  • MJ was one of the greatest human beings to ever walk the face of this earth. not ghandi, not mozart, and not george washington! humans have known to have existed for at least 200,000 years and michael was the only exeception that really made an impact on the world. worlds population 6 billion. michael jacksons fans 6 billion! at least people knew who michael jackson was. not everyone in the world knows ghandi or really cares for ghandi!

  • @mukaikof well i guess adolf hitler was one of the greats to according to you. who doesnt know of hitler?

  • @ctait96 hell no, no one cares about adolf hitler either

  • Never trust a woman. Never sit alone with a woman even if it may be your mother, she may tempt you. Do not sit alone with your daughter, she may tempt you. Do not sit alone with your sister, she may tempt you.

    -M.K.Gandhi

  • Dr. B.R.Ambedkar was always bigger than Gandhi is every field.

Ambedkar was Intelligent Gandhi was folly

  • Harijan Gandhi was totally fabricated leader and saint. Baniya Birla was behind this to make him the Freedom fighter. Today's Indian history is totally congress fake history. Whoever with congress they became hero and whoever not with congress became villain. Understand the fact and real history. Gandhi became leader because of Congress and Baniy Birla advertisement.

  • Harijan Gandhi was pedopile , casteist minded and he was believing in Hindu Caste System.

Harijan Gandhi was the spoon of Bramham. He was working to survive the superiority of Brahmin in the Hindu caste system.

Hindu caste system is worst as ever in the world. This caste system is inhuman system, where people has no value.

This caste system is greatest insulting of human being and Gandhi believing in such a caste system.

  • Gandhi was a good man,I wish I had his wisdom

  • Sushila Nayar was only 15 when she came to the Sabarmati Ashram and then became Gandhi’s intimate companion, with some periods of alienation and remove, for the rest of his life. Gandhi claimed that Nayar was a natural brahmachari, having observed it from childhood. They bathed together and even used the same bath water, but Gandhi assured everyone that he kept his “eyes tightly shut.”

  • Gandhi called Saraladevi his “spiritual wife” after “an intellectual wedding,” and he reported that he bathed “in her deep affection” as she showered “her love on [him] in every possible way.” Kasturba Gandhi had refused to wear khadi—the homespun and hand woven garments that Gandhi made famous—but Saraladevi became the Mahatma’s most elegant khadi model. Kumar describes them as “lovelorn teenagers with stars in their eyes,” and depicts Saraladevi as

  • Esther Faering, a young Danish missionary, was the next major love in Gandhi’s life. From her very first visit at the Satyagraha Ashram in 1917, Kumar describes Faering as “completely hooked on” Gandhi, and as with Millie Polak, “an instant chemistry developed” between them. Gandhi “experienced an intensely personal passion for Esther,” and she praised him as the “Incarnation of God in man.”

  • When Millie finally broke off their 3-year affair, Gandhi’s attentions turned to Maud Polak, Henry’s sister. Maud worked with Gandhi at Phoenix Farm as his personal secretary until 1913. In a letter to Henry, Gandhi described Maud seeing him off at a railway station: “She cannot tear herself from me. . . . She would not shake hands with me. She wanted a kiss. [This incident] has transformed her and with her me.”

  • Kumar describes their first contact as follows: “Gandhiji and Millie started conversing through their eyes. They made a pact between them immediately. Poor Henry was left stranded.” As with all of his female friends, Gandhi insisted that he and Millie be sisters or alternatively that he be her father, but after they were together in London in 1909 without Henry, Gandhi dared to suggest that he was a substitute husband

  • Before Gandhi started his brahmacharya experiments in 1938, he had a string of intimate relationships with European and Indian women. While he was in South Africa, Gandhi fell in love with Millie Polak, the wife of Henry Polak, both of whom lived with Gandhi at Phoenix Farm

  • Just a final note: To anyone who sincerely believes that Gandhi or his adherents are naive for being anti-imperial pacifists, let me ask you: Do you think you are wiser than Albert Einstein, often called 'the smartest person in the world'?

