  • Out of this world! May be considered a bit of a joke, now. But in my opinion, this was one of Roger Moore's best Bond Films.

  • Man, when I was a kid this scene Scared me so freakin bad lol... saw this one in the movie theatre! I was 8....

  • RM should have stopped with this one, went out on a high note. Octopussy wasn't bad, but by that time he was starting to look too old... and forget about View to a Kill, that was grandpa 007 there.

  • omg if he wasn't wearing Q's watch he would have died for sure!

  • Best scene in the movie and one of Moore's best Bond sequences overall. He actually appears to be in real danger here and is clearly in pain once he finally escapes. There's no cute remark or wink of the eye or raise of an eyebrow.

  • I loved this scene as this was one of the few moments when Bond was in trouble and Bond truly looked as if he was in danger, Roger Moore really is one of the best actors ever.

  • The centrifuge trainer is not foolproof as shown in the movie. Bond's enemy deliberately changed the coaxial cable making the release button not functioning in times of emergency. Should improve the equipment with backup.

  • his wig nearly fell off

  • @mrmalade LOL damn you! he is my favorite 007 XD

  • Roger Moore almost make me wanna turn gay!

  • This is a great scene with great acting from Roger Moore...pure entertainment.

But I have to nit-pick and say that at full pelt on a centrifuge like this, you would die. Pilots in fighter jets are known to have not survived G to this extent.

  • That is not 12G! It's ~28G. , r is around 7m and one round takes about 1 s. That gives v=s/t = 7*2*PI/1=45m/s. a=v*v/r , a/9.81=~28G

  • @rammoskar The director moved to LA before he finished high school physics.

  • 3:53 The look at that asshole's face is priceless.

  • @jexplink Which asshole? I hope you don't mean Roger Moore, lol

  • @RoadRunnerDrummerJD Of course not, hehe ;) I mean that dickhead with the 'tache.

  • Yeah, that was good acting. He acted like that thing was kicking is butt for real. And he looked pretty roughed up after he got out.

  • the japanese guy was scary...keep in mind if he didn't die jaws would not be in this movie

  • In Christopher Wood's novelization, this scene was entitled 'A whip-round for Mr Bond'.

  • Some people say that Moonraker has got too many comedy monents in it compared to other Bond films but the one thig Moonraker has over all the other Bond films is the best scene ever of all Bond movies EVER. This one.

This is the only scene of all Bond movies, past or present when he looks genuinly terrified about how he's going to survive this. As a viewer you just can't take your eyes off it.

  • freaking 13g's! As they say where I go to university that is redass!

  • Best scene in the film ... there's genuine suspense and Moore looks terrified by the ordeal. I've seen it a number of times and it always draws me in.

  • The alarm at 3:18 sounds a lot like part of the distress signal heard during the opening scenes of Alien (1979), does it not?

  • Great scene. Roger Moore (my favorite Bond) showed stunning acting. Oh and amazingly beautiful Lois Chiles. Moonraker was definitely the most overlooked and underrated Bond film. Space scenes were amazing

  • My art teacher is that stuntman. Look at the credits, his name is Jim Mousdell and he works at St. Edmund Arrowsmith Catholid High, England. It's honestly true i promise :P

  • Did you guys know that it was actually just Moore making those faces? They didn't use any trickery, he just has a fucked up face.

  • @SirPwn4lot They used little jets of pressurised air. It caused bruising to Moore's face, but hey, it looked great on film.

  • can you actually be killed from a centrifuge chamber?

  • absolutly

  • @ToMMLa1986 wow, i didnt think so, maybe because of all the g-force coming from that

  • @xRAMxDOD it can cause damage to your vital organs, make it hard to breathe or starve your brain of blood which is y people pass out after like 6 g's. but james bond can take 17 gs and can still lift his wrist.

  • @supaflylob well, the fact that you have to go through something like that in order to become an astronaut, it probably would damage your body before you go into space, and it was actually 12 g's that he experienced.

  • @supaflylob LOL its insane really, he hasn't even got a G Suit/Flight suit on. 9 G is or maybe 7 G is lethal without. But it's a fun scene.

  • @xRAMxDOD Yes you can, very easily. The blood drains from your brain and it dies. 9 G can kill you. You need a Jet fighter Flight suit to stay conscious and keep blood in your brain.

  • One of the few times you felt Bond was actually in trouble. This, along with the laser table in Goldfinger, the traction table in Thunderball and, of course, the torture scenes in Casino Royale and The world is not enough.

  • @fedokosmokrator And Die another day when he is captured in Korea and tourtured. He would have been killed but for a release bargain.

  • @fedokosmokrator The Cremation Machine in Diamonds Are Forever too.

  • @fedokosmokrator However in the torture scene in Casino Royale everyone laughed at that rather than feel sorry for Bond. Daniel Craig's acting as Bond sucked at that scene because his torture screams didn't sound realistic (otherwise why would people laugh when Bond's in trouble) and there was no feeling that Bond was in trouble but I agree with the others you have mentioned.

  • Good sequence in a silly film. It reminds me of the traction table scene from 'Thunderball.'

I like that Bond has no one-liner after he escapes.

  • This is proof that without Q-Branch, 007 would be dead.

  • The first Bond I ever saw, This is called a chicken switch, 5 mins later, uh oh this is broken time to shoot the machine!

  • this human centrifuge really exist?

  • @pierrelebatteur They use them at Naza, but they don't look metal like this, or as big.

  • I totally agree, this is my favourite scene of roger moore as bond, hes always so smug in all the bond films, but in this one scene he actually looks really vulnerable, the way he got out of that simulator, it looked like they actually put him in there for real. Roger you're a legend man!

  • it was incredible acting from an incredible actor.

    WOW

  • 3:10 how did Roger Moore make that face? You can't do that voluntarily

It's like Jeremy Clarkson in an Ariel Atom

  • I know about how they shot the scene. They used strong blower which is for business use.

  • If that were true, then they must have used superglue for hairgel and nailed the suit onto Roger Moore!! :D

  • It was piped air. This contorted Roger's face.He bruised for a for for a few days after this.

  • ...nice. you know your stuff...

  • o man that would b a rly bad way to go.

  • Moonraker is my favorite James Bond movie. My second favorite is Goldfinger w/ the crew from "Fantasy Island"

  • One of my favorite parts! Science rules!!!

  • Good character work in this scene.

  • How typical! The villain desides to play with his victim, and inevitably loses!

  • moonraker is a great movie

  • Please upload the scene where Bond fights Chang!

  • Liked Moore's Bond performance here, and we all wanna kill dick of a 'henchman' who tried to kill Bond.

  • just like that lol

  • i love this movie

  • Outstanding performance by Moore in this scene!

  • Moonraker was a great James Bond movie and i'll prove it:

1)Holly Goodhead-Tell me with a straight face you wouldn't hit that. Defining Dialog:"James, take me around the world one more time."

2)Jaws, freelance giant metal-mouthed psychopath that Bond tried to kill numerous times and failed. Defining Dialog: "Well, here's to us."

3)Orbital Laser Tag War-You get to see space marines fight Drax's Super Race in low Earth Orbit! Pew, pew, pew, pew!

4)The Plot: The murder of all life on Earth.

    A+

  • Your wish is my command, 3kliksphilip.

  • Love it!

  • thanks for posting this - a spectacular scene from one of the more underrated bond films.

  • very true...

  • "A 70 year old can take 3gs..."

    I'd be finito at 1...

  • I'd be dead at 12 gs.

  • Look like me mate Gareth!

  • great scene from a great movie! thanks for posting!
