If Lateralus isn't number 1...then you fail at this quiz. There are 4 songs on that album that each equal 3 of songs on whatever album you think is number 1. It's not even close. I love White Stripes, Coheed, and QOTSA, but the same applies here. Lateralus is in the top 20 albums of ALL TIME. Let alone a decade list...Disagreeing means you just havent listened to it enough

@Cydonia170 You are absolutely correct. When I made this list "The Resistance was still fairly new and I was still pretty excited about it. This made my choice a little biased. I think if I were to do this list again I would put "Black Holes & Revelations" at number 3, instead of "The Resistance". Also, I think I would swap out The Killers' "Hot Fuss" for Alice In Chains' "Black Gives Way To Blue".
1) Origin of Symmetry - Muse 2) Hail to the Thief - Radiohead 3) Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand 4) The Resistance - Muse 5) Stadium Arcadium - RHCP 6) In Rainbows - Radiohead 7) Third - Portishead 8) Tonight - Franz Ferdinand 9) American Idiot - Green Day 10) X&Y - Coldplay --That was hard!
Kid A, Amnesiac, Funeral, De-Loused in the Comatorium, Lateralus, and & Yet & Yet are the only truly great albums released this decade, all in all it's been a stinker of a decade.
My Favorites are: 21st Century Breakdown (Green Day) Minutes to Midnight (Linkin Park) Folie a Duex (Fall Out Boy) Ocean Eyes (Owl City) Want (3OH!3) Memento Mori (Flyleaf) Page Avenue (Story of the Year) Viva La Cobra (Cobra Starship) Crash Love (AFI) Hold On Tight (Love Monday) So yeah theres 10

Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antenna's to Heaven (Godspeed You Black Emperor) 6. And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-out (Yo La Tengo) 7. Since I Left You (Avalanches) 8. Madvillainy (Madvillain) 9. The Microphones (The Glow Pt. 2) 10. A Grand Don't Come For Free (The Streets)
I think albums as a package will soon become a novelty. And then like all these bands reforming, it'll come back as a gimmick of the times. List: Aritist - Album 10. Grammatics - Grammatics 9. Lil Wayne - Tha Carter III 8. Bloc Party - Silent Alarm 7. Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes 6. Kanye West - Late Registration 5. Interpol - Antics 4. Stereophonics - Langauge Sex Violence Other 3. TOP TEN IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER chronic 2001 eminem - the marshall mathers LP my chemical romance - three cheers for sweet revenge system of a down - toxicity wilco - sky blue sky tool - lateralus pearl jam - pearl jam DMB - big whiskey and the groo grux king radiohead - kid A paul gilbert - get out of my yard
This hasn't been a good music decade at all. 10. Runnin' Wild(Airborne) 9.Continuum(John Mayer) 8. Toxicity(System of a Down) 7. Meteora(Linkin Park) 6. The Eminem Show(Eminem) 5 Infest(Papa Roach) 4. Light Grenades(Incubus) 3. Relapse(Eminem) 2. Want(3OH!3) 1. One-X(Three Days Grace) Oh yeah, and Green Day can blow me they have sucked since the nineties ended.
please no coldplay. they wouldn't be here without radiohead. So: 1. Kid A - Radiohead 2. Vespertine - Bjork (hate her or not, she's brilliant) 3. In Rainbows - Radiohead 4. Eminem - Marhsall Mathers LP 5. Daft Punk - Discovery 6. By the Way - Red Hot Chili Peppers 7. Hail to the Thief - Radiohead (that makes three :P) 8. PJ Harvey - Stories from the city, stories from the sea 9. Muse - Absolution 10. Eminem - The Eminem Show

Nothing compares to the older albums (Dark side of the moon, Kill em' all, Slaughter of the soul etc.)
10. Narrow Stairs - Deathcab for Cutie 9. Constellations - August Burns Red 8. Bone Palace Ballet - Chiodos 7. Demon Days - Gorillaz 6. Brother, Sister - meWithoutYou 5. Antics - Interpol 4. Whatever People say I am, Thats What I'm Not. - Arctic Monkeys 3.Viva La Vida - Coldplay 2. We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank - Modest Mouse 1. In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3 - Coheed and Cambria its been a crazy ten years =]

nah dumass hammer 1 diddy 2 tone loc 3 ll ccol j 4 prince 5 bobby brown 6 bow wow 7 tevin campbell 8 vanilla ice 9 rakim 10 the best top 10 of all time
I have to say that I'm not a big fan of new music, so the last three are basically add ons. However, Belle and Sebastian and The Damned are my two favorite bands, and So, Who's Paranoid? has become my favorite Damned album.
Lots of suck in the music industry in the last 10 years. I'm honestly not sure there were 10 great ones in this last decade.
QOTSA (& that includes all side projects like Desert Sessions & EODM) & Muse are good. The Plant/Krauss album is nice. I think NIN did something worthwhile.
I'm hoping The JPJ/Josh Homme/Dave Grohl record is gonna happen this year, that will not suck.
In no particular order... Mogwai- Happy Songs for Happy People Russian Circles- Enter Deftones- White Pony Tool- Lateralus Explosions In The Sky- The Earth Is Not a Cold, Dead Place Godspeed You Black Emperor!- F# A# Infinity The Fall Of Troy- Doppelganger Fuel- Natural Selection Muse- Absolution Karnivool- Themata
I'm a metal head, so I live my life around albums, not singles, even when downloading them. 1. The Devil You Know (Heaven And Hell) 2. Magica (Dio) 3. Paradise Lost (Symphony X) 4. Voyager (Manilla Road) 5. The Metal Opera Pts. 1 and 2 (Avantasia) 6. Dark Thrones and Black Flags (Darkthrone) 7. Ocean's Heart (Dreamtale) 8. Defenders Of The Crown (Human Fortress) 9. Sons Of Northern Darkness (Immortal) 10. A Matter Of Life And Death (Iron Maiden) I know, a lot of these are obscure. Oh well.
I still buy CDs, but i'm the only one of my friends that still does that. I just have to have the material form of the music in some sense, be it a compact disc, cassette tape, or Vinyl.
7. JJ72- JJ72
6. Natalie Imbruglia- White Lillies Island
5. Nightwish- Once
4. Eminem- The Marshall Mathers LP
3. Muse- Origin Of Symmetry
2. The Gathering- Sleepy Buildings