Because Einstein himself had nothing but praise and admiration for Gandhi, calling him the leading political mind of his era and stating that his personal philosophy was a model that ought to be emulated by all.

  • Final) You are approaching the issue from the classic pessimist's POV: "How can an empire that can't be beaten militarily possibly be beaten non-militarily", when in fact, the two approaches are fundamentally different. Approach 1 is metaphorically fighting fire with fire, while Approach 2 is circumventing the militaristic posturing of the oppressor entirely, making him see the indignity of his own actions and damaging his own morale. They can't even be directly compared.

  • Good to listen to him - and the full version from following the link given - is even better. However this version sounds like it is being played too slowly?

  • Gandhi used to sleep naked with young women to test his celebacy, such a lunatic he was. He is a fake hero of Bharat.

  • @ashutoshl684 rumors.

  • @ashutoshl684 I have heard about that too on Pen N Teller show, there's a book written on it which was not allowed to be published in India...talk about fuckin democracy, and also from my dad. hahahhaah.

  • I know there are lots of envious people in the world.

  • @mamapsilousta4 plz. dont appreciate urself...........

  • @sekhongjsingh all this goes 4 u............

  • Not Mahatma but Un-Mahatma Gandhi

  • @martiannational You are mistaken.

  • @martiannational u have a real bad knowledge.....

  • @martiannational What about the freedom of other countries(south africa, etc) What about the millions he inspired? How about you get your head out of your ass, and realize what an amazing man he was.

  • @0allysa0

So was the case for all other colonies too. British and West's economy was collapsing post-WW2, which naturally led to their "exit".

What inspiration? oh... a stupid idea that a mighty aggressor/colonizer with the state of the art weapons can be defeated by rallying and burning our own clothes.

  • @martiannational THAAAAAANKKK FUCKIN YOOU! SHIT. AT least somebody's gota brain on youtube. All these Ghandi followers talking about how he got us the Independence from some ruthless rulers who ruled the damn world by only turning his other cheek when they slapped on one of em. You would really have to be half brained and not know any history to believe that crap.

  • @martiannational: Firstly, they are not "fans" - he was not a rock star - they are philosophical adherents. Secondly, your conception of "plain common-sense" is simply YOUR OWN opinion; not a commonly-held fact.

Most of the people who believe what you have stated are self-centered Western nationalists who just cannot bare that their empire was compromised by such a diminutive, unarmed man. They NEED to rewrite history to save face, and the chronological overlap provides the perfect opportunity.

  • @BeverlyHills2ndGen

    1. Post war British Economy collapse was just a chronological overlap

    2. British QUITTING all their colonies held at that time were just a coincidence

    3. World-wide anti-colonial anti-occupation sentiments post-WW2 post-Hitler post-Holocaust are just fictions.

    4. Various British parliamentary reports suggesting the Govt to quit India before it starts to implode on civil wars are all fabricated.

    Cont...1 of 2

  • @martiannational:

    1) Pressure to allow independence was steadily increasing over decades, both from India and within Britain (many liberals, students, labourers sympathized with anti-colonial movements). It was a culmination of nearly a century of events, not a mere byproduct of 7 years of war

    1 of 4

  • @martiannational:

    2) You're mixing up cause and effect: Gandhi's movement directly inspired or strengthened anti-colonial movements around the world. The fact that many occurred around the same time doesn't discount its uniqueness; it just goes to show the outward extension of its power.

  • @martiannational:

    3) Things didn't suddenly happen because of WW2: Latin America was almost entirely independent even before WWI, and huge waves of anti-imperialist sentiment arose in Europe following WWI. Regarding India, look at the Sepoy Rebellion way back in 1857 and tell me the anti-occupation sentiments in Gandhi's time arose spontaneously.

