I loved this movie as a kid and it still is my fav. My video is completly different to this LOL mine has A bugs life, and the music video Kiss the Girl from the singer Peter Andre. 01:13 LOL she was in Enchanted as Sam she was so funny in it .

Actually, The Little Mermaid did stay on the shelves on home video until 1991, contrary to what everyone else says. Wikipedia says that both The Little Mermaid and Peter Pan got awards for their packaging.

@Beatstylz Then you must've saw its original video release from 1990. I posted the opening and closing from that tape, too. It didn't stay on the shelves for long, though, because of an objectional part of the cover art, which I'm pretty sure most Disney fans know about.

Pretty neat variation to the usual previews, though the CGI fish are kind of cheesy. I'm also surprised it has NO Disney video logo whatsoever; I was at least half-expecting the 1991 "gold" WDHV logo at the beginning or something (as 1998 was an odd year for logos on the Masterpiece Collection releases)

I actually have this VHS and I always watch this part - I mean the Mulan trailer - love it!

Awe, my eyes really did get moist! This brought back a tun of my must happiest memories from when I was 4 in 1998! But I haven't seen it since because when I was 5 my mom gave my video to someone else. But this made me so happy! Thanks for posting!

I used to have the 1998 VHS, but I'll find it again soon. I didn't really like the music video at the end because you couldn't hear "Under the Sea" during the credits! That's why I prefer the 1990 VHS ending.
