im from edmonton AB canada, its a very cold winter city. the move to vancouver was the best possible thing ever for me!! its so lush and green and beautiful year round. and yes, it rains alot in the winter and i mean alot! but trust me its way better then 3 feet of cold snow! fall, spring are very warm and gorgeous! summer is hot beautiful comfortable beach weather which is really such a gem! vancouver is for people who love the outdoors and adventure!

Scotland, Texas, California, and now Vancouver. it's beautfiul in Vancouver. when u look out the windows in my house u can see the mountains and it's cool. downtown is nice apart from the coke heads and the homeless people sleeping on the street but they don't bother u so that's good. I'm just waiting for Fall or winter so i can go skiing or snowboarding.
I am more interested in how many days per year you see significant sun in Vancouver? I am fine with MORNING fog/overcast but it is those long stretches where you don't see the sun for a week or more that I am concerned about. Thanks.

two words to describe vancouver: IT BLOWS.
i can live anywhere in the world & i cant think of a better place to live than socal. temperate spring/fall (70F's), cool winters (60F), warm to hot in the summer (80-90F light humidity). endless activities & theme parks. van can keep thinking theyre all that but in reality: theyre not.
socal'ers wont get used to the 10 months of cloudy gloom. other than that, it's a great place to live.

What? British Columbia is a huge area, of course it's not the only city! There's Victoria(the capital), Prince Rupert and a bunch of cities in the Vancouver area.
Victoria is on Vancouver Island, a 2 hour ferry ride from Vancouver, Prince George is 800km north of Vancouver. Kelowna and Kamloops are 2 hours apart from each and both 5 hours from Vancouver. Nanaimo is also on Vancouver Island one our up island from Victoria. Kitimat is a small city on northern BC 12 hours from Vancouver via Prince George. I suggest looking at a map before making statements about BC geography.

I've lived all over the place. Scotland, Texas, California, and now Vancouver. it's beautfiul in Vancouver. when u look out the windows in my house u can see the mountains and it's cool. downtown is nice apart from the coke heads and the homeless people sleeping on the street but they don't bother u so that's good. I'm just waiting for Fall or winter so i can go skiing or snowboarding.

I am more interested in how many days per year you see significant sun in Vancouver? I am fine with MORNING fog/overcast but it is those long stretches where you don't see the sun for a week or more that I am concerned about. Thanks.

as a former vancouverite now living in southern california:
two words to describe vancouver: IT BLOWS.
i can live anywhere in the world & i cant think of a better place to live than socal. temperate spring/fall (70F's), cool winters (60F), warm to hot in the summer (80-90F light humidity). endless activities & theme parks. van can keep thinking theyre all that but in reality: theyre not.
socal'ers wont get used to the 10 months of cloudy gloom. other than that, it's a great place to live.

Thanks but socal is the opposite extreme - not enough rain to make the air clean and the vegetation green. I prefer to be somewhere in the middle. Just curious how bad it really is in Vancouver numbers wise?

when my wife first came with me to vancouver in october, she was amazed at how green the grass was. i said do you notice that no one has auto sprinklers?
we were there for a week & she couldnt wait to get back here.
yes, rain is very important but way over rated. those who say they love living in the rain either have no choice but to live in it or are mentally impaired.
btw, my wife is a clinical psychologist & after a few visits there, she noticed the overwhelming # pop is clinically depressed

Yeah Vancouver blows, so does SoCal. Barren drought riddin, smoggy overpopulated gang capitol of the world. Don't take a wrong exit or you may get jacked up. Or take a stroll in elegant Watts during a sunset. Or I know, Venice beach. Main and hastings by the sea. Talk about bums hitting you up for money. Just stay away from the Island. We can't wait till summers over so all you fags can go back to your shit hole.

again, from someone who currently lives in socal & has lived in vancouver & from my wife that visits vancouver: we would both fully concur to say that IT BLOWS. it just does. you can ask the same question to me over n over & youll get the same answer.
dont forget that you are going to have to deal with the arrogant passive aggressive pseudo intellectual narcissistic clinically depressed population that resides there.

What? British Columbia is a huge area, of course it's not the only city! There's Victoria(the capital), Prince Rupert and a bunch of cities in the Vancouver area.

Victoria is on Vancouver Island, a 2 hour ferry ride from Vancouver, Prince George is 800km north of Vancouver. Kelowna and Kamloops are 2 hours apart from each and both 5 hours from Vancouver. Nanaimo is also on Vancouver Island one our up island from Victoria. Kitimat is a small city on northern BC 12 hours from Vancouver via Prince George. I suggest looking at a map before making statements about BC geography.
