My question to you tea baggers is where were you when GEORGE W. BUSH was turning a surplus into a deficit? HUH? Clinton had a SURPLUS! You weren't protesting Bush. If you were really about fiscal responsibility, and civil liberties then you would have been protesting Bush's war spending, and the Patriot act.
@303Miles - who says we weren't protesting? Oh, maybe you couldn't read the letters and emails that many of us were sending to our representatives and leadership...oh, were we supposed to protest in the streets? A lot of us had JOBS back then, and from 2006 on when the Dems took control of the House and Senate and a lot of wasteful spending and corporate tax increases started popping up, those jobs were LOST, and guess what, we have time to protest now! And spending was 1/4 LESS then than now!
Take the "tea party" to the next level - National!
If you're fed up, send a single tea bag to the White House with a note attached, "Repeal the stimulus bill. Eliminate all "pork barrel" spending. Preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution."
Spread the word.
Send on Friday, March 13th and Washington will have to take notice that the citizenry, the voters, are not pleased.
Excellent! Let's throw all the stimulus pork into the Chattahoochie!
Once Americans figure out theit taxes are going to be increased everywhere they turn (losing mortgage deduction, charity deduction, increased cap gains, increased gas and heating oil taxes, increased income taxes in 2011 for everyone when current tax law runs out)...there will be a revolt at the ballot box.
This Tea Party is THE ENEMY OF THE AMERICAN MIDDLE CLASS.
You could not possibly have made yourselves more CLEAR about it.
(Love to all, regardless of your views.)
