@artex6 Hi i don't know if you've read past comments but I was very young here and this pony was more than difficult to ride and we didn't make lots of oopsies it was just a fun day to see where his potentials lays and we went on to do 1 metre show jumping etc he was very naughty most of the time but I managed :) thnx
@itsaliciaharrington Add me as a friend and I'll send you link - No, no reason he could have cantered if he wanted but it is good training for them to be able to trot into bigger jumps and use their body well.:)
that pony is good!! and you are a good rider too I thought your position was pretty good, obv not perfect but is anyones? and I agree that you can trot a pony into a fence above a meter my 14.2hh can jump 1.20m from a trot with no problem he prefers to trot so there is no problem! keep up the good work xx
@FoxfieldsPonies Thanks for that:) So many people just have to say otherwise :P I mean obviously if the pony doesn't want to do it it would show and I wouldn't make it but o wel ae haha :) thnx x
your a great rider ! i dont want to go critising people and how they ride because they now how to ride their own horse.. but i think you'd get a much smother jump when cantering into the fence, especially when your jumping the combination. But your a great rider and push him over.. and buddy is soo cute !
Wow this video is pathetic. Your falling too much onto the horse's neck after the jump. And try getting proper riding clothes. Also, you should canter up to any jump above one meter.
@catswithwigs Also, you should mind ur own business :) I do have proper riding clothes that i compete in but i'm just at home and its hot so?? I also agree she should canter to the jump if it's above a meter but obviously the horse has great potential and has no problem with it. Horses are smart, if the horse felt unsure about it, I'm sure he would've sped up to the jump and cantered instead of trot.
@4EverEquineTV Because it's part of his training.. overseas trainers start off trotting 1.20m for good rythm etc and he didn't want to canter haha.. he was hapspy tho:)
@cathrynluvswovles Glad you understand ;) Some people don't get this training and it's so funny because you would think for horse people they would understand it but obviously not hey :P And yeah as i say if he wasn't capably he wouldn't do it and i am not forces him does anyone see me wacking and booting him??? no haha :)
@tommahilly Yeah i hate it whe people do that, or just comment asking you the song :\ And yeah, if he couldnt do it then you wouldnt force him to, thats just illogical and a waste of time :)
She was on the correct diagonal and she is an amazig rider. Plus I love your horse he is so cute and to jump a jump which is neally as big as him takes courage, you mke a great team <3
Very Good Video , just To let you Know When you were Trotting at the Begining You were on the wrong diagonal i don't know if you no waht that is but if you do :P :)
@GeorgeDunstan97 Nope lol I don't know if it may be different where you live but in New Zealand we sit when the outside leg is back and rise when the inside leg is back so when they open their spine we are not sitting :) thnx tho and yes lol I've known my diagonals since i was 7 when i started top level showing
@AnNaBeLlScHeReR If he didn't like it he wouldn't do it - I wouldn't force him - as you can see i wasn't kicking and whipping vigorously and he acctually likes it
If you want your pony is not lame, I would be about 1.05 meters at a gallop to do. so do his back broken and you have a much greater chance that he is lame!
I know this is 2 years ago but try to remain forward more when you're jumping (in 2-point? sorry I don't speak english) In most of the jumps your bottom is touching the sadle when you're above the jump, that's wrong. You should remain forward till after the jump, and when the horse land, your bottom should be landing too :-)
@saminiky Actually.. it's not wrong.. you should remain in the seat most of the way over the jump - the only time you should be out of the seat is when taking off for leverage and to keep in balance with the horse/pony. Whilst going over remain sitting with heels down for a safe landing - and If you know it was two years ago why comment on my position? I was 10 and have improved so much since then This is pint sized to me now. And i dnt reli need a lesson on riding when i give lessons. Thnx :))
@tommahilly So if you were 10, and it's over two years ago you are now 12... and you give lessons? The explanation you give for going over a jump should result in a horse that puts his hindlegs down over the jump, resulting in a knocked down pole. But do what ever you think is right, I was just trying to give a hint.
@saminiky Lol don't look so far into a video you acctually know nothing about - I UPLOADED it two years ago.. i didn't upload it the day i did it, i didn't even have youtube then. - I'm 14 now and yeas i do give lessons because i qualified to represent my country in another country so people do want lessons with me and ur not to judge k. Ahhh no.... I jump 1.40m using my 'explination' and clear it with ease -
@tommahilly representing your country in another coutry is called 'international', lol. If you'd look at vid's of international riders there is NOT ONE that keeps his ass in the sadle during the jump. In my country an official instructor is 18 and has an instructors-certificate/diploma, but maybe they don't take safety and good horsemanship so serious at your place? Just saying...
@saminiky Nice to know:) I'll call it what I want thnx, what matters is I am good enough to qualify which I did 4 times...(:
My students choose to have me as their instructor - their descision not yours :) And I fly around the country riding for other people and giving lessons people know who I am so I dnt need a peice of paper telling me what to do :D ... just sayin..
@saminiky i teach horses/ ponies how to jump using my'explination' and people send more ponies for me teach how to jump so i acctually don't need any hints - i do perfectly well how do it and my horses are happy and don't knock pole :) thnx anyway
