Average speed of a 1lb projectile over 650' is 450mph, so muzzle is much higher. The 5lb chunk of steel, at this speed, generates 34,000lbs of force. Of course, these are all perfect world calculations. Oh, and pressures are 90 to 120psi
It seems like you can go much higher than 120 psi with that, I'm really surprised that this is the pressure you are using. I was guessing that you were using around 500 psi.
Donate to my Paypal account, and I'll buy as big a compressor as you want! I'm looking into using refrigerator compressors for air. They can go higher in pressure but are slow. I'll also need to brew up a new pilot valve, as the current is only rated a 120psi.
Muzzle velocity at 120psi is 571fps, proven with chrono recently.
Yes, only change from the norm is the barrel feed is ported out the side instead of straight ahead like a normal coaxial. I'm in the process of building a new one using 3.5" ports from the reservoir instead of the current 2". MORE POWER!
yes I think so, Ill try and heat one up, cheers.

OMFG. That is a serious cannon. You *must* publish the details on your valve! I have to have one of these and I know one hell of a tool and die guy.

hey i just made mine out of copper and put 500psi in it, shoots out of sight uses nitrogen. cool vid.

nice cannon is that a 2in barrel, what is the volume of the tank

I'll be building a coaxial cannon like this one soon but with pvc and I'm going to try to evacuate the barrel and put a shatter window at the tip.

How much pressure is that? What kind of speeds and energy do you predict it outputs at that pressure?

If you use copper pipe you can fill it with a lot highter presser

That would appear to be a chamber sealing valve. Correct?
