  • I loved this level mainly due to how annoying the level before it was: the sanctuary of fire and stone...

  • I only found 45 lums in that level and I can't find 5 more lums. :(

  • the dream cast version is the best version

  • this is the same rayman as on 3ds:O

  • @meganielz Yeah, because Rayman 3D is a port of Rayman 2 The Great Escape for Sega Dreamcast.

  • this has wayy diffrent music than the nintendo 3ds one

  • haha the dreamcast version of this level is better than each other one

  • great! one of my favorite levels!

    that's my favorite dc game^^

  • what system are you playing this on?

  • Reading the description will help you.

Yes, the Dreamcast is a Sega console.

  • @Saestrol Ya but what system is that?

  • ...I just told you what system it is... seriously.

  • @conman2317 "Ya but what system is that?"

    Are you seriously THAT retarded.

  • ez a világ legjobb játéka ;)

  • geez, when you play it looks sooo easy XDD hom many times did you play this game to master it so perfectly XDD?

  • Over the course of 12 years... probably over 50 times.

  • @Saestrol Dang, you must really love this game! But how many of those times were on the Dreamcast version?

  • Interesting enough, just two times. This was recorded the same year I obtained the Dreamcast version... which was for $7.

  • One of the best levels in the game.

  • 0.35-0.41

How did you insert a video in other video???

  • You use a video editor that supports overlays. It has to be something more than just Windows Movie Maker.

In this case, I did it with Ulead Video Studio.

  • Woah I never realised how different the Dreamcast version looked compared to the PS1 version!

  • this one is the best story i hope the pirates come back

  • why is it so dark in the dreamcast version?

  • I'm not 100% sure, but I think it might be part of my Capture Card, the way t takes n Brightness or Contrast.

It actually became a slight problem in some spots where you couldn't see very well later on too.

  • Sae, at the beggining of the level you can jump and roll through the door without hitting the switches. Have you tried that?

  • I have seen this glitch and I have tried it. Apparently it does not work for me. My suspicion is that unlike the N64 version, the polygons and collision detection are much more detailed and prevent Rayman from clipping through the door. I even tried skipping the boss in the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava, but no good.

Of course if someone does it in the Dreamcast version (which I am playing here) then I'll be darned.

  • lol those pirates walk the braggish way acting like there so tough

  • whats with the small pyramid?is it exclusive to the dreamcast version?what does it do?unlock minigames or something?

  • You are completely correct.

It's called a "Glob Crystal", a Dreamcast-only item that unlocks minigames in the Village of Globox. (DC only location)

  • oh,thx for saying...btw the map is different....in other versions the map was called the hall of doors.....i guess here its called the island of doors or the isle of doors ^^

  • You are right. The latter is correct.

  • oh XD....now im knowing some things about the dreamcast version....i think it was the best of all versions!thx 4 sharing these infos

  • Why did you use the N64 music, also?

  • 'Cause it's awesome.

A lot of places, I found it to be better than some of the remade MP3 musics.

  • i wonder why did they changed it so much from the first rayman that was a cool sidescroller into a 3d game. I allways love the first rayman

  • The funny thing is that Rayman 2 started off set to be a 2-D game, but Ubisoft decided to change it earlier on.

I don't know how many people would have remembered Rayman 2 if it were still a 2-D platformer.

  • i don't know but i think rayman 2 has been renamed as rayman 3 and then was released for the GBA, as i got it, and it has a lot of things that this version has (they got sssam, the sanctuary where umber is, is an full world now and there's a lot more, even the final boss is the same)

but it's just a random guess of mine xD

  • Yea, I like the dreamcast version better than the PlayStation 2 version. it has a lot more secret places (Such as the globox village and the Glob crystals as Saestrol mentioned) and the controls are a lot easier. I've had my dreamcast for about 10 years now, and I still think it's the most fun game system out there :) and this game definitely ranks high on my list, as well as sonic adventure 1 and ecco the dolphin.

  • What was that thing at 7:13?

