Wow, I remember Edgar and his brother Johnny when I was a little kid... I finally got to see his bro' Johnny Winter, a few years ago.. never had a chance to see Edgar though ;/
I know this dude has an album out from way back that is one long acid trip, I dont remember the name but I can not find it anywhere? Im getting all the trendy shit good but meant for radio'' whatever?..Except for frankenstein which is a fucking master piece'' and it used to get radio play? The poorly misguided bastards on radio have been completely mislead..
@dannyhood66 His first album was "Entrance". Might be the one your thinking of. Side A was a suite of songs with a central theme. One of my all-time faves.
Excellent. I saw Edger and Rick Derringer play at Pacific Arena in 1970 Vancouver. Went down with a friend to California after that. One of the places i stopped off for a few days was Berkley. Believe it or not. Who passes me casually on the street. No one even noticed, but i did. Rick Derringer with Johnny Winter!!!... Can you believe that. I was so stunned that i didn,t even ask for an autograph. I will never forget that.
recordando viejos tiempos los 70´s ....gran rola , en la Universidad oíamos a edgar winter sobre todo ese album genial de "White Trash" un regalo de Winter para la humanidad
An absolutely beautiful and moving Edgar Winter song. I love Jerry Lacroix vocals. Thanks for this post. If anyone sees a post of "Why am I dying to live" off the same album as this song, I'd love to hear it.
Edgar and Johnny Winter are among a handful of talented siblings. This Edgar song is beautiful and poignant. (I'm dying for somebody to put the live version of Tobacco Road with Edgar AND Johnny online!!!)
You mean Tobacco Road was an Edgar Winter Song? Until today the only one I had heard, I thought, was Frankenstein. What are some of his other songs? Albums?
Saw Edgar & White Trash in Berkely CA 1n the winter of 70/71...not sure...I had come back from Vietnam...was stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco....You Tube makes me smile...thank you
This is Jerry LaCroix on vocals from Edgar Winter's White Trash Band. Edgar now does the vocals on Fly Away when touring. I sure wish he and Jerry could have done more more together. The Roadwork album with Rick Derringer on guitar & vocals along with Edgar & Jerry is one of the most underrated albums ever.
For as long as I remember, I grew up listening to Edgar and Johnny records... so much so that I actually thought we were related since I come from a big family of light haired blondes. lol I wish someone would make a beautiful video to Autumn.
does anyone knows who wrote the lyrics of this masterpiece ? is edgar himself ?
please answer if you really know
thanks

Please Pray for Jerry LaCroix. He has Congestive Heart failure and isn't doing well. What an inspiration he has been to so many of us.

They don't make music like this anymore
I saw Edgar & Johnny at Madison Square
I was blown away
Later I saw Edgar at the savoy with Jerry & some of the band
They did this song with a local curch choir as back up
Then they did "Dying to Live"
And my life was transformed for ever
