  • Quelle merveilleuse voix ! merci pour ce partage... Michèle

  • Thrax! I found you! Our favourite former Tribune is here... And your playlist is most delightful.

    What's that picture called?

  • Identify yourself first, do I know you or you just know me :D

The picture is 'The Rejected Poet' by

    William Powell Frith

  • I am Voltaire le Philosophe. And that man on the right, he looks just like me!

    :P

  • I remember you and I actually suspected that it was you ;)

The man there is supposed to be Alexander Pope.

  • And the woman on the left Lady Montagu.

Took me days to find out, lol

  • Ps. Thankyou Thranx for your amzing videos and for the beautiful imagese you choose for them

  • I love her voice!!!

She was born in my hometown and in november I'm going to her concert :)

  • Eeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!

    Paisiello. Meeeee happy now! =)

  • I think you were away while I posted the other clips from this opera, take a look if you haven't already.

  • OK- that would explain why I just saw this aria posted and not the ouverture first. Thanks!

Paisiello's fantastic- thanks for uploading this opera! =)

Thanks for informing of that too!

  • The overture for this opera is lost so Ottavio Dantone replaced it with his own work based on a theme by Paisiello.

  • Oh my gosh! I love Romina Basso so much! She's incredible. And incredible music sung by an incredible singer is an 'incredible' combination! haha

  • I wish we have in the market more studio recordings of Paisiello's works! They're so great :)

  • How many studio recordings of Paisiello operas there actually is? 2 or 3 or something like that?

Some of the live recordings that some people try to sell are so bad that I would be ashamed to distribute them for free :D

Anyway, I would like to hear some of his serious operas. Preferably on a more famous/better libretto than this one here.

    'L'Olimpiade' or 'Didone abbandonata' please!

  • In fact I made a research and some Titles available in CD are: -Pulcinella Vendicatto (A wonderful recording, studio) -Passione di Gesu Cristo (Another great recording, studio). -Il barbiere di Siviglia.(Studio) -La Serva Padrona(Studio) -Proserpina(live) -Nina(studio) -Gli Astrologi Immaginari(live) -La Daunia Felice(live) -Passio di San Giovanni (Live) -Socrate Immaginario (Live) -I Giuochi d'Agrigento (Live)
  • That might not be complete list, I remember seeing other titles in my long googling sessions but those are perhaps unavailable. La Molinara (I've heard some bits somewhere, awful quality). There should also be a recording of his 'Il Mondo della Luna' out there. 'I Giuchi' is to be avoided I think. The counter who sings the primo uomo part there was also in Piccinni's 'Il re pastore' - lets say that it's too painful to talk about that any closer ;)
  • There is a good live recording of Don Chisciotti by the Orchestre del Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.

  • Yes, some of the Metastasio things... :)
