Thanks a lot, Dany! I think it is a fantastic song and here in Spain had a remarkable success but... I agree, probably nobody knows it anymore... Thanks for watching and commenting!
you're a world class musician. i love your playing style. i can really feel the emotions flowing through all those notes. i enjoyed all your videos. thanks for sharing.
Thanks a lot, Jhun. You're right, I don't play anything that means nothing to me, I always play music with a certain significance in my life and therefore it is not hard to be connected with the music and to feel involved and committed when you play it...
Jesus, always a great joy to listen to your videos! I always find out interesting pieces to play so make sure you keep posting and playing all those guitars you have around there! Do you ever play acoustic guitars? I wonder as i have always seen you with classical. Take care.
Thanks, Gianni! Well, if I were half as expert as you with the acoustic I would've posted hundreds! But I'm afraid my technique is not too compatible with steel strings... But I love its sound so much than I try it once and another... Perhaps someday. Thanks again, buddy!
Fantastico! I love Brazilian jazz ~ especially from the '60's...I've never heard this before, but I love your arrangement - your style is so easy-going, peaceful, catchy - I am on the beach in Rio!
Thanks Christine! You always so kind with your hurricane of compliments, my dear. Certainly it is difficult not to start tapping or dancing with this one. Brazilian people have something different, that's sure. thanks so much, my friend.
Thanks! As you're usually interested in Engliish titles, I'll say "Poxa" is an Protuguese interjection to express surprise when you meet someone else suddenly. It is suppose to be a sudden and brief encounter between two old lovers...
Thanks too! though I did not asked for the translation but you are very sensible to do so and I really appreciate...actually I just guess it was not really important word...God bless my friend!
Deprimido?
Eric, I would've never said this song is your style, but in your voice even "Happy birthday" sounds as a masterpiece, LOL. Some other people have told me the same: this song sounds them somehow, but I think it is only due to its simple and catchy harmony, because I don't know any other version in English. Thanks for dropping by, mate.
Another hard job for me. Sometimes I wish I would be rich just to have the right time to work on this kind of transcriptions. My saturdays and sundays of the follow two mounths are already full. Stop it Jesus, I need to go on the beach with my son...ah,ah,ah,ah,,,Nice and lovely arrangement jesus, as you always do.
Thanks, Angelo! If we both were rich should be playing guitar together all day long and we'd contract someone else to transcribe our fantastic versions. Imagine... Beach and kids are first, my friend, I promise to be good. Thanks A LOT, buddy.
Another great one. The arrangements you do are very good. You seem to be 'raising the bar' for good performances. Thanks for sharing your time with everyone. John
Ah Jesus, well I hear that as more Bossa than Pop, and I hear it with colour, with flair and with your personality. And you are able to perform this stuff in the difficult keys, and that's what sets you apart. That was a performance typical of you: Brilliant, passionate.
Thanks a lot, Shaun. Well, it is quite recent that I feel free to play almost anything, not neccesarily written before (I had never arranged music before YouTube), and I'm trying to make up the lost time playing very old melodies with a espeical meaning to me, as it happens with this one. So anybody should feel passionate and involved, when your commitment with the song goes beyond a simple preference and becomes a memory in full. Thanks again, buddy, you are unique.
Your video gave me the link to the original vocal version by Gilson De Souza which I'd never heard. And when I heard that, I found more depth and meaning to your version. And of course the usual thing happened... I had to listen three more times, then add it to favourites for another listen tomorrow :-)
Damn, i know i've heard that before, but i'm almost certain it wasn't a brazilian version. do you know if somebody re-did that in English? could just be the familiarity of that falling fifth pattern.
Well, there are a couple of (very corny) Spanish versions , but I don't know any in English... Again the musical google should be useful ;-) Thanks for dropping by, mate.