    3 of 4

  • @BeverlyHills2ndGen

    ...2 of 2

    5. Various British agencies'(Check archives) green flag confirmation of India completely sucked out of all it's wealths and resources are just doctored.

Please read on how aggressive, ruthless British were 2 natives in their various colonies b4 even thinking of a possibility of confronting them with arms, let alone by peaceful means. I don't want 2b dat naive 2 believe dat this guy got d freedom against such a big power by burning clothes and walking/fasting.

  • @martiannational They did not leave South Africa and just to remind you, Brits had won the war.

  • @martiannational world war 2 was 1939 to 1945 you bell end the british couldnt cope with sikhs who were getting stronger that is why they chipped from india, thats the english for you, that is where they got their wealth from, the british were dirty scum bathing whole families in one dam bath tub eating bread and soup!!!!

  • Gandhi united a country as diverse as India. Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, and the rest, we have a great culture to be proud of. Gandhi is part of that culture, and we are so lucky to be able to say that =)

  • finally i heard de voice of deepest ocean.........oh.....mera bharat..mahan hai....

  • @smano555 all this goes 4 u.........

  • Many of us are used to seeing images and pictures of Gandhi. Infrequently do we hear his voice. It is, indeed, a full and robust voice. It doesn't quite match my conception of what he would sound like. I guess I accustomed to cheap Indian impersonator who speak daintily in a thin, squeeky voice. Indeed, contrast Gandhi's voice with that of recordings of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi when he was with the Beatles.

  • Indeed

  • all my respect...great man..

  • happy birthday gandi. we will always remember you........will never forget you

  • happy birthday!

  • what a great belief .

one god one race peace for all

  • happy gandhi jayanti

  • Islam never united 200 Kingdoms.Ancient Persia imported gold coins from India and in return they allowed Indians to set up trading unions across ancient Persia.Ancient India....which includes Afghanistan Pakistan, Kazakhstan,Uzbekistan and Bangladesh were very rich in it's resources both natural and commercial. Now please don't try to prove great ancient Islamic Persian genius OMAR KHYAM wrong.

  • I really feel very sorry for Iran. Their great religion Zorastrianism was completely wiped out by Islam. They recognized this only in the 20th century and changed their name from Persia to Iran ("land of the Aryan"). Too bad, they will never be able to restore their ancestral religion.

  • @SuperKinja i really feel very sorry for India, their great religion Buddhism was wiped out by a sophisticated Hindu cultural attack, the realisation of this great loss was recognised by the inclusion of Ashokas Chakra in the Indian flag. this threat unfortunately hasn't passed, the decent and tolerant Buddhists in Nepal are under daily political and religious attack from the swarms of Hindutva migrants heading towards the border, let us all pray for those wonderful and distraught people.

  • @popinjay3000 LOLS NOBODY GOES TO NEPAL .. TALKING AS IF NEPAL IS THE AMERICA DAT INDIANS WUD GO THERE IN HORDES HAHAHAHA LOLS..

  • bergo2TV - Minority indicates the number.Number of Muslim people living in India. After partition the Muslim population in India has come down to 20% of the whole population.

  • gandhi did some great things no ordinary man can achieve but also because of his greatness..he had a serious case of messiah complex

  • bete you r to little to discuss about complex, do you know what comlex u r suffering from?

  • learn how to type coherently, otherwise you will sound like you're suffering from mental retardation.

  • passionable guy: :D Had a bad week?

This is still virenbhanot btw, I just found better ID.

  • @ kiwitoffee, 77kkm: I agree. We have no time for the finer things in life. No one appreciates art. Few stop to admire the chirrping of birds. Queues are for other civilizations, because "No One Else Is Doing It". Traffic laws?! Its like the Britisher said: "Indians don't park. They just arrive and stop". All the "Gandhigiri" rage after the Munna Bhai MBBS movieseems now to have been just a passing fad. A way to be cooler

And, passionableguy, please grow up, PASSIONABLE is NOT an english word

  • Gandhi made several shockingly racist statements against the Africans while he lived in South Africa.

