  • 59 clarinets?!?! holy crap!

  • 59 clarinets...good lord

  • High School? Wow, you put some college marching bands to shame! Keep up the good work--very impressive! I assume you won the festival!

  • @kevmadisboom I would say many high school bands put college bands to shame, just because college is really meant for crowd pleasing music and most have to learn new shows weekly, while a competitive high schools show has much higher design and demand standards.

  • damn i ashamed to be a drum major at my high school now after seeing what your band can do. i wish i could be in this band honestly. go clarinets

  • YESS GO CLARINETS im from Canadas Musical ambassadors, the Burlington Teen Tour Band, and these guys are AWESOME

  • we the we the besssst :D this was my freshman year. <3

  • The composer is Gary Gilroy . . . except for their 2nd movement, that would be the love theme from one of the Pirates of the Carribean movies.

  • omg..... this is amazing... XD i cant belive i can ehar the flutes XD so awsome!!!

  • whose the composer

  • I only wish there was just a little bit more cleaning.

  • yeahhh budddy as a fell0w alumni WE THEE BESTTT lma0

  • In the beggining is that a trombone solo or french horn?

  • French Horn.

  • HOLY FUCK they're so great. A band that knows their shit.

  • 0:33 is that DRY ICE?! that's epic.

  • about how many people are in this band? Simply AMAZING!!

  • This year.. About 230 people are in the Moanalua High Marching band now.

  • Incredible drill.

  • That was great, and the spectators were pretty enthusiatic.

  • this marching band is so cool =D

  • If this band competed in BOA Grand Nationals, they would most def make finals

  • u r so right!!!!! they should make it to finals =D

  • god bless this drill writers heart!

  • This is amazing. Way better than my high school best show. Look up Bayside high school marching band 2007.

  • Bayside? In Mississippi? Dude! I go to Hancock! AH! Man this was the most amazing thing I have EVER seen! JESUS! I wanna go to that school now T.T

    AMAZING!!!

  • nice man nice :)

  • HOw did they flash?

  • i think it was their emblem on their uniform.

something shiny so when they make a sudden movement it flashes.

    ~i think though~

  • o and no they were not on our hats...it was on our chest...on our jacket to be more precise...FYI

  • ok WE flashed by putting half of a camera attached to a button on our uniform and all we did was push the button...I am in that show and still am in this band so don't say I'm wrong! ;)

  • Gotta' love the obnoxious drum break. Our band is doing this show. Look up Seymour High School Marching Band Pirates.

  • these guys are awesome!

we are still working on our routine

  • Our highschool band is doing this show for this year! I cannot wait, I'm on colorguard so i'm excited to see what we'll do with this! Great job by the way.

  • Its coed colorguard and coed rifles.

  • to be on color guard and throw the flags, do u have to be a girl. or can u be male? it looks sooooooo cool. the whole school must be in marching band. thats crazy.

  • according to moanalua's color guard rules and i'm sure this applies to other color guards out there. you don't have to be in band or orchestra to be in their color guard. usually males who join the color guard use the rifles as a primary equipment, but guys can use flags too. :)

  • Sooo big. Sooo many guard. lol.

  • The Band Is amazing. But Color gaurd needs a little work.

  • the band is amazing, and so is the color guard. this is the closest color guard that i've seen on here that displays and act like DCI color guard. they are at times not together but, they are really known for their technical choreography. maybe that's why they are off at some times. but still one of the best on youtube. :]

  • WOW....I can't believe this is a high school band!!! AMAZING!!!

  • Moanalua, home of the BEST band in Hawaii.

  • Amazing Sound!

  • WOW LOVE IT

  • this is excellent

  • Sweet, thats the show my schools doing this year! I shud get the trumpet solo/duet with baritone thing. Neway, the drill in this vid looks insane, mostly cuz of how well it's executed.

  • fyi...Ronald Reagan didnt get Bands of America Grand National Championships...they got 2nd in 2003 and 2005 i believe...but i know for a a fact not first...though they did deserve it no doubt dont get me wrong lol

  • the only thing i really dont like is the color guard, jeez...i mean its cool when they are perfectly in time but not here

  • wow im in my HS marching band...we are ranked in top 20 in the nation (Clear Brook High School) in marching and watching this video makes me jealous, you guys are great!!!

  • WOW!!!!!!! That was the best performance I have seen in a very long time. I can't believe that you guys are just a high school. Your performance was astonishing! Fantastic job Band!

  • Very Impressive.

  • I wish I was here for this show. Everyone talks about how much fun it was.

  • i would have to say tha last minute was the most exciting!!!!!!!!!!great job band~!!!!

  • You guys don't hit the right spots on time, big spaces, some curves are to pointy. Everything else is fine.

  • i think you think that they don't hit the right spots on time because the audio and video are out of sync. :]

  • wow...amazing

  • cleanest high school ive ever seen

  • look up Ronald Reagan Highschool marching band, they are the cleanest iver ever seen...they won the Band of America Grand National Championships

  • jesus man.

This is by far one of the best high school marching bands i've seen. They're colorguard doesn't suck like ours, and their sound is great.

  • I wish I could've seen that Tenor feature. It looked cool.

  • you can see the tenor feature in our closer video just search moanalua pirates and it should be there :)

  • haha, i love how you can see how messed up the lines are at the high angle camera...

