I love Silent Hill 2 and always will... Started playing this as 14-year old and never experienced anything just half as good since.. Why did that serie have to wither out like that.. damn
@0prosthetics0 It's because of the spiritual powers of the town itself. When a shifting to the nightmare occurs, the siren is heard to warn you of that.
Futhermore, given the fact the cash in the room was untouched and Mr. Orosco had a history of drunkness and violence, the police detect that the motive was not robbery but some sort of crime of passion. "
"The body of a man later identified as Thomas Orosco (Lumberjack, age 39) was discovered in the middle of his room lying face up.
The probable cause of death was multiple stab wounds to the front of the neck and the left side of the torso by a sharp egded weapon. The estimated time of death was somewhere between 11:00 p.m. and 12:30 midnight.
Due to signs of struggle in the room and the lack of a murder weapon, police are considering this a homicide and have opened a murder investigation.
Love Silent Hill 2, but aside from Mary, and at certain times, Angela, the voice acting was pretty terrible. Guy Cihi's work was especially over the top.
@GregSep I think they were being sarcastic... The Silent Hill series always had the worst dialogue and voice acting imaginable. I think the Legacy of Kain series pretty much stomped many games in to the ground when it came to voice acting.
When it comes to acting in character movement I think Enslaved takes the cake.
How do you guys feel about the change in voice acting with the collection that's gonna be released in HD? On one hand some of the voice acting wasn't the best in 2 but I did enjoy jame's voice, plus through association I am a bit worried.
the best voice acting you will ever hear? uh..you're being sarcastic right? I mean the voice acting isn't terrible, but it's certainly not the best ever.
How do you guys feel about the Silent Hill HD reissue that Konami is doing for SH 2 and 3? It is said that it will feature new voice overs. do you guys like that they are doing this?
@Roxer777 It was James's guilt and memories along with the darkness of the town's past brought to reality by the spiritual power that was there. (from what I got from what they said.)
@KedViper ok thanks... I think the problem about silent hill, is that they arent sequels between them, except for the 1 and 3.. you just can't take it like a hole game, have to play them apart as separate games
@Roxer777 Psychological, yes. Dream, kinda. World, yes. All of the games reside around the spiritual power (other than Origins, HC, SHAZAM!!, spinoffs like the movie, etc.). The spiritual power that was used for good by the native american that inhabited the town became tained after the cult moved into the resort town. the power has now been perverted into a Demon God that draws Guilty parties into the town and manifest their darkest dreams into reality. Clear as rain, Did i miss anything? No.
@itakethesquare ok thanks... I think the problem about silent hill, is that they arent sequels between them, except for the 1 and 3.. you just can't take it like a hole game, have to play them apart as separate games
If I remember correctly Angela's voice actress was around 40. It didn't bother me that Angela doesn't look 16 though, 'cause people thought I was 21 when I was 13 and my voice broke at 11.
It's not a Silent Hill 2 movie, it's a Silent Hill 3 movie sequel to the first Silent Hill movie that wasn't about Silent Hill. Will this one be about Silent Hill? It certainly doesn't sound like it. Doesn't necessarily mean it'll be bad...