  • Really? Please tell me about it.

  • Try googling with appropriate keywords.

  • what religion did this man preach???

  • Non violence.

  • muffins

  • he preached for all religions, he was a humanitarrian.

  • You people are so ignorant. "I can't believe this is the land from which I came."

    idiots.

  • The tone of his voice I think betrayed his dispare. This would have happened with or with out Imperialism.

  • It sounds like you're playing back the 78RPM record at only 45RPM. Too slow and therefore too low pitched.

  • gandhi was nazi

  • yes he was

  • You are a retard

  • fuck gandhi

  • Classic. Geo HW Bush & the CIA assassinated President John Kennedy. It was the Pentagon & the FBI. Dallas was also a military operation,

Who killed Cesar? It was 12 Senators.

Who killed Aquino? It was 3 Generals & President Marcos.

No one sane believes in lone assassins.

    See You tube: paul8kangas

    Non-violence leads to assassinations.

Fidel avoided death only because he had a gun.

    Mao avoided death likewise

  • i LOVE MAHATMA GANDHI

  • Grate leader

  • HE IS INDEED THE FUCK MAN

  • @THENEIL12 ur are the same******* *********

  • Wow. If the educated, well-heeled, internet using populace of India can find no love or respect for a man who, all said and done, was only striving to help, to do good and be good, then it is indeed a sad day for me. I'm and Indian. How can we talk about having come far as a people, when compassion and kindness are mere words, lost amongst this mad rush to be the most shocking, vulgar, cynical?

  • Well said Viren. India seems to be a magnificent country in many ways. But I have often wondered what Ghandi would make of the vulgarity and crass materialism which characterises so much of contemporary India. We can all learn from Gandhi.

  • I can only agree with you.India lost it true nature we are so after meterialism. Its all about money now.peace and happyness is not there any more.people are so greedy .we are going totaly opposit direction from what Gandi taught us.

  • thats because he chose nerhu to be the prime minster and now because of his famliy india is suffering. gandhi told india to give 55core to pakistan but sadar told him no not to give.and gandhi things not religon should be called weak then why did he say that muslim are minority

  • kaash ke india aajaad nahi hota to indian boys ko videsh nahi jana padta

  • M. Gandhi is now a universal "saint". He is a hero, not just to India but for the whole world. His life and words resonate with honesty and love. His love for a united India is clear. His respect for all religions is what makes him a true saint.

  • maybe he had respect for all religions, pity he didnt have respect for all races.

the man was a racist, a little fact always seems to get brushed over

  • Hi...interesting point. Pls enlighten me. Mind you I am more of a historian, rather than a blind worshipper. Will appreciate your factual inputs, CocoMac877.

  • Gandhi a racist? how so? please explain

  • he basically thought that the darker ur skin, the lower u were on the ladder, its a part of his hindu beliefs.

check out some of his wrtiings from his time in south africa, he had alot to say about the black population, and far from being a pacifist he encouraged his fellow indians to help supress the native ppl

  • remember he lived in a time where pretty much everyone was racist and he was only human after all. In his time being racist to black people wasnt seen as bad as it was now.

  • i am perfectly willin to accept that, even abraham lincoln would be considered an extreme racist. and he did a great thing with his peaceful resistance.

i just dont like to see a man being deified, or sainted like ghandi has been, it puts them beyond criticism and there is much in his life which can be criticised.

ppl need to see the full picture, theres too many sickofants out there

  • but surely u must see y people see him as a saint, he freed us from british tyranny. He was not perfect- nobody is. But he is as close to perfect as anyone could be.