  • OMG, that band is friggin huge... and there friggin haulin ass

  • this is by far one of the best colorguards ive ever seen

  • I love this show like no other. HAHA oh god, the very end at 8:45/8:46 I died laughing. I feel so bad for the kids on the 25 (right side of field) that have to HAUL to get to their spots. hahaha

  • What I like most about this band, unlike so many BOA shows I've seen, is that they let the band speak for itself, rather than have a million and a half props or electronic amplifiers. Kudos.

  • I think the color guard is nessassary to a marching band. They are great for visual effects and are great crowd pleasers. And, in contests, crowd apeal is a big deal. (French Horn. Rebel Pride Marching Band, TN.

I like the show. great job

  • Me personally i find no interest in color guard...its not old style...i find them annoying as hell cause they can never get their flags and sabers together...ever..the band is great though...love the show and as a marcher myself (Trombone, Clear Brook High School...Texas) and my school placing 11th at the BOA Super Regionals Championship i say this show is by far the best i have seen, ever...its in my favorites love it Moanalua HS...keep it up!

  • what about LD Bells marching show this last season? they got 2nd did they not?

  • which competition? at BOA they got first and at UIL they got 2nd or 3rd...cant remember

  • BOA Grand nationals... sorry i didnt specify... but i thought that their show was the shit im not gonna lie...

  • I'm From Chula vista California and I thought our state is good.

  • great video man. Loved it.

  • I think my band was sitting fourth from the left in that blue section over there. We stunk... -_- And it's a shame that you can't see the ship's wheel at the beginning of the show.

And yeah, Rainbow Invitational 2006 was last night so there should be a new show up. It was the 'Passion of Red.'

  • There's a ships wheel?

  • Yeah. In the first formation, as they're lined up to look like a ship, the person in the very front was holding a ship's wheel.

But yeah... About the only way to have seen it, was if you were there.

  • OMG That was really good. Tha first note was great and thats wat really captures an audience. Keep up tha great work !!!

  • wow i really like the visuals go ahs tho =p

  • We faced a group that played this show just 3 days ago, and we beat them pretty bad overall. They placed 5th and we got 2nd. Their drumline whipped us though. But I don't know how we would have done against them though. They're marching would've killed us. But I'm pretty sure our brass section would've outstripped them. We have like somewhere around 150-160 on the brass line, and the sound is amazing, college level.

  • cool, i sent this to my band directer!!!!

  • My all time favorite marching band on youtube, crazy, love it guys, especially the 1st song

  • Pretty good show overall. I saw many instances of spacing issues throughout the band. Guard is overall good, but at times they are off by almost two beats from each other. Nice big sound from a big band. However, I would've like to hear some more woodwind involvement. The straight line drill is marched very cleanly. The music and the drill have little to no correlation, however. Overall, very nice show, though.

  • OMG Wow GO MARCHING BAND!!! I hope my band gets to look as good as yours. Good luck at all your competitions.

  • I'll give you credit for the show, but it was NOT the greatest. I played in the THS marching band from 1996-1999, and I have seen better, but I will give you props, although, as our instructor put it, "Practice till you can't practice no mo', then practice some more!"

  • so fuckin what if it wasn't the greatest, it don't fuckin matter, it's only for the people who like it, so if YOU don't like then dont fuckin watch it bruh, like we say in Hawaii, "Ainokea" .

  • hey, chill the F*** out!!! comments are comments, this was meant as a CONSTRUCTIVE critique. So, as we say in the states, if you don't have something NICE to say, don't say it at all... CHILL!!!

  • I'm goin with you on this one.

  • that was pretty freekin sweet, loved the drumline feature on the second song. awesome

  • omg...that was amazing...

  • wow big band. our band is so small that its as big as the little follow the leader thing at 2:42 at the front.yep its that small

  • Jesus Christ, the color guard is awesome. Band is genius as well. I'm from Hawaii, but I was away at college at the time. Wish I could've been there - looked like an amazing show.

  • ahh that was soo cool at the end when the color guard was all running in between the lines. lol yay for MoHS MB!!

  • I have to be honest...I was a little disappointed when you didn't continue with the Robert W. Smith at the beginning, but then pirates played and I was ok. Pretty good show overall, one of the few big highschool marching bands that does some degree of difficulty in its marching rather than "here's a block, let's rotate, separate, make another block, wash rinse repeat". Now all you have to do is fix that intonation in your soprano part. Also, great visual effect with the color guard.

  • its wasn't the jurrasic park intro

  • how did you do the special effects? I'm guessing the fog was from a fog machine or other like device. but what was the flashes from the band during the perc break?

  • The flashes were a special flashing unit built by our band parents for that segment of the show ^_^

  • strobe lights on the marchers.

  • the way the lights reflected on the horns made it shine like that

  • Holy Mother of Pearl! That was incredible! I'm from Tecumseh, Mi, and am in a marching band myself. That was completly amazing! Tell me-- do you guys also not like your color guard? cause so far it seems universal that they're annoying =P But out of all seriousness...wow. Pirates, no doubt, too! Way to go guys, and keep up the good work!

  • We absolutely love our colour guard :)

  • lol, that's a first =P j/k, of course...or am I?

  • I don't see why a band wouldn't like their colour guard... they're awesome :(

  • Our colorguard seem to be very complainful-- and for a while got special treatment, when most of us think they should be treated the same during band camp-- all should be marching, no matter the condition: heat, weather, bordom, or anything. But of course, when they work without complaining, and stay focused, and all of that, they're great, like any other member.

  • I like this.
