  • Ouch. That probably hurt.

  • Cryptozoology novel about two boys who find something strange on the beach one night see video book trailer

  • fuck because asians love to eat weird stuffs thats the answer

  • not all coelcanths live in caves. only some species do.

  • But what does it taste like?

  • nobody gonna figure out, its too rare, and 100 million year old species

  • it actually isnt too great. Because the oil starts leaking soon after it dies, the flesh has a putrid taste.

  • There's a reason why the Comoros Coelacanth is protected by law... How many of these rare and beautiful fish need to be disected in the name of science?

  • especially by these bunch of idiots

  • now we learnt why things extinct... b/c of "superior Human" which damage the earth the most.

  • yeah atleast let it have babies first so, there is more of the fish to look at and smile, thats what this world needs, i dont care if you disagree, but we need more people to smile...

  • autopsy is only done to dead bodies.....so basically this fish is dead! thanks to these people called scientists! we learn more because of them!

  • why just dont those scientists

    let that fishes born

ohh thos poor fishes will die sadly

    ill pray 4 your souls

it can reach into hundreds of fishes in there

  • you should thank them. without scientist you would have no clue what kind of beeing you yourself is and whats the world arround you.

  • What an utterly pointless exercise .

!Good heavens these people are primitive and backward. Grown men acting like cruel children and dressing it up as an autopsy in an unconvincing attempt to look civilized. How repulsive.

The sooner mankind is wiped out the better.

  • Just goes to show people are morons

They find a living fossil fish that is REALLY rare and what do they do?

Open it up and see what's inside! Like Cracker Jacks! Tear it open and claim your prize!

  • dumb scientists, i bet they got no idea of what to do with that coelacanth...

just hand the fish to the pro-sci already !

  • no they probably found it dead maybey but still they could have sent it over to a more "Civilized" area to be examined instead of some third world morons

  • sashimi!

  • what i hate is us humans love these animals but what do most do? kill them an autotopsy to learn about them is ok i guess but if we dont stop killing them like many more animals they will die out sadly we have nothing we can do once someone buys a coelacanth for 10,000 bucks someone will have to try killing one very sad huh?

  • I hope these scientists die. :)

  • well i hope they think you should die for being such a stupid fuck

  • SUSHI PARTY

  • After wards they threw that bad boy on the barby...

  • Great video thx alot!

  • @DrElmo2 there are two species of coelacanths that have been discover, the one of the shores of India or close to africa, and the other by indonesia. So that been said to answer you question, its because thats where the fish live. And I mean no disrespect when I say this, but most fisherman over at that side of the world may know how to catch fish but lack knowlegde beyond that.

  • @DrElmo2 europeans drove the caspian tiger, thylacine, and arabian ostrich to extinction as well as many others, so yeah not just asians...

  • crazy! it's huge....i can't watch tho...i hope animals like this stay alive that's amazing what god has done

  • I really can't stop wondering how it would taste. Beef or fish? But I keep feeling so bad for it... I must be a monster =(

  • @ZProjectKoreaZ they say it tastes terrible

  • So according to you, every handline fisher man, casts his line into the deep blue sea and knows exactly what he is going to catch??? Coelacanths dont live on any sea bed they live in caves 200 to 300 meters deep, Coelacanth ain't a Flounder!!!

  • @michellehill91 god your stupid

  • Oh wow. They first shoulda let it's eggs hatch what fagtards.

  • Fagtards??? Retards???

Why do people have to show there emotion by personally attacking individuals??

C'mon, get a dictionary and learn how to express yourself (your right to do so) but in a slightly more eloquent manner, I am sure that people would take your opinion more seriously.

  • lol! That's mean but COOL

  • Weell Said Bunakenchacha

  • Hatch it where? In your fish tank?

  • you idiots,

this is a chance for scientists to examine this fish. from this autopsy they will be able to see just how well this fish is doing and if its population is indeed small or large. they probably learned so much just from that one autopsy.

  • How do endangered animals go extinct? well here you go

  • There are millions of dumb reasons to kill animals. This is not one of them. This is a Coelacanth, what is seen to be a living transition between fish and Amphibians. They have lungs, fleshy "limbs" and a hinged skull.

  • Autopsy without gloves ???? ckckck so profesional !

  • Did you watch the whole thing?

  • smart killing a fish with eggs...especially when that fish is nearly extinct.

  • Fish was caught by local fisherman, he did not know what it was until he brought it back to the mainland and was told that he couldn't feed his family with it, the fact that it had eggs didn't surface until they did the autopsy

  • oh~ nvmd then.

  • @janepak It sad that these fish get caught by fisherman, but once they do there is little that they can do for them. Even if they tried to return it to deeper water the damage is already done and the fish won't survive.

  • If you see a Coelacanth with eggs, it wouldn't be wise killing it!!! Let the Coelacanth race reproduce itself, PLEASE.

  • damn that thing is freaken huge

  • oh look a fish thats been allive for millions of years....lets cut open!......freaken dumshits

  • Yea they're retards for doing that..

  • hey thats my grandpa leave him alone

  • mmmm, lunch

  • Those werent eggs they were membranes.

And they can be spotted in the comoron islands and india. and some south africa.

    And wikipedia isnt always right.

