@crazytacostudios Nice review ,I have a few question , 1.How much it weighs.2 If i use it in the temperature around 20-30c am i going to burn inside ?
@absolutelycanon 1. the tent weighs about 7-8 pounds, too heavy to backpack. unless you divide up the tent between a couple people. 2. in those temperatures, this tent will get toasty, especially if you have it set up in the sun. keep it in the shade :)
Very nice review, buddy. I think I'm going to buy one. I'd just like to know about the ventilation without using fan. I live in Brazil in tropicals temperatures so I need a fan and a cool tent. I have another tent but 2 hours after sunrise inside it seems like hell. Very very hot!
@DanielMelo86 this tent is entirely mesh on the inside, and circulates air very well. if you set it up in the sun though, it will get VERY hot VERY fast
I´m from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I choose NORTHLAND Bike 3 instead this aewsome coleman. This coleman is much modern than bike 3 from northland but i think northland is superior because I tested it under extreme conditions. Anyway, this is a very nice video, congratulations man!! Thanks for the info, because bike 2 & 3 have a place on the roof to put de flashlight like it should be. Don´t worry, u live in a great conuntry and i live in argentina.
@1newbucketheadcover1 it does not. this tent has a full rain fly, so the fly covers the enire tent. and ive never understood the small door in the back
@1newbucketheadcover1 the tent shouldnt leak as long as youre careful with the rain fly and dont drag it across the ground or anything. this tent could hold two twin airbeds no problem. or, if you really want some extra space, you could get the hooligan 4. the hooligan 2 is an ok tent according to reviews, but its not as large as this. its not freestanding either. that means it will fall over if it's not staked.
nice review. bought this tent summer '09 and still have no complaints. also agree with the no lamp or lantern hook. i just use the Coleman magnet lamp..... cheap, sturdy and fairly compact light source. The Coleman magnet fan works good to circulate the air too on those hot nights.
That was a very good review. I apreciated the fact you showed pretty much all views about it. I am also a scout and wondered how small it is rolled up? I didn't like how my old tent was so small (I am 6 foot) and didn't protect from the rain well.
@AustralianLabrador the dimensions of the tent in the package are 32X7X7 inches. it packs up very easily. as for you're height problem, this tent is 8 foot in length, so youre good on that. s for rain, unless youre in a hurricane or the tents 20 years old, it won't let a drop inside. for just 1 or 2 people, this tent is a mansion
nice tent, good review. don't listen to the haters. Your sleeping bag is what keeps you warm not your tent. The tent helps but its all about the sleeping bag.
I have seen 2 reviews where people said it leaked at the points where the poles connect to the rain-fly via the velcro straps. How have you faired in the RAIN...not drizzle but actual rain? Thanks.
@onibastard I bought this tent last summer and went camping 3 times with it. Once it rained 2.75 inches in 12 hours! We slept just fine and were dry as a bone! There could be some water dropping in the tent from condensation, but that's only because people do not align the poles and the seams of the tent properly. Spend 5 extra minutes in properly setting up your tent and you will have no problem whatsoever! Great car camping tent, but not for backpacking!!!
Good review. I am looking for a good late fall and early spring tent and it looks like this one probably won't do it for me (it gets cold in Minnesota). But, thanks for the review so I don't go through the process of buying it, freezing, and then taking it back!
I just took this tent back today... I froze my arse off in it because the wind would come under the rain fly and through the tent (since the whole thing is mesh)... Thinking about getting the coleman sundome...
@MooUnit93 no, but the only difference as far as i know is that the hooligan 4 9x7 feet compared to this one being 8x7 feet. theyre pretty much tthe same tent.
Good review - better review than some magazine reviews. I like it how you mentioned what you don't like about it, like the absence of a flashlight hook at the top. Bravo.

@85slomo yah, this isnt much of a winteer tent, buts theres a lot you can do to help keep heat in the tent.

I curious, have you ever encountered a heavy rain with the tent? If so, how did it do keeping you dry?
devilslayer888 1 year ago
