@mattguitar1000 For one simple reason, I'm currently at animation college being taught how to use Maya. I would have just as much liked to model this in Blender as I did in Maya, but to demonstrate my modelling skills in Maya I had to, that's all. I love Blender. Really. And there's really no difference between the two. Blender's way easier though!
@T3allam Blender is faster. Mental ray chugs. Depth of field is rendered separately in Blender. Mental ray does the whole shebang which slows everything down.
