I'm not really sure I can answer this question for you. I was recruited in the middle of the year specifically for competition cheer. I'm pretty sure that tryouts aren't that tough, though. You'll probably have to know how to cheer, dance, and do stunts, and being able to tumble will be beneficial. Other than that, I've got nothing. Best of luck to you =)

@BByD96 No, I only did cheer my senior year of high school. It wasn't long enough for me to build enough skills to be a great cheerleader. I should've started it my freshman year, but oh well.. Life goes on. I also did cheer my senior year of college (this year), when the competition club team held coed tryouts
