Actually, I think "westerners" cosplay the characters better because nearly all the characters from Asia have American eyes lol. since anime creators grow up in japan, its natural that most anime characters were inspired by japanese. sailor mars including her personality was based on a japanese actress named mizuki arisa for example.
but anime creators introduce fashions into anime. lots of characters in the 1980s sci-fic anime were inspired by caucasian because of hollywood movies. the protagonist of Space Adventure Cobra was based on a french actor named Jean paul belmondo for example. check out "AMV" on my channel.
sailor moon made anime characters' color hair popular. and the creator said sailor scouts' color hair was inspired by the 1970-1980s super sentai. lots of anime were inspired by super sentai.

manga began in the 19th (?) century and anime began in the 1910s (?).
lots of anime artists including tezuka osamu were influenced by american cartoons (betty boop, bambi, etc) in the 1930-1950s. but tezuka lost popularity in the early 1970s because of gekiga. the current style of anime originated in gekiga (realistic manga) that originated in the early 1960s and kamishibai (japanese narrative art) that originated in the 12th (?) century.

Indeed, much of Japan's early cartoons were drawn using western styles, no doubt due to America's strong influence over Japan after the country was defeated. Anime is simply the Japanese version of American cartoons. We love it because it's more violent and realistic, however it began from American cartoons, and American cosplay (Disneyland, lmao).

since anime creators grow up in japan, its natural that most anime characters were inspired by japanese. sailor mars including her personality was based on a japanese actress named mizuki arisa for example.
but anime creators introduce fashions into anime. lots of characters in the 1980s sci-fic anime were inspired by caucasian because of hollywood movies. the protagonist of Space Adventure Cobra was based on a french actor named Jean paul belmondo for example. check out "AMV" on my channel.

manga began in the 19th (?) century and anime began in the 1910s (?).
lots of anime artists including tezuka osamu were influenced by american cartoons (betty boop, bambi, etc) in the 1930-1950s. but tezuka lost popularity in the early 1970s because of gekiga. the current style of anime originated in gekiga (realistic manga) that originated in the early 1960s and kamishibai (japanese narrative art) that originated in the 12th (?) century.

Indeed, much of Japan's early cartoons were drawn using western styles, no doubt due to America's strong influence over Japan after the country was defeated. Anime is simply the Japanese version of American cartoons. We love it because it's more violent and realistic, however it began from American cartoons, and American cosplay (Disneyland, lmao).

i hope he/she realizes that "westerners" isn't a race, its a culture/place. there are many races within a culture/ region.and that's racist implying that only Asians should be allowed to cosplay because of eye roundness or skin color. cosplay is just ment to be for fun, not for bringing down other races. and in anime, there really is very little differentiation between races. most of the Asian, Whites, and Mexicans look all the same in body structure, skin color and eye shape in anime.
