You should try it again (if you haven't already, it HAS been almost two years since the video). Try using some setting lotion or wrap lotion too and smaller & shorter rods if your hair is still around the same length.

@tracema, I think those long rods are better for bra strap and mid-back length hair. Of course they don't have to be bent in half, at the top is good enough. Please try again and show us. :-)

@morgacj22, Definitely use SHORT rods. Those LONG rods are for really long hair (bra strap & mid-waist length hair) and it's a waste if your hair is shorter than arm pit length anyway. The shorter rods are generally $2.99 a pack (6) and the longer rods are generally $3.99 (6) a pack. Why give away $1 for nothing (that's a $1 per pack savings)? You should usually use about 50 rods...section small (more curl definition and less frizz). Good Luck, I'm sure it will work out.
@forevernatalyn, yeah...I'm thinking red at the biggest (for short hair). I use Orange and grey...my curls are tight, but fall daily. I Love it...low-maintenance!

next time you should use cold wave rods, and instead of sitting under a blow dryer leave them in overnight, then when you're up take them out, finger through them and do a single twist or a hump. i lovee the short curls and effect it has!
i saw those in the store... they have the long ones and the short ones of each color... i got the short one so they wouldn't be so bulky like yours but i have seen so many vid and I don't think there is a wrong way to put them in... they come out nice everytiime....

use the light green ones and roll it in a spiral or helix for a stretched curl look. Your texture's soft and beautiful. Try again with the smallest diameter, 1/4". Promise it'd look much better. And never use a dryer on natural hair that way!!!! haha not good.
Your shea butter mixture must b good, it really made your hair shyne and looked well moiturized etc. I do mixtures like that myself using creams and growth oils made to promote hair growth, and people are really amazed on how my hair have grown. You're funny in the video and had me laughin lol.

Your hair is really "springy" which is great. You should try to do a "comb coil" set (use a tail comb to take medium size sections of hair and twist into a coil). Sit under the dryer or just wear the coils for a day and then separate them. That should work better for your hair than the rods :)
i actually like it. but next time blow out and leave it a bit damp then apply a heat protectant and put the rods in. sit under the dryer or stroll in the sun to dry. it looked great though.

use the light green ones and roll it in a spiral or helix for a stretched curl look. Your texture's soft and beautiful. Try again with the smallest diameter, 1/4". Promise it'd look much better. And never use a dryer on natural hair that way!!!! haha not good.

Your shea butter mixture must b good, it really made your hair shyne and looked well moiturized etc. I do mixtures like that myself using creams and growth oils made to promote hair growth, and people are really amazed on how my hair have grown. You're funny in the video and had me laughin lol.

Your hair is really "springy" which is great. You should try to do a "comb coil" set (use a tail comb to take medium size sections of hair and twist into a coil). Sit under the dryer or just wear the coils for a day and then separate them. That should work better for your hair than the rods :)

i actually like it. but next time blow out and leave it a bit damp then apply a heat protectant and put the rods in. sit under the dryer or stroll in the sun to dry. it looked great though.
