You did a great job on this fandub! I could feel the emotion with you crying (trying not to cry myself). If they have an actual English dub, the "eh" for surprise would probably more like "huh" or "wha." And lips were a bit off sync with "I don't want that." If you had a slight pause between and said "I...don't want that" just so the lips look more in sync. Otherwise, great job!

It could be that for a large portion, if not most, anime viewers (esp. the Japanese ones), a core part of its appeal is the escapism of it all, esp. ones with intense supernatural or sci-fi themes.

Yes, anime is pretty damn entertaining, BUT for a large portion of Japanese viewers, I'd imagine there's a DEEPER component to its popularity- namely, the fact that the characters and plots have SO much more freedom and variety. It seems in stark contrast to the seemingly dull, extremely conformist, hypercompetitive way of doing things in normal Japanese society. Where norms and mores are so very rigid

In a society like Japan's, wouldn't a real life 'tsundere' be considered pretty weird and/or a major disturbance to the natural order of things? Some girl who gets all pissy so often and kicks people and shit when she doesn't get her way.

Getting mad and/or going bonkers like you might see in anime is almost unheard of in Japanese society, isn't it? I find it quite interesting how so much of what's in anime is shit that's almost never done in Japan. It's almost like all the suppressed (because of societal expectations) emotions, feelings, and fantasies of Japanese anime creators spill over into anime precisely BECAUSE it's a more 'polite' way of doing it, instead of making waves and trying to stand out in a huge way.

Come to think of it, most Japanese people are the OPPOSITE of "tsundere", aren't they? I mean, it's not a heavily emotional society (if I recall correctly), and they try to emphasize politeness and cordiality A LOT, right?

To be honest, I was never that into the series, BUT this was one of my favorite scenes. They actually show Taiga's affection for Ryuji for once.

...This whole "tsundere" concept in anime bewilders me. WHY is that considered an attractive character model?? I think it's horrible. A girl who's a total bitch for about 50-75% of a series/manga but then later on slowly becomes a nice person? I dunno... I suppose the 'challenge' of making her develop gradually into a good person CAN

Oh my gosh, you got the crying part perfectly! It was so amazing I almost teared up. But, just as constructive criticism, the part from about 0:28 onward is not quite sad sounding enough. It needs to sound more quiet, more soft and reflective. She sounds to cheerful, almost with a hopeful edge to her voice. She should sound more disappointed and slowly realizing her sadness.

Whenever I see fandubbed videos, I try to avoid because from previous ones I've watched, they just ruin it whether it's the audio quality or the lack of emotion. Yours however, this could easily be the professional english dubbed version. Two big thumbs up! :)

Well Taiga told Ryuuji to go to Minorin. But then when he left she realized she always relied on him for everything, and that would no longer happen as often as it already did since she knew Minorin would definitely fall in love with Ryuuji.. So she tried running out to him, to see if he was still there.. and he wasn't.

A good dub job isn't easy, but you managed to really pull it off. The voice you used is unique and stands apart from Rie Kugumiya's original but also suits her very well (my #1 criteria when judging dubs is, "does this voice suit that body?"), the timing of your lines was spot-on and your acting was great - nothing rushed, nothing hammed, nothing forced, but everything sounding natural and very convincing. Great work, I'd love to see more. =)