@TwinPerfectChannel Do you that dennis falt the guy who did the voice of mary's docter is the same guy who did walter sulivan's voice :) I LOVE your videos so addctive
You guys did really good on this, Silent Hill 2 is my second favorite (the first one being my favorite).
But in Silent Hill 1, the monsters in the book Harry fiinds in the school are called poltergeists. Are the monsters in this game supposed to be poltergeists too? Also, I'm usually prety good with th symbolism stuff, but at 6:18, what are the portrait thins on the wall rpresnting?
- So there's absolutely no way to reveal the missing text in the articles, plaques, etc?
- I've heard/read some theories that James stole/kept/whatever Mary's body and drove it to SH and then goes down with it/her in the water ending. As crazy as it sounds what do you think of that?
I assume the best VO part was a joke? I love SH2 but... c'mooooon!
(there are many good works but IMHO best voice acting in a game is that of "Legacy of Kain: Defiance")
The only way to get at that text is to hack the game (we didn't).
That rumor came right out of the "Lost Memories" portion of the Silent Hill 3 Perfect Capture Guide. It's bologna, just mindless foolishness from the writer of that guide (NOT a Team Silent member), and it's one of the reasons we don't just accept anything Konami puts its name on (see Part 13a).
Nobody can top Guy Cihi's work on this one. "Realistic" is the word. He doesn't sound like a game character.
@TwinPerfectChannel no he just sounds like a retard. "Is it dead? What the hell is it? It's not human...oh well" I mean srsly that guy even got hate mail from the fans all over the world. The 2 and only 2 good VO's in SH2 were Maria I mean Mary and Eddie. Realistic doesn't mean he shouldn't put emotion/effort into his lines.
@bluerubyvideos like I said in my comment the parts where a little bit more emotion was needed to be an engaging experience was when James asks "What the hell is it? It's not human" or when he killed Eddie and just walks up to his corpse and is like "Eddie?" There are parts where his voice is good in the acting department but I find myself sometimes being taken away from the world of the game because of him. Same thing with Heather from time to time. She overacts:(
To elaborate on what you referring to, the context was a caption for an image of the opening scene in SH2, where the writer speculates "Could Mary's body be in the trunk of James' car?" I personally liked it, and thought it added a lot of color to the scenario. It also explains how James has her body in the Rebirth ending. That said, I don't think it should be dismissed as "bologna." While it's arguable whether or not it's canonical, I think it's a pretty valid possibility.
@TwinPerfectChannel Regarding the "best voice acting", I too, disagree. But, I don't think it's a problem with the voice actors, but the script and direction. This is, after all made by a group of Japanese programmers/artists... and their interpretation of an American town, so i'd imagine things get lost in translation. I thought they had their moments... there were some parts that were cringe worthy, but the entire last part of the game, you can feel the pain in their dialogue. Good times.
So many things bother me about what's being stated here as unchangable FACT. The way I saw it, James wrote the letter himself, to himself, rather than the town calling him that way. Who says it was Eddie's coach? It could have been anybody (that is a 'he' that is). I figure it was just a certain classmate.
Of course, that's just the way I saw it; but I haven't made a series of videos stating my way is the right way. There's other things too... let me re-watch some more of the series.
No, he shot a football player in the knee. The guy harassed him constantly. He didn''t kill him. Here's Eddie's conversation with James..
Eddie: Then "he" came after me, I shot him too, right in the leg. He cried more than the dog, hah, hah, hah, hah! He's gonna have a hard time playing football on what's left of that knee.
Excellent job on the research y'all have done in the making of this documentary. I remember a lot of stuff forgotten in past playthroughs. The pictures and videos are very relevant and insightful to what you are saying.
SH 2 is my personal favorite. Not because of Pyramid Head, but rather because of the people drawn into SH and their pasts. I like learning about people and the way they think, and this provided some awesome insight.
When we all Silent Hill players get of old age Silent Hill franchise better be over. Its been way too many games. Now Final Fantasy, I bet you that that game franchise will still go on.
@kurtosis well its debatable cause i believe silent hill 3 is the best and the scariest game i have ever game silent hill 2 is another story silent hill 3 is the sequal for the first silent hill game so u can arrange that as silent hill 2 if u want but its very debatable
Your editing skills are pretty good, I'll give you that. Makes the videos looks very nice. However...I disagree when you say that SH2 has the best voice-overs. Homecoming wins that honour from me, despite the quality of the rest of the game.
We are filling in the areas of text that were blanked out in the game with what it probably said (although your guess is as good as ours on the "Orosco-Lumberjack" thing).
Really!? I didn't realise the text was originally blanked out... It doesn't look like it was edited in at all! That is some serious video editing skill. Well done!
And again, great video so far. Can't wait for part 6!
@TwinPerfectChannel It says "The Body of a man later identified as Thomas Orosco ( Lumberjack, age 39) was discovered in the living room lying face down."
Good video but the whole thing about Eddie dreaming to play on the football team where did you get that from? do you feel that because he shot the star football player that he may have wanted to be was reason enough? thats more personnel opinion rather than fact. I feel the shooting of the football player and the football posters are a result of this possible guilt. keep up the work guys! its good.
Excelent videos so far.:-) I think this series/documentary can be just as good, maybe even better, as Dena/Cyborcat's Silent Hill Game Den-retrospectives.:-) Keep up the good work.
In the room where Eddie made his first kill, I did notice a bunch of worn football team posters on the walls. Well, this made everything very clear! I can't wait for part three!
I'm enjoying the "real experience" so far, but the release method is confusing. For something about 3 hours long we have now gone through Silent Hill 1 and 2 in less than half an hour, which is surprising giving their popularity. Are these segments just introductions? Can we get an overview of your plan of release?
I like that you cite sources, but then you say things like Eddie played football and shot his coach, which sounds like you reached back and pulled that out of your rear.
@Yoshemo1 Yeah I know he shot the guy ("I shot him too! Right in the leg"), just can't recall football ever being mentioned or who the guy actually was.
Not a big deal, just noticing a lot of things said have their sources cited in context, but other things do not.
Don't want the comments to turn into a shouting match, but I bet they will. Loving the Experience so far regardless.
@GenBadGuy "Then he came after me, I shot him too right in the leg. He cried more than the dog. He's going to have a hard time playing football on what's left of that knee." I hope that helps.
@GenBadGuy There is never a mention in all of Silent Hill 2 that says Eddie shot his "coach". And I've never heard of a coach that does play football. They "did", at one time, and Eddie specifically says "he's going to have a hard time playing football on what's left of that knee!" I'd like to say this is interesting, but there inconsistencies and unproven points abound, even if they're small ones.
Eddie shot some high school football player that bullied him. He called Eddie a "fat disgusting piece of shit". Like most school shooters, Eddie eventually snapped and shot the bully in the knee.
I don't know why, but i dont't like the voice acting in SH2 one bit.

