@jonchristianify - with an attitude like that...you are screwed.... if you are a musician, please post some of your work with you running sound....I am a working musician and sometimes have to use my own PA and mix my own for smaller gigs....which makes me appreciate the times I can have a professional sound person to make me sound the best possible...ultimately it's about good communication between the performer and the sound pro.
well, that's how it works in the real world. no matter how much tech you talk to a performer at a gig, they just want you to change a knob or make it louder. many times they just want to feel like you did something. performers can have a lot of ego, and if you tell them you changed something, but you really didn't, and the performer says it sounds way better, what does that mean about the performer?!
"she might not know that you didn't do anything" - but this is how to BS people... unreal... more a tutorial on how to BS then specific audio techniques...
Maybe you're a musician and not a sound guy? Trust me- A close friend of mine OWNS a large PA company in tokyo. I work in a studio for a living. this is standard practice. Sometimes you just knows theres nothing you can do, but rather then waste time arguing, the show must go on. Get over it.
Thanks for posting this, Easy Music! Really helpful aid to teach sound reinforcement basics to volunteer help at school and church gigs. I even learned some stuff and i've been doing it for years!
