What a totally great video. Sitting here on my boat at 5 am in Savannah, Ga. with a cup of coffee. You got me day dreaming and the day aint even here yet. :) Nice wake up.
Well done guys! I needed a nice transatlantic sail today! Hope you all get the opportunity to do many more. It's the ultimate gift for sailors/friends. Fair winds!
I saw this video on multiple occasions ... I never get tired ... thanks for sharing ... right now I have no sailing boat, however I am making arrangements to take a year. I have always been sailing with others. boat owners ... Good sailing ... and keep safe. Regards, Henry
Im 18 and am currentlyg working full time to pay for classes and a nice boat, I plan to be a live aboard by the time I turn 19 and travel across the atlantic and as many other oceans that I have permission to sail in, I'll be doing vlogs of my journeys with my gopro camera starting around next march or april of 2013.
@hansjalv It was only the middle bit from Bermuda to the Azores. But we did haul, 1850 miles in 12 days equals about 150 miles a day. The boat owner and first mate are ocean racers so they had the spinnaker constantly dialed in.
this is AWESOME, gonna have to get a boat and learn ALOT ..looking at a "Cheoy Lee Robb 35" any suggestions would be nice, it's a yawl rigged fiberglass hull, thanks for your video , watch it every day.....fair winds
@yokid414 Expect the unexpected? My only advice is to minimize complexity of everything. Working on broken systems in the middle of the ocean is challenging. Especially if you have to tweak a through hull or climb a mast.
@sailgirl100 33' is more than we had to do our crossing on a 25'! No GPS,sat phone only radio. This was back in '73. I was 14 and with my Dad. If I had the money I would do it again in a Mini Transat boat.
@4444Anders Thanks so much. The soundtrack starts with a cover of Closer to Home by Mark Farner. Followed by Gimme Shelter by The Stones and ending with High and Dry by Radiohead. Thanks again for watching.
@tstadum It was an amazing trip. I split in the Azores but the rest of the crew plus one continued on to Marseilles where the boat is for sale. If we don't sell it, we're sailing it back next year.

I can just feel the freedom. Thanks
I reposted it to my blog.

Probibly the best UTube sailing video. It made my lench break quite enjoyable.
I sail catamarans on the sea of Galilee. If you are ever in Israel look me up and I will take any of you out. ans sail past Tiberias.
May you be blessed with many years of good times.

Cool Video! I did the 2007 ARC, we made it across just under 19 days on a Lagoon 420 Hybrid.
