I've listen to many versions of the Canon as it is possible one of the most beautiful and timeless pieces to ever be arranged,your rendition shows your passion for the music and your craft, it is different as it should be like the guitar version but it is absolutely very well done

Wonderfull and amazing arrangement and permormance but maybe I would used tenor, alto, soprano and baritone instead of all sopranos because It would be richer tone. I love it by the way, congratulations.

I certainly can't argue that it wouldn't be better with a full saxophone section, but a soprano was the only instrument I owned at the time.

The background string accompaniment is synthesized(midi)...as are most of the accompaniments I use. Only the saxophone parts are live recordings.

Agreed, me 2 m8. I 1st listened to funtwo version. But now I have scoured the net for all types of versions to this canon and I love almost all of them. My favourite so far is the one done by the orchestra. it's on here.

I like the funtwo version also,the guitar playing is very good... it all depends on the mood I'm in....it's amazing to me how people have taken this canon and done all sorts of amazing things with it, I wonder what Pachelbel's reaction would be?? Still, although my favorite versions are the slower more peaceful ones, like Pachelbel intended it to be, I really do enjoy just about all of them....Oh yeah, don't forget the Christmas one!!

Yes, it's extremely relaxing. It's a great piece to listen to when your mind is troubled. It never fails to ease my mind. I have used it too at night!! lol...bet plenty of people have. : ) I have a copy with ocean waves in the background that is especially soothing.

Any kind of music...in any style...can be played on ANY instrument. As a matter of fact, the Canadian Brass recorded a very nice version of Pachelbel's Canon.

That's a good question, but I don't really have a good answer other than to say years and years of playing saxophone. Soprano was never my main instrument so I never spent much time working on a soprano sound. I think my sound on soprano is probably influenced more by the kind sound I was going for on alto.

I don't think I have the parts any more. I wrote out the parts by hand, but my notation was so sloppy and hastily written that you might not have been able to decipher it anyway.

I didn't practice it very much, which is why it's not as clean as I would like. Once I had the parts written out I was pretty much sight reading as I recorded it. Still not exactly sight reading either, since I had written out the parts myself so I already knew it in my head. The only part that I practiced ahead of time was the section from 3:26 to 4:02 because some of those 16th-note interval jumps were a little tricky.