I have a question. The town is now deserted so how does James hear the siren?
0prosthetics0 5 months ago
@0prosthetics0 It's because of the spiritual powers of the town itself. When a shifting to the nightmare occurs, the siren is heard to warn you of that.
revenger210 5 months ago
@revenger210 Oh okay thank you, I thought it was the cult of SH setting of the siren in the first game to warn you of the otherworld.
0prosthetics0 5 months ago
@0prosthetics0 My pleasure that I helped you out.
Either way, just to be honest, there are many ways to explain some of the phenomena of Silent Hill.
This is my speculation and explanation of the gas siren heard in the town.
Other fans may argue with me and say that the siren is heard because that's what Alessa heard after Travis saved her from her burning house.
Others may say something like what you said in the first place.
But, the turth is...
Who knows? ;)

We are filling in the areas of text that were blanked out in the game with what it probably said (although your guess is as good as ours on the "Orosco-Lumberjack" thing).

@TwinPerfectChannel
Really!? I didn't realise the text was originally blanked out... It doesn't look like it was edited in at all! That is some serious video editing skill. Well done!
And again, great video so far. Can't wait for part 6!

@TwinPerfectChannel Doesn't that mean he was a wood cutter? lolz.
SilentHillWren 1 year ago
@TwinPerfectChannel It says "The Body of a man later identified as Thomas Orosco ( Lumberjack, age 39) was discovered in the living room lying face down."

Good video but the whole thing about Eddie dreaming to play on the football team where did you get that from? do you feel that because he shot the star football player that he may have wanted to be was reason enough? thats more personnel opinion rather than fact. I feel the shooting of the football player and the football posters are a result of this possible guilt. keep up the work guys! its good.

How ironic is it that James calls Laura a liar? And coincidental, in that she calls him a liar later on.

I forgot. Where did the doctor audio come from?

@Dextear If you pick up and listen to the headset in the hotel, that's what you hear.

Yeah, I agree SH2 looks better than some games I've seen lately; and I also think that 3 is the best one.

Excelent videos so far.:-) I think this series/documentary can be just as good, maybe even better, as Dena/Cyborcat's Silent Hill Game Den-retrospectives.:-) Keep up the good work.

Very well done, great job! Can't wait for part 3!

GenBadGuy 1 year ago
@GenBadGuy Well, Eddie flat out says he shot the guy. Plus there have been interviews and footnotes etc that help explain it.
Yoshemo1 1 year ago 2
@Yoshemo1 Yeah I know he shot the guy ("I shot him too! Right in the leg"), just can't recall football ever being mentioned or who the guy actually was.
Not a big deal, just noticing a lot of things said have their sources cited in context, but other things do not.
Don't want the comments to turn into a shouting match, but I bet they will. Loving the Experience so far regardless.

"He's gonna have a hard time playing football on what's left of that knee!"
TwinPerfectChannel 1 year ago 21
@TwinPerfectChannel Good call, forgot the second part of that quote. Another good reason to watch the rest of the movie!

@GenBadGuy "Then he came after me, I shot him too right in the leg. He cried more than the dog. He's going to have a hard time playing football on what's left of that knee." I hope that helps.
zhoban 1 year ago 2
@GenBadGuy In addition to TwinPerfectChannel's comment, not to mention that the room where you meet Eddie has football posters in it.
AyaKaraRemix 1 year ago
@AyaKaraRemix Oh wow, I never noticed the posters... Neat!
SidraWing 1 year ago
@GenBadGuy There is never a mention in all of Silent Hill 2 that says Eddie shot his "coach". And I've never heard of a coach that does play football. They "did", at one time, and Eddie specifically says "he's going to have a hard time playing football on what's left of that knee!" I'd like to say this is interesting, but there inconsistencies and unproven points abound, even if they're small ones.

@mulletwesker
Eddie shot some high school football player that bullied him. He called Eddie a "fat disgusting piece of shit". Like most school shooters, Eddie eventually snapped and shot the bully in the knee.
