They knew each other, interacted, and for Shakespeare to have stolen his works would mean there was a massive conspiracy throughout the entire community of English playwrights. De Vere's writing style is well-documented and nothing like the style that is characteristically Shakespeare's.

I saw this movie today and I FREAKIN LOVED IT! Went as a field trip so double epicness xP I loved this movie and the way it was portrayed by the actors/tress. Lol. It is hard to follow at first but I got it quickly and it was enjoyable! Just a hint: Don't take a group of 150+ 14-15 year olds to see thus movie cause there is a VERY small kissing/sex scene =_= There will be lots of shouts and chatter. Besides that it was one of the best movies I've seen this year :3

@LionTroy, the movie uses an artistic licence of history and chronology to pull of its plot. If you believe it "plays perfectly with history" you need to do more research..

I saw this movie today and I FREAKIN LOVED IT! Went as a field trip so double epicness xP I loved this movie and the way it was portrayed by the actors/tress. Lol. It is hard to follow at first but I got it quickly and it was enjoyable! Just a hint: Don't take a group of 150+ 14-15 year olds to see thus movie cause there is a VERY small kissing/sex scene =_= There will be lots of shouts and chatter. Besides that it was one of the best movies I've seen this year :3

I can appreciate arguing against convoluted pseudointellectuals, but there's no such thing as "too much education." Never fault someone for devoting time to researching or "read[ing] a few books, earn[ing] a few credits--" fault the folks who wear the mask of authority, who argue perniciously without evidence., turning civil debates into war zones.

@kimberella8 I can totally agree with you, but I think it's important to distinguish those who genuinely immerse themselves in their studies from mindless know-it-all academics. It's not the degree that makes an argument, but rather the quality of argument they assert.

While this is a conspiracy theory I don't believe is true, this movie was amazing. It not only plays perfectly with history, it follows a tale of political termoil, classism, betrayal and I was nearly in tears.
And at the end of the day, isn't it the power of a story that shakespeare represents?

@LionTroy The idea that William Shakespeare is a collective pseudonym rather than a real man is not a conspiracy theory... it's not even a conspiracy... in order to be a conspiracy, it must be the collective efforts of multiple people who know better to mislead the public. A conspiracy theory describes such a deception.
It's never been a matter of deception so much as a matter of people individually making stuff up over the centuries.

I think like with most conspiracies, the people who have actually studied Shakespeare and his plays would scoff at this, while the people who know little about it are more inclined to be fooled. Shakespeare wrote Shakespeare. Its just that simple.

@tubub Not really comparable. Einstein was from a different era. And at least he excelled at the subjects of math and physics. Shakespeare would not have had access to the information he would have needed to write those plays, nor the experience. He couldn't even sign his name the same twice. He spent his whole life in the theater. There were plenty of plays on history and drama that could've taught him what was needed. Trust me, no accredited person actually believes Shakespeare didn't write the plays. It's interesting to talk about but vapid intellectually.

@tubub Can't you see that an "accredited person" has their career staked upon the popular fiction of the actor being the author? Do you think they want to see their career go down the drain for telling the truth? There is lots of evidence that he could not have been the author. In fact, everything we know about the man screams that he wasn't the author. Read "The Truth Will Out" by Brenda James and Joseph Rubenstein. They destroy the notion that Shakespeare could have written them.

@tubub Though I doubt you will critically examine this issue and bother to look at the evidence impartially. Someone who is as dismissive and arrogant about something that many brilliant people have puzzled over across the centuries obviously is emotionally invested in their preconceived ideas. In that way, you are much like a fundamentalist true-believer who cannot consider anything that contradicts what they were brought up to believe as a child.

I have too many books to read. Most conspiracy theories are bullshit, I'm not sufficiently convinced Shakespeare wasn't the writer. I'm also not emotionally invested in my "preconceived" ideas, I honestly don't care very much either way.

@tubub Ho ho, you seem so sure of yourself! There are researchers in litterature and history of litterature who are interested in the question wether WS really existed or not. I wonder how old are you. Just keep on reading your books and finish to read them, as you say, before comming here and show off like that.