  • I got your reply and I wondering if you can get some quotes from his piece in South Africa. I highly doubt there was any racist content, seeing as how Martin Luther King Jr. was inspired by him in America and Nelson Mandela in South Africa itself. The only thing that I think comes close to what you're saying is the satyagraha, which had nothing racist about it and he defined the blacks of south africa and indians having a common enemy, he faced incredible prejudice in south africa too

  • you can read it in his own collected works.

there is no doubt over this, he wrote a number of articles for a paper even in which his racism is made abundantly clear.

in south africa he saw the indians and whites as havin a common enemy, the black natives

  • lol like I asked before, can I get some quotes?? MLK Jr. said he was influenced by Gandhi in college FACT, he inspired Nelson Mandela to rebel in south africa FACT. Where did you get this info btw if you can't cite it for me to read?? I already told you that skin color has nothing to do with caste system FACT. If there's no doubt over this then all I'm asking for is some quotes, not too much to ask for. And did you look into the events I told you to?? proving he wasn't a racist :P

  • Addressing a public meeting in Bombay on Sept. 26 1896 (CW II p. 74), Gandhi said:

Ours is one continued struggle against degradation sought to be inflicted upon us by the European, who desire to degrade us to the level of the raw Kaffir, whose occupation is hunting and whose sole ambition is to collect a certain number of cattle to buy a wife with, and then pass his life in indolence and nakedness.

  • You say that the magistrate's decision is unsatisfactory because it would enable a person, however unclean, to travel by a tram, and that even the Kaffirs would be able to do so. But the magistrate's decision is quite different. The Court declared that the Kaffirs have no legal right to travel by tram..... Thanks to the Court's decision, only clean Indians or coloured people other than Kaffirs, can now travel in the trams.

  • do u even kno how to read dumb paki?

    you are so jealous

    hahaha

    getting all angry

    haaa

  • you are just trying to spread hate among sikhs and hindus. You are truly pathetic man. Also, bhagat singh was a patriotic Indian and that is all I care about . Does not matter wheter hindu or sikh. But you pakistanis are beggars. Did not g and contribute to anything. Beggars. Sikhs and Hindus truly deserve the land you muslims do not.

  • Do u have to be racist towards pakistanis? One dickhead doesnt mean u should hate them all. (i am sikh, so dont think i am saying this because i am a pakistani)

  • please dont be racist- respect pakistanis as Gandhi did

  • Wow!!!! in those days when films were still shot in black and white, people actually walk faster than people of today. With the advancement of technology, we are more sedentary and less active physically,.... lol!!!!!!

  • Poor pakistanies are running like parasites..creating fake names and propagating hatred...but pity on them...they don't even have a dog in their country who did something gr8...poor pakis...they are funny man

  • aren't you little too dumb for that? First go through

    puberty. ha ha

  • You are just trying to make excuses. You are so jealous man. I laugh at you. You know Gandhi is the only reason there is Pakistan and your country. You understand that. You are so jealous.

    HaHaHAA.

  • you owe your life to gandhi. Neither India or Pakistan would have gotten free

  • so what. What are you going to do.

  • Watch your mouth. Gandhi is the reason India and Pakistan got independence. If there was no Gandhi there would not be a Pakistan. Maybe if Gandhi was a muslim you wouldn't hate on him so much. Do not discriminate one of the greatest intellectuals and leaders on religion.

  • GUYS DONT DISS THE GREAT GANDHU

  • Gandhu is great

  • You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty. Gandhi.......think about it i rlly like this....it makes sence

  • my dear indian friend, I pity on your lack of general knowledge......

can you say, about the where abouts of Gandhi dynasty.

he was the only person who objected Indian partition.........

British recognized him, world recognized him,but why his son don't know him

what is India, devoid of gandhi?

it would have been fighting feudal states. Because of that selfishness, British got a chance to attack India. all other leaders were struggled for their own power, except gandhi, he lost every thing..

  • The world needs a man like him right now. Peace.

  • Writing as a Christian and a strict follower of Gandhism, I ask you a simple question: did not the Mahatma speak out against religious violence, but you guys are fighting with religion as the topic? That doesn't make sense to me.

  • It would be very funny if it wasn't so very sad.
