I love the way this album is a celebration of rebellion, violence and sex. Unholy is about the power evil has over men, Take it Off is about watching girls strip, Tough Love is about sadomasochistic sex, Spit is about violent sex, Domino is about another woman, Heart of Chrome is about revenge on a traitorous lover, Thou Shalt Not is about defying a preacher, Paralyzed is about...something unpleasant, and I just Wanna is about forgetting an annoying woman. Only two pleasant songs are here.

And I guess you couldn't call "Carr Jam 1981" "unpleasant", what with it being an instrumental and all. Great analysis of the album, though...Revenge has long been one of my favorite KISS albums, and it's very rare that I find someone else who knows it well enough to talk about it like that.

@eagerbeaver69 well first off they didnt have peter criss for the elder album secondly, Revenge was the best non makeup album of kiss and i think its in the top 5 for best kiss albums. But Revenge was a different side of kiss and i think they pulled it off. but hey everyone has there own opinion

The c/d "carnival of caos is actually called "carnival of SOULS" ... and "revenge" came out in the 90's...not the 80's! I saw KISS on the Revenge tour when they came to the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, SC in October 1992. Faster Pussycat and Trixter opened. It was an awesome show, as always. And this time, they were allowed to shoot pyro. When they came through on Hot in the Shade, the fire marshalls banned the pyro. Why, I don't know. Kind of backwards if you ask me.
