyone (who can program) want to code a game with me? It's a first person shooter. I want to make a multi player demo. If anyones interested, just comment a reply or inbox me.

  • wow that's sick :D

  • Dethklok, good choice!

  • HOW DO YOU MAKE OBJECTS? PLEASE TELL ME.

  • @dervish2173 What do you mean by objects? In the sense of object oriented programming you'd create a class and then create an object of that class. If that's what you meant.

  • @HaZaRdxScopeZ Say if I want to make a Highly detailed Weapon, where can I draw the weapon, and how can i put it into c++ to program it?

  • @dervish2173 Well the obvious solution would be to create it in some sort of 3d modeling software such as blender. Or you could take a more creating approach and do what the fella in this video did, he created each of the parts of the crane with shapes in opengl.

  • @HaZaRdxScopeZ But how can i put it into c++ if i make it in blender?

  • @dervish2173 Honestly man i cant explain it over text in a youtube comment youtube and google are very useful resources i recommend using them. :) Or a nice opengl book.

  • @HaZaRdxScopeZ lol thanks for the help though I really appreciate it.

  • Holy crap! You're awesome! Are you releasing the code anywhere? I'd like to see it!

  • hey man could like do this again but with a cannon?

  • hey dude can u upload the original video thats 8 hours length?

  • I've watched this video like 8 times and I still can't comprehend how 1337 you are

  • @DragonAge2k the point being its illegal to download torrents that the author of the program hasnt explicilty allowed you to do so :P

  • Wow nice made.

  • Absolutely awful music but really cool video/

  • XFIRE!

  • song name is birthday deathday by dethlok

  • really nice man

  • I'm sorry, but at around 0:30 - 0:40 were they talking about dealing weed in the chat?

  • you have GOT to teach me how to do that

  • MMm i seen an HUGE case

  • Awesome!

  • song name plz ?

  • @amir0shooter Can you fucking read?

  • In 8 hours you didnt take a break to eat or even take a pissbreak?

  • @vakten123 Use common sense please, thanks.

  • @vakten123 Suprising?

  • 50% chat = time / 2

    -.-

    pls change that :D

  • very nice work!

  • very hardworking c++ v impressive

  • nice video

  • nice music.

  • nice song! and video!

  • nice song!

  • @DragonAge2k The point on doing it the "harder way" is to basically make sure you can do it the "harder way"

  • @DragonAge2k haha

  • I want to be able to do this one day -.-

  • could you tell me what software you use to record the desktop please?

  • 8 hours? Geez. That looks extremely good.

  • @InertLoop You know what else looks "extremely good"? ...My penis.

  • @PyroTec21 U should. Its alot better but a little harder to use.

  • @PyroTec21

Huh? Allegro supports rendering in OpenGL. Of course that is only Allegro5, but if you haven't already you should move on to Allegro5 anyways, the old Allegro API is still from DOS times.

  • Very cool! Nice work :) The music sucks, but the vid and the final product is fantastic - thanks for sharing

  • hey i was wondering if you could email me the source code for this project i need to create a car in open gl is moving the background while we are moving into the plane

  • where is the porn?

  • i was wondering ones you learn how to use the code how do you learn how to like to create it for your games? you getting at what im saying like yeah you learn all other commands but then how do you then come up with more code like basically for your game and stuff sorry i don't know how to explain it but i hope you understand

  • @Distrub122334

    Learn and understand OOP

  • @InfowarVictim i dont get what is so special about OOP, could you explain why it is so useful, im doing c++ and all i see OOP is a way to organize code more effectively nothing else...

  • @Fatalsh0ts

How much programming experience do you have? OOP is something that is not immediately obvious to anyone. You need some experience do even understand the benefits, and then you still need to actually understand OOP to see the benefits. It's way more than code reorganization. In procedural programming you let new code call old code - in object oriented programming you also let old code call new code.

  • Terrible music.

  • @caesiume it's all an opinnion, my friend.

  • @caesiume

the short solo was good =)

  • @caesiume Just mute the video stuipid!

  • Xfire!! :D

  • Sweet. It would be awesome if you could pick up blocks with it! *Idea*

  • OMG imma buy this game for $10!!

  • @AndyHarglesis Andy, could you sound like more a cunt? Saying that, I had to look at your profile to see if you actually had the skills to justify your behaviour. Turns out you're a 13 year old girl (or an incredibly effeminate boy) with a profile filled with embarressingly child-like philosophies on subjects that only a 13 girl (or latent homosexual) would care about. I'd love to see some of the projects that a mathematical prodigy like yourself has created. Post a link or shut the fuck up.

  • @mikeyrt16 lol giggles...

  • @AndyHarglesis and now you have just opened your mouth to have all that dick poring i it. Post some crap you have done dude...

  • @AndyHarglesis dude as the 13 year old girl/homo kid you are i don't think you know shit about computers

  • @AndyHarglesis

Dick move right there, bro. If you really cared about providing advice, you should have sent him a PM, not post a comment. Regardless of your intent, that was really out of line.

