can someone please tell me which car is faster? im trying to decide between the h22 vtec and the h23 and im having some trouble deciding because i really dont know the difference between the two.
@BobTheNailer92 I believe the 5th gen lude is the one with the H22 and the 4th gen lude is with the H23. H22 are faster, but since it's on the more heavy 5th gen lude, this race was pretty even.
If your looking to buy the fastest lude, get a 4th gen with a JDM H22A swap. From there you can build even more power out of it. If you don't want to swap get at least a 4th gen lude VTEC if you live in US. They come with a USDM H22a1. 5th gens are sexy, but slower due to the weightness.
The h22 is all high end power,h23 is lowend power.i know driven h22a 4th gen,and my h23a3.we did i race only got up to 3rd gear becase of traffic.Im a better driver i was wining the race.i did only 40 in 2th tried the 65 redline way faster now 60 in 2th.3rd about 87 or so,4th 101.
i just got a replacement motor for my lude .i got the h23a3 from a euro rover 623 gsi.planing building my h23a1. Cant wait to see how the new motor is going to.
I raced a 5th gen with my jdm 4th gen and absolutely destroyed him in the 2nd and 3rd. I wasn't the one who started to race. The guy got cocky and backed up 1/2 cars behind me to make it look like he got this. But got embarrassed several times in a row. Guess he was completely stock or didn't know how to drive his car.
i have an auto 5th gen.. biggest mistake of my life, its known to be faulty and has blown 3x, first time was to me abusing it. 2nd and 3rd after the rebuild was me babying it.
Doing a Manual swap in 2 weeks. P.S. auto 5th gens do 16 1/4 miles and manuals do low 15's and with good drivers and basic bolt ons, high 14's.
I own a 4th gen lude H23 and I love it!!! I actually wanted an H22 but didnt have enough cash to afford one but I dont ask for nothing else with the H23 its reliable and it backs me up in the streets when necessary;)
Auto h22, two words that should not be in the same sentence. I had a h23, swapped in a h22a, I miss the h23. The h22 is no doubt a smoother and more powerful engine, but the h23 felt quicker to me. The torque curve, and the insanely short gears (I would shift out of second at 50mph) made it feel quicker. I actually preferred the h23, honestly.

they are great motors and the funny thing is that i was beating most of the h22's in my area with the jdm h23 STOCK
