What kind of snare is that? That's the best sounding snare I've ever heard.

its a pearl brass, free floating snare.. i use a 40 strand snare wire and a dampening ring on top (very necessary due to the brass overtones) remo skins, top tuned to a medium tension, bottom tuned to medium-tight.. and the mixer helps, i add a touch of reverb.