  • @AndyHarglesis im pretty sure you couldnt type faster then even if you did slow down the video

  • @AndyHarglesis fuck you u motherfucking piece of pig shit

  • @AndyHarglesis Binaries + Timelapse or it didn't/couldn't happen.

  • @Aldeni1551 LOL why would you want the binaries for if I could upload a video recording the screen input or just upload a downloadable file of the modeling itself?

Or better yet make a response to this video and prove I can do it in less than eight hours(I feel like I should just to show that it's not too big a deal you just need to understand 3D better from the big picture).

Once this person(icoo44)understand computer architecture, literature then they will understand how 3D REALLY works.

  • @AndyHarglesis Okay, post the video of you making that using C++ in less than eight hours.

  • I'd like to know the algorithms that power this wonder of technology

  • Heh...

Man how much did the video weight ?

  • evil music = kittens killer

  • @AndyHarglesis

    prove it

  • And talk about slow, bud.

I made a similar 3D environment using my own built engine and make 3D objects using REAL math instead of OpenGL short cuts.

Took over 7 months, but at least I did it myself. :)

  • Why are you watching so many videos whilst recording?

    Unexperienced, huh?

  • @AndyHarglesis

i think he watched videos to watch how a crane looks like and how it moves

    \I smell some jealousy

  • @iemandmetgeenhoofd And no the videos that were watched were about open source game engines and programming info.

Clearly doesn't know what to do. And who doesn't know what a crane looks like? I find that excuse irrelevant and pathetic.

  • @AndyHarglesis

i do't know a crane looked like that we don't have those cranes in our countrie

  • hello,

Can u help me with my work to create a simple 3d game, if so plz let me know asap

    many thx

  • another openGL game engine watch?v=6l0HM0VvPSM

  • better then runescape!

  • @phiser018 than*

    stupid fuck

  • @phiser018 runescape fails

  • you the best ever what i seeeeeeeeee

  • i believe i speak for everyone here when i say,

    d0WNl04d l1NK PL0X

  • I fell out of my chair that was so cool.

  • the end product makes using this so simple but its not ...sadface

  • Love the music choice

  • I should record a video like this too, to show that this can be done a lot faster and better looking using my game engine.

  • dammit! I got stuck after about 3 ½ hours xD

  • Im never using that program... Good job though

  • Wow! Well done mate :) Thats is ooo good for 8 hours work!

Im just learning how to do all this programming C++ :)

  • He needs to create cool 3d graphics, and there will be cool looking game :)

  • lol barely a game

  • @twizy123 Let's see what you can do in 8 hours time.

  • @MrCoolUS UpsVK0GYoC0

+ a game publisher is interested

  • @twizy123 Your a game publisher?

  • @MrCoolUS ex-uni student with a game publisher interested in my work

  • @twizy123 That's... cool? That dosn't really take away the fact that this is 8 hours work, and OpenGL games usually take more than 8 hours regardless of the fact that you went through uni.

  • how many lines of c++?

  • How much meth did you smoke before recording this??

  • Wow, impressive

  • I want to be a programmar as well as other things. I know when i did visual basics, i love it when i complete an assignment. And i was bad in visual basics. Um...is Java C++ is the main language that i should learn? And is C++ really hard or just hard to learn.

  • @WhiteEmerald1991 Visual Basic is lame, C++ is the best way to go, first thing you want to do is learn Console Application programming, then Win32 programming, then a game library, like Irrlicht, OpenGL, DirectX, ect.

  • @WhiteEmerald1991 c++ is a very relatively simple programming language, the hard part is seeing where it fits into the big picture

  • ur awesome...I used to do DX9 years ago, but now I do PHP

  • wow i am really impressed. can you tell me what year you are in college and the class you did this for?

  • AMAZING! Try listening to this video with the song "Carly Camando - Everyday". I nearly fell off my chair.

  • Master, can i be ur student :)

  • Who would like to make a game? then why not join my 3d mmo development team! clickonme for more info and watchmyvid you cant miss this chance were looking for all sorts of ppl to join from programming to 3d modeling 2d graphic to music

  • PRO.

  • Nice work ;)

  • Awesome OMG Awesome OMG Awesome OMG Awesome OMG Awesome OMG

  • What Programs did you use to create its awesome im wanting to get into games programming and at the moment learning C++ and just curious what programs you used to create that 3D game with C++ code

  • @DarioAndDaniel

err... wat.. he is using Visual Studio C++ as his IDE, and he is using a graphics API, could be directx, opengl, etc; You dont need a specific API to create these things... and he doesnt use a program. He uses Brain, code, API's and tools.

  • what program is that?

  • haha he uses xfire ;P i love that program

  • do you used Dark GDK? When yes do you make a TUT? Please ; )

  • @cyberspartan11 looks to me he used visual studio :PP

  • @Mafiadude1

Dark GDK is a addon for visual studio.

  • It's cool, but that took 8 hours? Damn..

  • @Nikotiini69 thats how complicated games really are.

  • Game? Where? Just few polygons moving around, well for beginner it's good, but its far away from game