@tommahilly Mate lets all just be honest with each other. You're not an instructor. I doubt you're even 14 since you keep miss spelling explanation. You are a nice little rider, don't feel the need to make achievements up. If you don't agree with the comments people make, just don't act on them! Nice video.
@beckyarchie HAHAA wanna bet???? I have 4 students I teach weekly if you don't believe me go on my freaking facebook page and you can look at my photos of me winning 4 pony of the year titles, instructing and all the other stuff nd I know I'm 14 years old so why dnt u just not make comments about things you don't know - i will make a live video now if you want to prove it so plz dnt go saying stuff u acctually no nothing about thnx for the compliments tho this was years ago tho
@beckyarchie Well excuse me for not liking you talkn about me when you don't even know??... and if you want to see videos of me riding your looking at one and look at all the rest of them on my page. Don't go round picking on people younger than you k thnx
@tommahilly : When you post, you legs go outward and forward, and it looks like you were fiddling with them. That happened to me when i was riding a little 12 hand pony, becuase i felt so big on her. You have a very nice upper body though
@FareviewFarms I was 10 and had never jumped that high - i was gripping with my calf muscle so i wouldn't go flying after the jump haha!! And i had to keep kicking him - not fiddling just constantly kicking him he is sooo lazy lol!! I have indeed improved alot since then as i am alot older now but thnx :)
wow! she is good i ride a horse too but i had a pretty scary fall 2 weeks ago i acually couldn't breath until uh 3 or 2 minutes but i am fine now! she is really good!
wow is he a welsh mountain pony!!! hes really pretty, he doesnt look at all like the welsh mountain we have here but hes sooooooooooo pretty!. how big is he??? :)
@perfectstorm101 You know, i saw wat your wrote and you really need to keep your smart mouth shut! I did not invite you to come on to my profile and messaging me what rude things you did nor comment rudely on my videos which you know nothing about! Just get out and leave me alone your reli starting to p me off!
@iluvhorsesjna As I said before; he is perfectly fine and does not affect him in any way, he prefered to do it like liek that and so thats wat we did. and that may apply to VampireLydiax
Aww what an adorable, honest pony! He reminds me a little bit of a Fjord. He looks very sweet, and it's amazing how he's athletic and brave enough to trot over jumps that large! Very nice.
I break in ponies and train them etc so i have taught buddy to go from falling ova jumps and landing on his back to jumping 1 metre rounds and coming first in show hunter, it has been an amazing journey and
Buddy has now been sold to a 9 yr old girl who will love him dearly! :)
No crit plz, i get lessons from and olympic rider and i do no what i am doing.
Thnk u to those who gave helpfull crit tho :) but it will not be needed! :)
Acctually, i gt told by an olympic rider tht its nt ''heels down'' its put ur weight thru ur heels, u dn't push ur heels down cause if sum1 were to take ur horse frm unda u, u wud land on ur back, if u hve even weight u will land on ur feet!
in show hunter, which i do on tis pony we r nt meant to hve straight backs, we r meant to be in 2 point all the way around :)
I only carry my hands in showing and dressage, as we are in 2 point here we rest our hands on their neck.
Jumping is fun, I am learing, I suck haha so i don't dare put even 1 picture of my attempt, bcz it looks like I am going head over keals, and everybody would say the rudest stuff, Great jumping,
haha don't worry about it...when i first started cantering i screamed, grabbed onto the neck for dear life as the horse bolted in confusion and i was holding on to its skin, pinching it xD
jumping is so good once you master things here and there
LMAO, i learnt to canter by myself when i was 4 and as Minty went up, you know the motion were they go up downish??? yea everytime he went up i screamed and laughed, i cantered a whole circle screaming and laughing, i thought it felt like he was leaping over invisible jumps :P lmao!
He was taught to only walk and trot for kidz so im just teaching him to canter now! he is 7 nd yea he feels more confident trotting into jmps but i do my best to canter him.
HE HAS LEARNT TO CANTER NOW! :P ... 2 weeks afta that vid he just clicked and now he wnt stop cantering hahaa he luvs it!
it dusn't reli make a diff and he cn trot up to it if he feels comfy doing that =]
thats one hell of a pony! =) lol, he's extremely athletic... however its probably not the GREATEST idea to jump that high at a trot... otherwise fab job!
Thnx! yea, he is pretty athletic, he does hunting and jmpin and schoolin xD
Y not? dusn't make any diff to his jump!!!
He was taught to only walk and trot for kidz so im just teaching him to canter now! he is 7 nd yea he feels more confident trotting into jmps but i do my best to canter him, cause he still dusn't really no how to canter so it's fine to trot into a jump - dusnt hurt him, dusnt matta, he cn do it how he feels!
Now plz giv me a gud reason y he shdn't trot into a big jmp?
well, if he can do it it's fine now, but when he gets older it might not to be a great idea to jump him that high without any impulsion, he could hurt himself
and mabey not just him, but all horses in general, don't jump my 16.2hh thoroughbred higher than 2'6'' w/o/ cantering..
please don't get offended! thats just what i've been taught ;)
oh ok ,i see wat you mean =] ... NO! i wd neva eva thnk of jmpin him that high if he nos how to canter!!!!!!!! yep! he cud REALLY hurt himself, he lifts his legs REALLY high nd tuks them up gud so i thought i wud see how high he cud jmp tht day nd i ended up doin that!
He has learnt how to cantr now, he is cantring on command so we wnt EVA be jump'n from a trot unless we hav too xD
I gav him a choice and he wnted to trot and he ws tired lol!
try to stay off your pony's back when you jump he will be more comfortable and won't make so many oopsies! :)