  • lol @ ThatBoyRaym

  • does anyone know if there is/was a way to save the eggs? leave a reply plz ty

  • The people who did this must have killed for the opportunity! Wow.

For those of you worrying whether this would have killed off the species, there is probably a healthy population of them. We'd just assumed they were extinct because we'd never seen them before, but I think they just live...I don't quite know. Pelagically, or deep sea. In a place it would be very hard to find them. So we'd never found a living specimen until now.

  • Now??? I hope you mean about 70 years ago because this first one known on record was in 1938 or something like that!

  • This is the second recent finding

  • Your telling me it took them 70 years to find another fish in the ocean that are really big in numbers? Please read Wikipedia or something!

  • How are they in really big numbers?

  • Dude please read a freakin book they do mate do you know what that is and besides that they have been here for a long time see the first sitting back in the 1930's just found one and since then they know where they are and what they eat and everything i think they can be found in the indian ocean and somewhere by south africa just read up on them!

  • I was just asking you how you knew they were in really big numbers. I know they are a very thinly distributed, limited population. Just wondered where you got your 'facts' from. Incidentally, if you had read Wikipedia, you would have seen 'In 1998, the total coelacanth population was estimated to have been 500 or fewer, a number that would threaten the survival of the species.' That sort of puts your comments in a bit of a dim light.

  • ...and incidentally - I have a degree in Geology, Biology and Palaobiology and have studied the Coelacanth and other Sarcopterygians fairly extensively so before you throw your paucity of intellect around, at least get to know your enemy.

    Twat.

  • poor fish!

  • wait wait... if its a prehistoric fish that was thought to b dead, and it has eggs...then that must mean the we r still ending species by killing off the young b4 they ever had a chance! GJ people, your doing great!

  • No body is killing anything on purpose, the fish was caught by mistake by a local fisherman, that was fishing to feed his family. The fish once brought to the surface would not have survived had it been let loose again, as the fish lives at great depth and bringing it to the surface already sealed its destiny.

  • oh ok, i wasn't aware of that. i opoligize

  • An autopsy, also known as a post-mortem examination,is a medical procedure that consists of a thorough examination of a corpse to determine the cause and manner of death and to evaluate any disease or injury that may be present.

This prehistorical fish was already dead, akildama3423 is right.

  • couldn'tthey have just left in alone? maybe just put one of those little chips in them or something?

  • why do people always have to kill things that are already extinct ! that is so fuckin annoying! that fish was proabaly the last of its kind but nooooo you have to be stupid and kill it just to see what it looks like !!!

  • uhmm..correction...when you do an autopsy, the THING that was autopsied is already DEAD. actually, the fish died before autopsied...if you have time try to look in the dictionary and find the definition of AUTOPSY..and you will understand what i mean..ok?!

  • actually it must have died because you took it out of the water stupid !

  • If something's extinct then there wouldn't be any left to kill in the first place, duh.

  • They caught by accident, even if it's released it wouldn't survive. So why release it, going to be waste anyways. Much better idea to learn more about it than throwing it away.

  • That would be hilarious if it came alive like dr otto and fucked everyone up.

  • WOW! That is awesome how they study animals.

  • ...isn't the oil on it's skin a laxative?

Good luck eating that Sushi...it won't be in you long.

  • hey hey !! someone was right, they did make sushi out of it !

  • can scientests eat that kinda fish? hehehehehe it's seems poisonous!!!

  • they did not kill the coelacanth it was caught on a fishing line in Indonesia and was kept in a shallow tank where it later died.

  • Is the fisherman had released the fish, it would have survived!

  • if you had caught a fish that looked like that and were desperate for money, would you release it?

  • true...

  • "Is the fisherman had released the fish, it would have survived!"

Wrong. The fish came from deep waters. With the decrease in water pressure the fish had an extremely low chance of survival even if the fisherman did release it.

  • true...

  • Impossible, once the fish has reached the surface, it would have no chance of survival because there's not enough water pressure.

  • MMMMMM...They should fry it up when they are done with it. So they can tell the world what it taste like. Maybe give it ti Emeril , so she can do a show on how to cook prehistoric fish....LETS TAKE OUR AUTOPSY UP A NOTCH...BAM!!!

  • LOL!

  • fuck leave the damn things alomnne

  • dude, they let it die before the autopsy you fuckin hippy

  • u just said it right there you hippy, they "let" it die! If they would have just left him alone in the first place, he wouldn't have died.

  • yea since we have left them alone for all these years their population has increased by 600 percent

  • This is a really exciting video! I think the existence of coelacanths should get much more feedback for the study of cryptozoology. It's discoveries like this that give much more credit to other ridiculed studies, say the Lochness?

  • well, if they would stop killing things for studies, more and more amazing creatures would probably exist.

  • wasnt killed for study. it was caught by a fisherman, survived out of the water for 30 mins, then put in a shallow pond where it lived another 17 hours before dying.

  • exactly, thats why it was placed in a shallow pond so they can study it. It died because they wanted to study it, same thing man.

  • what if for some reason there was an organ that had the cure for cancer? would you still be against it?

  • your stupid it wouldnt survive in a shallow pond it cant survive with out water preasure thats why they live at 200 meters plus under the water stupid
