Why do you invert the image in PS instead doing it directly with the scanner? You´ll see: I have this large large photo archive and I can´t expend so much time in editing each image, however, I am very interested in the quality of the images...
By using SilverFast's NegaFix feature you don't need to scan them as positives for inverting them later on in Photoshop. Just choose your film type out of 120 film profiles. There's a vid on youtube showing this.
That is absolutely right but we decided that even though you "can" do it that way do you trust the program to get it right? I rather invert it myself to my own judgement
I know that HP used to have an attachment that came with their scanners. You would place it over your negatives and the scanner. It had a mirror on it and that would somehow allow the light to travel through the transparency. I never actually tried it though.
can you use the program to turn it into pictures?

Do I need a special scanner? I just have a scanner/printer/ in one!,.. is silverfast a program? and is it free ? I like to scan 35mm movie cells

I think it's better to use adjustment layers to preserve the original layer. I'd like to see this process with a colour neg too. Thanks.
