The Midnights had a ton of scaffold matches but they were usually around 12-15 feet high. This was for a ppv and the Crocketts wanted a huge one so this was around 22' feet up.
Jim talked about this in a few shoot interviews. Big Bubba was supposed to have caught him on the way down, and missed, causing Jim to tear pretty much everything in his right knee. At first Bubba didn't pick him up because he though Jim was shooting, and playing it off, until Jim yellled at him "pick my ass up right now" (Which you can barely make out)
@OLee82 He was "chased" up there and the idea was he was going to be "dropped" off the scaffold. Bubba was supposed to catch him, but obviously missed.
@JohnACorp782 They had WAY more than one. They wrestled practically every day of the week. Plus they had storytelling and psychology and actually drew heat. People would try to KILL Cornette, legit. So trust me, this is pretty hardcore.
@KingKenny527 It was a scaffold match, they built up the rivalry between the Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton & Dennis Condrey) & The Road Warriors, or L.O.D as some people like to call them, and it started when The Road Warriors went to Japan and Hawk breaks his leg, but before that, it showed a "vignette" of L.O.D throwing pumpkins off a scaffold. They got the match because James E. Cornette couldn't interfere because he's afraid of heights.
Lame. Not worth the pop.