I've never seen it in the PC version.

  • That is a Glob Crystal. The reason you haven't seen these before is because the crystals are special to the Dreamcast version of the game.

Collecting them unlocks mini-games in the Village of Globox. (Another DC-only area)

  • The Isle of Doors looks orsum! :) Will you do a vid showing the entire Isle?

  • Look at "Rayman 2 TGE - Crow's Nest" to see the entire Isle.

  • nice..... keg water skiing on deadly green stuff...... awesome.

  • In Truth I think that the music in the N64 version is suprior to the Dreamcast. But some of the re-arragnged versions of the dreamcast songs are pretty good. Although nothing beats the boss battle music with Razorbeard for the N64. And the song with the Pirate walking around in the begining. Those are the best.

  • My favorite part of the music on this level is the bass guitar in the begining.

  • When the Pirate was walking around? Yeah I liked that one too. This was also pulled from the N64 MIDI strings.

  • Nice one. Your showing this game who's boss, and you poweder keg fly like a pro.

  • Much easier on the Dreamcast for sliding controls.

  • what is this yellow-something that is near the throne in the fairy glade? glob cristal?? what is it for? in pc version of this game there was nothing like that

  • The Glob Crystals are collected to unlock Mini-games in the Globox Village, a Dreamcast-only place in the game.

  • Yes, putting a Video Camera to a CRT screen is going to give bad quality.

What I do is I put the DC into my computer's Capture Card. The program records the game as I play it. Then when I'm done recording, I take VirtualDub (A handy video processing program) and resize the video. Using filters this is where you crop out those borders.

The rest goes into Ulead and then Finally compression. But there is a much simpler way of doing all that. Getting rid of borders is good, however is missed often

  • THAT WHAT I DID TOO

  • Heh heh I didn't download an emulator. To get a DC emulator would be really hard from what I know.

I own the original N64 version, so with sound off you can just record as the area changes. By moving slowly I found out the MIDI sequences were quite lengthy.

  • Hope they make this game downloadable on the Wii

  • on pc verison the pirate comes after u insted of teleporting

  • hey saestrol i noticed you like super mario galaxy! so do i! i think were gonna be friends.. and another great vid!

  • Yes I do, but I don't have the game right now (Lack of Wii), so I don't think I can continue those for now.

  • i love this game!

  • I have every intention of getting this & a dreamcast throughout the year or I'll get both as xmas prezzies.

  • And I would just download this onto an emulator, but I'm having trouble finding the rom and I just gave up after meaningless searching.

  • I know the feeling. Looking for roms are a pain in the arse. Sources always get cracked down, pointless votes to look at archives I mean geez.

  • this version is the WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Good luck finding anyone to agree with you.

...If you were even serious that is.

  • your right............its not bad.

    what is your favorite version.

(thanks for the videos by the way!)

  • No problem. My favorite version is now the Dreamcast. Followed by the N64 which I recall from long ago in the green cartridge.

  • i forgot what the Glob crystals are for...a refresher maybe? i don't remember em in the 64 version

  • The Glob crystals were exclusive to the Dreamcast version. You collect the crystals and head over to the Globox Village which is in the Woods of Light (A Purple Lum was put right in front the camera near the end of the level).

I should do that soon as there were six crystals total, and I think I have 5 now.

  • Cool video. I see that you added some new sound effects. :)

  • Yep. They all come from the same game because they are so compatible.

Precipice is going to be crazy...

  • Interesting!

I've finished the DS version of RM2,

But I recently found the PC version laying around.

I noticed there's a brief part in the video where you go into the fairy glade. I don't recall that area being in the DS version.

However, it may be in the PC version, I'll have to check that out sometime....

  • I just verified the level in the DS version. With the exact same layout, this part of the level is present in the DS version.

That in fact IS the Fairy Glade. It houses the only cage and lums that you could not otherwise get in the level. If you go through the Fairy Glade, right before the vines to the next area, look to your left. That's where it takes you.

  • finally

  • Cool video!