I dont think its good idea to be trotting up to the high of a jump
iluvhorsesjna 1 year ago
@iluvhorsesjna im not being rude but trotting into jumps is ok, my horse trotted into a 4ft jump once and cleared,
VampireLydiax 1 year ago
@VampireLydiax it doesnt matter if u just clear it it could b a great jumper just saying it might not be good for the poor horses joints
iluvhorsesjna 1 year ago
@iluvhorsesjna As I said before; he is perfectly fine and does not affect him in any way, he prefered to do it like liek that and so thats wat we did. and that may apply to VampireLydiax

Harder aan komen draven of ik galop dat is beter voor paard
monderhoek 1 year ago
@monderhoek

Aww what an adorable, honest pony! He reminds me a little bit of a Fjord. He looks very sweet, and it's amazing how he's athletic and brave enough to trot over jumps that large! Very nice.

NewYorkie12 1 year ago
I break in ponies and train them etc so i have taught buddy to go from falling ova jumps and landing on his back to jumping 1 metre rounds and coming first in show hunter, it has been an amazing journey and
Buddy has now been sold to a 9 yr old girl who will love him dearly! :)
No crit plz, i get lessons from and olympic rider and i do no what i am doing.
Thnk u to those who gave helpfull crit tho :) but it will not be needed! :)
thnx!
tommahilly 1 year ago
lol nice.
heres a top: heels just below level not DOWN down, back stright but supple and hands up
horselover4ever131 1 year ago 3
Acctually, i gt told by an olympic rider tht its nt ''heels down'' its put ur weight thru ur heels, u dn't push ur heels down cause if sum1 were to take ur horse frm unda u, u wud land on ur back, if u hve even weight u will land on ur feet!
in show hunter, which i do on tis pony we r nt meant to hve straight backs, we r meant to be in 2 point all the way around :)
I only carry my hands in showing and dressage, as we are in 2 point here we rest our hands on their neck.

Jumping is fun, I am learing, I suck haha so i don't dare put even 1 picture of my attempt, bcz it looks like I am going head over keals, and everybody would say the rudest stuff, Great jumping,
sugarismyhorse 2 years ago
haha don't worry about it...when i first started cantering i screamed, grabbed onto the neck for dear life as the horse bolted in confusion and i was holding on to its skin, pinching it xD
jumping is so good once you master things here and there
SnowKitten53 2 years ago
@SnowKitten53

@sugarismyhorse
Lol, don't worry, you'll get there :) keep practicing, and don't worry wot anyone thinks!

tommahilly 2 years ago
thats one hell of a pony! =) lol, he's extremely athletic... however its probably not the GREATEST idea to jump that high at a trot... otherwise fab job!
Banbarstables 2 years ago
Thnx! yea, he is pretty athletic, he does hunting and jmpin and schoolin xD
Y not? dusn't make any diff to his jump!!!
Now plz giv me a gud reason y he shdn't trot into a big jmp?
tommahilly 2 years ago
well, if he can do it it's fine now, but when he gets older it might not to be a great idea to jump him that high without any impulsion, he could hurt himself
and mabey not just him, but all horses in general, don't jump my 16.2hh thoroughbred higher than 2'6'' w/o/ cantering..
please don't get offended! thats just what i've been taught ;)
Banbarstables 2 years ago
oh ok ,i see wat you mean =] ... NO! i wd neva eva thnk of jmpin him that high if he nos how to canter!!!!!!!! yep! he cud REALLY hurt himself, he lifts his legs REALLY high nd tuks them up gud so i thought i wud see how high he cud jmp tht day nd i ended up doin that!
He has learnt how to cantr now, he is cantring on command so we wnt EVA be jump'n from a trot unless we hav too xD
I gav him a choice and he wnted to trot and he ws tired lol!
Thnx for ur consideraton, i see wt u mean now! =]
